Chapter 64
64. The Sky
A few days after the battle with the two demons. I returned to the royal capital.
This morning, I went to the guild to look for a new job when I heard.
“We meet again, Haruto Riva.”
She stood boldly near the entrance.
A girl around twelve or thirteen with fiery red hair in a semi-long cut.
She was petite, about chest-high to me, wearing armor like a bikini.
But because of her childlike figure, there was no allure at all.
“…Were you just thinking something rude?”
She—Ivy—glared at me.
“Gulp.”
“Gulp?”
“N-No, I was just thinking about how you helped me out last time… haha.”
Feeling a bit pressured, I shifted my gaze to the figure behind her.
“Thanks to your cooperation, we were able to swiftly defeat the demons.”
“Oh, it’s Haruto! Good morning!”
A knight with short blue hair and a dancer with long purple hair.
They were Luca and Sarome.
“Are you all here to look for jobs too?”
“No, Sarome and I already have a new mission. We’re about to leave.”
“Our destination is Bara City in the north. We’re tasked with eliminating wild monsters.”
She explained in her usual calm tone.
“Bara City is a bit far since it’s near the border, but it’s famous for its hot springs. I can’t wait to soak in the hot springs and eat delicious food… hehe, I’m so excited.”
In contrast to Luca, Sarome looked extremely happy.
She seemed to be in full tourist mode.
“There are several places where monsters appear. So it might take about two weeks. We’ll be apart for a while.”
“Are you going to miss Hart?” Salome teased Luka with a mischievous tone.
No way, this cool girl would—
“…!”
Why is your face turning red, Luca?
It was a rare expression for her.
“That’s a surprising reaction.”
Salome astonished.
“I-I’m not lonely or anything… I just…”
Luca mumbled, turning her face away.
“Well, okay then. See you, Haruto.”
Sarome hugged me tightly.
Wearing her revealing dancer’s outfit, her soft skin pressed directly against me.
And her well-endowed chest was pushed hard against me.
I could see her breasts squishing in a suggestive shape against my chest.
Ugh, this is so lewd—
“What are you doing clinging to each other in the guild?”
A suddenly angry voice came from behind.
Turning around, I saw Lilith standing there with a twisted expression.
It seemed today was a day to meet one person after another.
“Hehe, we won’t see each other for a while, so I was saying goodbye.”
For some reason, Sarome clung to me even more, as if to show off to Lilith.
The closeness increased, and her breasts… her breasts… whoa.
“Y-You’re too close!”
“Oh my, this looks like a battlefield~”
Next to the shouting Lilith was Alice, looking oddly pleased.
“Haha, she’s jealous. How cute.”
“I-I don’t think it’s good to do this in public.”
Lilith said, blushing.
“Hmm? Hmm? Did something happen between you and Haruto that I don’t know about?”
Sarome snorted.
“You look more like a ‘girl in love’ than before.”
“L-L-L-Love, I’m not, I mean…!”
Lilith shouted in panic.
“Lilith is inexperienced, after all~”
“If you don’t hold onto the man you like, someone else might take him. Bye now~”
With a snap and a wink, Sarome left with Luca.
“…You’re quite the ladies’ man, aren’t you, Haruto Riva?”
Ivy glared at me with upturned eyes.
“Swooning over them.”
“It’s not like I’m swooning…”
──Yes, I was.
“And who are these two?”
Still glaring, she asked, so I introduced Lilith and Alice.
“I’ve heard about you from my sister! Nice to meet you!”
Ivy’s attitude changed immediately.
“I’m Ivy Larsworth. Pleased to meet you.”
Ivy looked at Lilith and Alice with sparkling eyes.
“Both of you are as beautiful as my sister said. I admire you…”
“Thank you.”
“You’re cute too, Ivy~”
Lilith and Alice smiled.
“To get to know each other better, would you like to have tea somewhere? My sister’s friends are my friends…! I’d be so happy to become friends with such beautiful people.”
Ivy eagerly leaned in, her eyes shining and her breathing heavy.
“Sure, Haruto can join us too. Right?”
Lilith invited me, her delicate smile making my heart ache.
Ever since our kiss the other day, I couldn’t help but be conscious of her whenever I saw her face.
“A guy doesn’t need to come. Let’s just have a fun girls’ meeting. Right? Right?”
Ivy objected.
“Well, since Haruto is here, let’s have him join us.”
Alice said with a smile.
“Lilith would be happy too.”
“O-Onee-chan, I…”
“Aren’t you happy?”
Alice’s smile deepened.
“…Y-Yes, maybe… heh.”
Blushing, Lilith nodded quietly.
“What do you think, Ivy? All four of us?”
“If they say so… well.”
Ivy reluctantly nodded.
“Men usually aren’t allowed, but I’ll make an exception, Hart Reaver.”
“Thanks, Ivy.”
“Getting thanked so directly… throws me off.”
Ivy turned away, pouting. Her stubborn but shy nature was quite charming.
So, we went to the café inside the guild.
We drank tea and chatted—mostly girl talk—when a sudden tremor struck.
“What was that…!?”
We looked out the café window.
“The sky—”
Lilith pointed upwards.
A black hole had appeared.
A Syrega.
An interdimensional passage connecting this world to the demon world.
Its appearance meant—
The next moment, five-colored lights sparkled from beyond the hole.
Red, blue, green, yellow, purple—
Five lights fell upon the capital like shooting stars.
The tremor was even more intense than before.
“What is that—!?”
Does it mean demons or beasts have descended?
And five of them at once.
