I Was Reborn in Another World, But I Awoke Inside a Corpse

Chapter 135: Chapter 136: The World Reacts

Chapter 136: The World Reacts

The sky fractured.

It wasn't lightning. It wasn't mana. It was system light—a language older than gods, older than time, suddenly burned across the heavens in silver fire.

Every man, woman, child, demon, king, beast, and spirit looked up as the words appeared.

[WORLD MESSAGE – SYSTEM ANNOUNCEMENT][Beelzebub – Great Demon of Gluttony – has been slain.][Slain by: Isaac]

No titles.

No grand claims.

Just a name.

The world stopped.

A sword master atop a frozen peak let her blade slip from trembling fingers.A war general in the northern wastes forgot the strategy in his mouth.A dragon mid-flight paused mid-wingbeat, stunned by a death it thought impossible. And somewhere in a forbidden swamp, a cult to Gluttony collapsed in mass convulsions of disbelief.

Beelzebub had died.

Not faded. Not retreated.

Slain.

And by Isaac—a name unknown to most.

But not for long.

High Above – Where Gods Bled

Light clashed against greed in the realm beyond mortal comprehension.

Freya, Goddess of Beauty and Harmony, stood broken—one arm hanging limp, golden hair tangled and matted with ichor. Her radiant armor, once pristine, was cracked down the chest. Her spear trembled in her bloodied grip.

Across from her towered Mammon, Great Demon of Greed.

His form shimmered between tyrant and beast—half made of gold, half of void. Chains dragged behind him like the debts of empires. His voice coiled through the cosmos like silk soaked in poison.

"You're finished, Freya," Mammon growled. "The World Tree is already dying."

Freya raised her spear. Her breath came in gasps, but her eyes still burned.

"If I fall," she whispered, "I'll fall defending life."

Mammon lunged forward—and then the heavens split open.

A new light. A new message.

Even here, it could not be denied.

[Beelzebub – Great Demon of Gluttony – has been slain.][Slain by: Isaac]

Mammon froze.

Chains snapped in midair. His eyes widened in utter disbelief.

"No…" he muttered. "That bloated fool… He's gone?"

Freya stared at the message in stunned silence. Her mouth parted—but no words came.

Mammon turned.

Without another word, without finishing the blow, he vanished—consumed by golden light, his exit as abrupt as it was cowardly.

Freya collapsed to one knee, gasping for breath.

"He… ran…" she whispered. "He ran from a mortal's name."

Her gaze turned downward.

"Isaac… what are you?"

In Elaraiya – The Tree Breathes Again

The roots of Yggdrasil pulsed with light.

Where rot once spread, warmth returned. Glowing veins of mana surged like rivers of life through the ancient bark.

Priests wept.

Scholars scrambled.

Aelira stood on a balcony of the Royal Observatory, eyes wide as the sacred tree's rhythm returned for the first time in days.

"Report," she barked.

A mage stammered, voice shaking. "The decay… has stopped. Energy flow is… stabilizing."

Aelira exhaled and turned to the other councilors.

"There's no more doubt," she said. "He didn't just survive the Abyss. He purged it."

That evening, the Council of Six named Isaac—

"Flame of the Depths."

A ceremonial title. A shield to hide their awe. And a veiled attempt to claim him.

But none dared summon him yet.

Not when his name still echoed across every corner of the world.

In the Grand Spire of Arx Aurelia

Seers collapsed in gilded halls, blood pouring from their eyes as fate lines rewrote themselves mid-chant.

The Archon-King of Arx Aurelia sat in silence, reading the message burned into the air. He turned to his chamberlain.

"A mortal," he said slowly. "A mortal just slew a god."

The chamberlain whispered, "Your Majesty, shall we prepare contingencies?"

"No," the king said. "We send an emissary. Immediately. I want him found… before anyone else dares to kneel."

In the Abyss – Realm of Lust

A mirror of crimson vapor shimmered in a palace of temptation and starlight.

Asmodeus, the Great Demon of Lust, lounged upon a throne of rose-gold velvet, her gown clinging to skin the color of twilight and flame.

She traced Isaac's name into the air with one perfect finger, her lips curled in a smile both amused and romantic.

"Beelzebub, you disgusting glutton. You finally met your end."

She sighed, dreamy.

"But this Isaac…" she whispered. "So strong. So defiant. So… untouched."

She leaned forward slightly, resting her chin on her palm, her expression gleaming with delight.

"Maybe I won't fight him. Not yet. Maybe I'll court him instead."

She giggled softly—like falling rose petals.

"I wonder… if he's the type who blushes."

Back Beneath the Tree

Isaac leaned against the roots of Yggdrasil, eyes closed.

He was covered in grime, blood, and dried mana ash. His armor was cracked at the ribs, his fingers still stiff from channeling too much raw power—but he was alive.

Sylvalen knelt beside him, brushing his hair back from his brow.

"You changed the world," she said gently.

"I didn't mean to," he muttered.

Lira sat on the other side, tossing a pebble at the base of a nearby wall. "You always say that when you break something important."

Isaac cracked a tired grin. "Next time, I'll ask permission."

Sylvalen's hand rested over his chest, above his heart. "Just… don't disappear."

He didn't answer aloud.

But he didn't pull away.

Aelira's Approach

Aelira came alone.

She stopped three steps from Isaac, still kneeling. For once, she didn't lead with pride or questions. Only a quiet voice.

"I don't understand you, Isaac. But I've seen enough to stop fearing you."

She held out a silver rune-sigil—an access token.

"The Royal Root Archives. All of it. No seals. No restrictions."

He took it.

"Thank you," he said.

And nothing more needed to be said.

Closing

The night was still.

The silver flame of the World Message had faded from the sky. But its echo lingered—across the mountains, the Abyss, the celestial planes, and the hearts of those who watched the world too closely.

And whether they whispered it in fear, awe, or longing, all spoke the same name:

Isaac.
