Chapter 9: We're home
Night passed… and morning came Azrael and his father immediately goes back home…
Azrael and his father arrived at the front door of their home. As they knocked, Azrael's mother rushed to open it.
To her surprise and relief, she saw her husband and son standing there, alive and well. She burst into tears. "I thought I'd lost you both," she sobbed uncontrollably.
Azrael's father quickly embraced her to soothe her crying, then Azrael stepped forward to hug her as well.
"What happened to you both? I was so worried," Azrael's mother asked, her voice trembling.
Azrael's father replied, "We were captured in a goblin village in the forest. Azrael came and saved us. I thought we were going to die, especially with the goblin chief there, but Azrael... surprised us with his magic."
"Magic?" Azrael's mother blinked in disbelief. She turned to look at Azrael. "Since when do you have magic?"
Azrael glanced down for a moment before answering. "When we were on the brink of death, something inside me awakened. That's when I was able to use magic. That's how I saved you."
His father nodded. "What's even more surprising is that his magic can summon skeletons to fight for him. At first, I couldn't believe it, but Azrael has full control over them."
"Summoning skeletons?" Azrael's mother repeated, clearly confused. "I've never heard of such magic. Most magic discovered by common folk involves nature powers—fire, water, wind, earth... But summoning? That's unheard of."
Azrael's father smiled gently. "Whatever the case, as long as we're together, I'm happy. That's all that matters."
Azrael's mother wrapped her arms around him tightly. "Thank you, son, for saving your father. I will forever be indebted to you."
Azrael returned the hug, his voice firm but soft. "You don't need to thank me, Mother. I would do the same regardless of the risk. It's my responsibility, as your son, to protect both of you. I won't let anything harm you while I'm here."

After everything settled down, Azrael immediately ventured to the local library, seeking for answers.
(Even my parents have no idea about my summoning magic...) Azrael thought to himself. (Could this magic be unique to this world? I need to find some answers.)
Hours passed as Azrael combed through countless books on magic history, but there wasn't a single mention of summoning magic. The closest thing he could think of was dark magic, but he knew the dark magic used in this world was nothing like the power he wielded.
(I need more answers. Perhaps testing my abilities outside the village will help. I should hunt monsters to level up.)
