I Was a Loner, but My Class Got Summoned to Another World…

Chapter 385: Abyssborn Ogre

Tied down by two massive shadows and weakened by Lisa's holy strike, the ogre seemed out of options.

It looked like the fight was over, or so everyone thought.

Suddenly, the creature's body swelled—its muscles tightening, veins pulsing with surging mana. It was preparing for one final attempt to break free.

But Logan was ready.

He stepped in, activating Voice of Authority—the skill he had saved for this exact moment. His voice surged with power, amplified by the skill's magic, and he spoke directly into the ogre's ear.

"Stop!"

The word hit like a thunderclap, and the ogre froze.

In that instant, Logan began the taming process.

He moved fast—this wasn't a creature he could afford to tame slowly. The pressure it was produced seem to be affecting the darkness element around it. But it was not helping the creature, with Logan's blood already drawn, and cast it onto the ogre's unmarked flesh, the battle of minds began.

The beast sensed it immediately.

It thrashed harder than before—not just physically, but mentally. Its mind surged in defense, fighting back against the invading force trying to settle into its soul.

But Logan didn't stop.

He leaned in, his voice dropping low, pulsing with power.

"Accept," he whispered, again and again, with the full force of Voice of Authority behind each word.

The ogre's strength began to falter.

It could no longer cast skills. No longer channel mana. No longer resist the way it had before. Its movements grew slower—not from exhaustion, but from something deeper.

It was no longer fighting to win; it was fighting not to lose what it believed to be freedom.

And it was losing, seconds began to go by, and then a minute, everyone kept their eyes glued on the situation, the only ones moving were Serana and her minions, who were still fighting in the background.

Then finally the Ogre accepted its fate, it did so out of exhaustion, it no longer fought back, letting the red mark for on its exposed torso.

Logan quickly named it and waited to check its stats.

The large fiend was beginning to evolve.

Everyone stepped back to see what would happen.

────────༺༻────────Name: Juggernaut / Species: Abyssborn Ogre / Level: 66 / Blood Mark: Left Pectoral / Loyalty: 6/100Strength: 121 / Agility: 42 / Dexterity: 39 / Constitution: 110 / Intelligence: 34 / Charisma: 15────༺༻────

[Skills:]

Crushing Horns: The ogre channels darkness into its horns before charging, converting brute force into piercing shadow damage. Can break magical barriers or dispel low-rank wards.

Dark Rend: With each slam of its fists, a wave of darkness tears across the ground. The rend causes slow and vulnerability for 3 seconds on enemies caught in the radius.

Devour Essence: When an enemy within close range dies, the ogre can absorb lingering shadow or death-aspected mana, restoring a portion of its health and reducing incoming damage temporarily.

Nighthowl Smash: Lets out a warped roar that disorients those within 20 meters. Follow-up attacks immediately after the roar deal bonus damage and cause knockback.

Umbral Carapace (Passive): The ogre's skin is laced with abyssal energy. Grants constant resistance to light and holy magic. All physical attacks have a 20% chance to create shadow clones that absorb damage.

Abyss Slam: The ogre leaps and channels weight and shadow into a devastating ground-pound. Creates a crater of darkness that slows, binds, and corrupts the terrain for 8 seconds.

It had only grown a meter with its first evolution, now standing just over five meters tall. But even at that size, Logan was astounded by the sheer presence the creature radiated.

Its Strength and Constitution were off the charts.

This wasn't just a brawler. It was born to be a front-line tank.

If I just get some proper armor on it… Logan thought. It'll become a real juggernaut. A perfect wall.

The ogre's form had refined after the evolution.

Two long, curved horns now protruded from its skull, smooth and sharp, arching back while at times radiating what looked like a dark flame. Its face was more defined than before—humanoid even—with a jawline that gave it an unsettling mix of brute and nobility.

The body had changed also, losing much of its thick, wild hair. All except for its waist, where a dense ring of fur still clung like natural made shorts.

Its eyes glowed deep violet, and from within its body pulsed more than just darkness elemental mana. Logan's gaze narrowed as he sensed the second element in his creatures body, it was Abyss.

It was the same energy Serana wielded. Chaotic, corrupt, and somewhat primordial.

Logan realized it wasn't just rare—it was spreading. Some of the dark creatures lurking around the battlefield had traces of it, too. Even a few of the Scorpicores radiated faint abyssal signatures.

It was like a mutation of darkness, or so Logan guessed, it was one of the many questions he hoped to answer once he reached the Temple of Darkness, and—if fortune allowed—spoke with the Great Spirit that governed it.

For now, he waited.

The ogre—Juggernaut was still adjusting to its new form. The pain of evolution was short-lived, but the aftershocks remained. Creatures needed time to accommodate the new intelligence that came with evolution.

Logan watched closely, wondering just how smart this one had become.

[Are you doing better now? Can you speak?] he asked, sending the thought through the Empathic Link, curious if—like Kryst—this humanoid beast could manage actual words.

"Can…" came the first broken attempt, and it paused before switching its method of communication.

[Easier with mind… I will work on speaking. Can you wait?] the ogre's mental voice replied.

Logan nodded, his voice calm. "There's no problem. Everyone relax. We're heading back to recover and regroup. I'll speak with our new friend and try to learn what's really happening here."

The tension began to fade from the group.

Serana rejoined them shortly after, carrying several large stingers wrapped in shadowy cloth. She presented them to Logan without a word before storing them neatly into her personal storage rings.

"Thanks, Serana," Logan said with a faint smile. "We'll make good use of these. I wonder if Omar—the alchemist hero—can craft something with them when we see him…"

The next destination would likely be the Empire, and finishing their business here.

And with it… the coming war.
