I Want To Move In Next Door

Chapter 5: Chapter 5 Unfamiliar (1) _1

However, the issue was not serious and would not affect her gathering tonight, but just to be safe, she drank a packet of Banlangen after breakfast.

She stayed at home in the afternoon, sleeping groggily for four hours before slowly getting up to prepare for the evening gathering.

They'd agreed to meet at "Golden Splendor" at eight in the evening, so Xia Wan'an didn't leave the house until seven thirty.

When she arrived at "Golden Splendor", it was just past eight, but the private room was already filled with several people.

The gathering was arranged by Han Zhijin, so most of the people there were his friends.

Han Zhijin was the son of Han Jingnian's older brother and called Han Jingnian 'Uncle'. He was the same age as Xia Wan'an and had been her classmate from elementary school to high school. If Han Zhijin hadn't gone abroad for college, they would have been college classmates as well.

Among Han Zhijin's friends, several were his and Xia Wan'an's high school classmates, including Song Youman who had grown up with Xia Wan'an, and Ai Jiang who became really familiar with Xia Wan'an in college even though they were already high school classmates.

When Xia Wan'an arrived, neither Song Youman nor Ai Jiang had shown up. Han Zhijin had been chatting away with his friends, but he immediately rushed over when he saw her.

Her marriage to Han Jingnian was known only to their two families and not many others. So, whenever Han Zhijin bumped into Xia Wan'an outside, he still greeted her with the same 'Good evening' as he had before.

Not long after Xia Wan'an sat down, Ai Jiang arrived. Now that someone was accompanying Xia Wan'an, Han Zhijin took off.

The number of people in the room kept increasing, but Song Youman was nowhere to be seen. Xia Wan'an couldn't resist picking up her phone and texted Song Youman, asking her where she was.

Song Youman replied immediately, "I'll be there soon."

Xia Wan'an didn't reply to Song Youman's message, she just put her phone away. The door to the room opened again a second later.

She thought Song Youman had arrived and raised her head instinctively towards the door, but when she saw who was there, the word 'Youman' that she had been about to call out froze on her lips.

Never in her wildest dreams did Xia Wan'an imagine that Han Zhijin would invite his Uncle, also her husband —— Han Jingnian.

Han Jingnian carried the air of a born leader, his presence was overpowering. Even though his expression was gentle at the moment, he still exuded a strong oppressive aura. Hence, the moment he entered, the room fell silent.

The attention of everyone in the room was on him. Yet he remained indifferent, not even a flicker of emotion could be detected in his eyes.

Three seconds later, Han Zhijin stood up abruptly and greeted reflexively in an orderly manner, "Hello, Uncle."

Han Jingnian did not respond, but he looked at Xia Wan'an who sat deeper in the room. However, he soon withdrew his indifferent gaze and gave a slight nod to Han Zhijin.

With his action, the atmosphere in the room noticeably improved.

"Uncle, please sit!" Han Zhijin spoke again, his voice more relaxed than before. As he spoke, he patted an empty space next to him and then motioned for Han Jingnian to sit down, even pouring a drink for him.

Han Jingnian did not pick any particular seat and sat down where Han Zhijin had indicated.

Xia Wan'an was unsure whether it was deliberate on the part of Han Zhijin, but Han Jingnian now sat right beside her.
