Chapter 85
85. A Day At The Beach
We returned to our lodging from the fountain park.
“I’m going to the Guild to report, and then I’ll head to the Ancient Dragon Temple.”
I told Lilith and the others.
I’d been thinking about it since the battle with Electra.
We might be attacked by other Skill Holders again.
Lilith and the others might get involved again.
Even if I don’t want to fight, the enemy might attack us unilaterally.
That’s why I want to hone my skills more.
“The Ancient Dragon Temple?”
“It’s an ancient ruin in Elios City.”
I explained to the inquiring Lilith.
“Are you accepting a request to explore it?”
“No, it’s not that…”
I trailed off.
The scene I saw in Electra’s prophecy.
The possibility that the goddess mentioned of me gaining more power.
The place that holds the key to that is the Ancient Dragon Temple.
But I can’t talk about divine skills to Lilith and the others… how should I explain this?
“I’ll go with you, Haruto.”
Luca looked at me.
“No, I definitely want to go.”
She brought her face close.
As usual, she was expressionless, but there was a strong light in her eyes.
“Oh, Luca is being proactive. It’s a date at the ruins!”
“Wait, Luca. When did you start feeling that way about Haruto-kun?”
Lilith was flustered, while Alice was excited.
“Date?”
Luca looked puzzled.
“I asked Electra for a reading. She said the key to gaining power is at the Ancient Dragon Temple.”
“To gain power?”
“I want to become stronger.”
──So Luca has her own reasons.
“We don’t know what we might find at the ruins. I’ll handle the sword, Haruto the defense. It’s a good combination.”
“That’s true. Then let’s go together.”
──One week from now, on the night of the new moon. We will visit the ancient temple in Elios City──
I recalled Electra’s words.
“According to her prophecy, we should go on the night of the new moon in a week.”
“A week later…”
Luca frowned slightly.
“I would prefer to go immediately. I want to get stronger as soon as possible.”
She said, looking at me.
Her eyes seemed to soften a bit.
Hmm, what’s going on?
“…But if Haruto says so, I’ll wait.”
“You’re being quite obedient…”
“Following Haruto-kun rather than seeking strength… what’s gotten into you, Luca?”
Lilith and Sarome looked surprised.
“It’s the power of love!”
Alice was excited again.
“L-Love…?”
Luca blushed.
No, it’s not good to link everything to love stories…
After that, we returned to the royal capital, Grand Adonis.
“Welcome back, Sister!”
When we arrived at the Guild branch, a girl with semi-long red hair ran up.
It was Ivy.
“Thank goodness you’re safe──”
Ivy, on the verge of tears, hugged Luca.
Luca hugged her back, patting her head soothingly.
“I was told that you disappeared right after you left for another town on a request…”
Ivy sobbed.
“I’m sorry for making you worry.”
“…Could it be that Haruto Riva saved you?”
Ivy looked at me from Luca’s chest.
“Yes.”
“…I see.”
Ivy gave me a sullen look.
She’s still prickly towards me.
“Well, I should at least thank you. Thanks.”
She blushed and looked away.
“I’m glad both of you are safe.”
Said the receptionist, Jeanette, with her black hair in a bun, as she approached from the hallway.
She often introduced me to jobs.
It seemed to be her break time.
“Perfect timing.”
Luca said to Jeanette.
“I’m going to Elios City, so I’ll submit a request later.”
“Elios City… a city in the Kingdom of Salla. When will you be going?”
“In six days.”
Luca replied.
“A request?”
“Oh, for S-rank adventurers, we submit a request form when traveling to other countries to ensure we can be contacted in emergencies.”
Jeanette explained to me.
So there’s a rule like that.
“To relax before that, how about we all go to the beach?”
Lilith suddenly suggested.
“We’ve been working non-stop lately. Let’s take a little vacation. A day at the beach.”
“I’m in!”
Sarome raised her hand excitedly.
“Haruto, look forward to seeing me in a swimsuit!”
“Then you’ll be in a swimsuit too, Sister!”
Ivy shouted, her eyes sparkling.
“I want to train with my sword, but…”
“Taking a break is also part of training, they say.”
Alice comforted the confused Luca.
“Luca, let’s go together.”
“You’re right. Refreshing is important.”
I encouraged Luca.
“…Alright.”
“If Sister is going, of course, I’ll accompany her!”
Ivy shouted enthusiastically.
“I’d like to invite Meriel too, but she’s currently visiting her hometown…”
Alice sighed.
Come to think of it, I haven’t seen her lately.
Anyway, it was decided that we would all go to the beach for a day──.
