Chapter 377: False Deity — Round One
This creature was truly something from another world.
Its resistance to heat was understandable—any world had fire so resistance to it could be universal—but light was also bouncing off it. Logan didn't understand. Wasn't light supposed to be the bane of the creature before him?
He continued to expand Holy Nova, already feeling that sixty percent of his mana had been drained. Scorch took the lead, frustrated that his infernal beams had done no damage. He now used Flarestorm, his strongest move. The tamed blazing tyrannosaurus surrounded himself with a vortex of fire, amplified further by his molten scales.
Logan began to walk away—he didn't have the mana left to shield himself from the flaming tornado that was forming around Scorch.
Even darkness mana began to get absorbed into the vortex. It sucked in everything around it.
Logan, still channeling Holy Nova, finally saw the creature emerge fully from the portal. It looked like a mutated bat merged with a giant. The red, pulsing body made him feel nauseous. It was grotesque—like the summoning from another world had gone wrong and left the body partially ruined. Hopefully, that would have weakened the creature in an way and be enough to help them in the battle against the diety.
The giant vampire immediately began rampaging—its target clear.
Logan, the boy casting a light based skill.
The Holy Nova was too dangerous and the creature perfectly knew that.
But Scorch wasn't any weaker. His Flarestorm began to finally concentrate on the godly menace. Scorch, having reached the peak of his power, walked forward, guiding the inferno. Fire began to eat away at the vampire's skin as it got closer to Logan. It had to retreat as its flesh boiled, though it still somehow used the darkness miasma to recover.
What it didn't expect was the lava building beneath it—rocks caught in the storm were now dangerous missiles, even Logan had to dodge them.
Then, Logan threw Holy Nova like a massive beach ball. He couldn't stand being there any longer his armor was beginning to feel like he was wearing steel which was being placed in a furnace. Using his wings, he took flight, enhancing himself with wind magic to become a bullet.
He even used Shadow Step to get further away. Scorch took center stage, his flaming form now entering a supernova, preparing to slam his massive skull into the false deity.
Logan looked back, curious what his Holy Nova would do in the mix. Thankfully, it wasn't destroyed. Instead, it fused with the flaming storm, bypassing the darkness energy and adding holy magic to the Flarestorm. The divine power also healed Scorch's minor wounds.
Scorch clashed in close combat with the giant vampire. It tried to escape, to heal before Holy Nova exploded—but it was too late. The large bomb struck it first, holy energy eating away at its already boiling flesh.
Logan saw it. The creature was taking massive damage—yet it was still healing. No normal creature could do that. It was truly a deity from another world.
Tired and nearly out of mana, Logan focused on healing himself enough to return to battle. The Flarestorm had shrunk. Scorch looked spent, but in better shape than the vampire.
At least, until it began to rapidly regenerate.
That was when Lisa and the others arrived.
Logan's eyes lit up with hope. He immediately began casting Lisa's new and powerful skill—Radiant Spear of Judgment. He noticed at a distance—Lisa was flying toward them, also casting the same spell.
[Glad you made it. I don't think Scorch or I would have lasted. It's a vampire, so it's probably going to be your kill!] Logan said, focusing hard. Luckily, this skill had a shorter cast time.
[Fine by me, just let me finishing casting this!] Lisa replied she was about half a kilometer away.
The lance of light began to form above Logan—but darkness began to eat away at it. The Flarestorm, along with the vampire sucking in darkness mana, had cleared a whole kilometer around them, but the miasma was slowly starting to return.
Scorch did everything he could to keep the creature's attention, whipping his tail and biting at it. He took heavy wounds that caused blood to gush, but he also tore off one of the vampire's arms and half of a leg.
Then, the vampire giant flew into the sky—just as Logan's spear fell, hitting it like a divine arrow the size of a tree. The light mana exploded with force, and the creature was sent crashing back down.
Lisa closed in, her own huge spear overhead now ready.
It fell like a hammer of judgment, impaling the creature a second time. Her version of the skill was twice the size—enhanced by Lightborn Authority, her once-a-day powerup.
She didn't stop.
Her next five strikes using her blessed spear triggered smaller versions of Radiant Spear of Judgment, each one bursting like a shotgun around her weapon. The limbs that were trying to regenerate were pierced again and again.
Scorch bit off the remaining hand, while Lisa's glowing spear struck again. It now shone like the sun, causing incurable damage to the fallen deity.
Rubina and Uriel flew in—but before they could strike, a roar called them back.
Wyver descended from above.
Scorch, sensing the sudden drop in temperature, backed away. His part in the battle was done. Logan, using the last of his mana, healed his large dinosaur's puncture wounds—left by the vampire's massive claws while patting his large face that looked made that his kill was going to be taken.
And then it ended.
Wyver, his icy jaw clenched, bit down and tore off the creature's head.
The battle was over.
Logan felt the change in the air, the shift of mana and pressure.
But Serana, arriving last, suddenly shouted—
"Leave it! It isn't done yet. It only lost its form!"
Her minions were right behind her, all five of them seemed tired from having fought something just before coming to help.
