I Truly Am The Villian

Chapter 1138: Searching for Zhuo Qiu, the Flourishing Capital Chang'an

"Who?" the Seven-faced Demon General hastily inquired.

"Old Zhuoqiu," Xu Zimei articulated word by word.

Back in Beiluo City, this Old Zhuoqiu had assisted him.

Miss Jing had mentioned that his master Gongyang Ce and Old Zhuoqiu were known as the Twin Heroes, eminent figures in the Way of Heavenly Secrets within the Mortal Domain.

However, originally Old Zhuoqiu gave him the last chapter of the Heavenly Secret Technique for free, but refused to calculate the whereabouts of the Xuanyuan Sword for him.

Miss Jing is untrustworthy, and so is Gongyang Ce, but Xu Zimei had a premonition that Old Zhuoqiu would not harm him.

He had previously refrained from killing Miss Jing and Gongyang Ce, also wanting to recruit them.

If the great Heavenly Secret Technique truly exists and knows everything, then it would be greatly beneficial to him.

Unfortunately, in the end, both Miss Jing and Gongyang Ce turned out to be insidious people.

The purpose of Miss Jing's existence was to guide him into a trap.

"Since parting in Beiluo City, does my lord know the whereabouts of Old Zhuoqiu?" Bai Meng inquired.

Xu Zimei snapped his fingers, and a wisp of Demonic Qi emerged in his palm.

"This wisp of Demonic Qi will lead me to him," Xu Zimei said.

Originally, he had left a wisp of Demonic Qi on Miss Jing, Old Zhuoqiu, and Gongyang Ce respectively, just in case.

Unfortunately, he could no longer sense the Demonic Qi on Miss Jing and Gongyang Ce.

Only on Old Zhuoqiu was there still a sensation of Demonic Qi.

After chatting with Bai Meng and the others for a while, Xu Zimei left the Divine Continent.

His gaze returned to the room in the Great Saint Palace.

Upon opening his eyes, his Divine Soul and body fully merged.

His eyes grew even deeper, and the third eye on his forehead was originally the Eyes of Reincarnation.

But ever since the Demon Heart was restored and the strength of the Prison Suppressor Demon Body surged, more and more power began to flow toward the center of his forehead.

The Demonic Qi seemed to want to invade that third eye.

What this would ultimately lead to, Xu Zimei did not stop.

He stood up, his eyes and black hair seemingly growing even darker.

Opening the room door, Xie Changliu was dutifully guarding at the door.

"No one came looking for me, right?" Xu Zimei asked.

"Someone from the Pill Tower came once wanting to pay you a visit, but they have already left," Xie Changliu replied.

"Then let's go," Xu Zimei nodded.

Leaving the Great Saint Palace, Xu Zimei also knew that his journey to Brahma Demon City was coming to an end.

The Demonic Qi in his palm surged, continuously guiding him towards the east.

He no longer refused Xie Changliu's offer to accompany him.

Instead, he summoned Chaos and rode together with Xie Changliu towards the east.

...…

Half a month later,

Chaos had been flying for who knows how long, but the location of Old Zhuoqiu marked by the Demonic Qi was still not in sight.

It seems that they still had to head further east.

However, having traveled a long and dusty road, the two passed through a very prosperous city, and Xu Zimei decided to stop and rest for a while.

After they descended from the back of Chaos, they slowly approached the city.

Upon seeing the magnificent city walls, two extremely large characters were inscribed.

"Chang'an."

The Flourishing Capital, Chang'an.

The city teemed with life, bustling with people coming and going.

Walking into the city, there were lion dances and acrobats, and the streets were overflowing with people.

"It's really lively," Xu Zimei remarked.

"Chang'an is the capital of the founding of the six nations, naturally lively," Xie Changliu replied.

"This city has existed since the Middle Ages, having witnessed the shifts of six dynasties, and it is still as flourishing as ever."

"Let's rest here for the night and set off tomorrow," Xu Zimei suggested.

Xie Changliu nodded in agreement.

Passing through the bustling crowd, the two found an inn with relatively decent decor.

Upon entering the inn, because the first floor was mostly occupied and quite noisy, they were led by a waiter to the second floor.

Selecting the customary spot by the window overlooking the street.

Xie Changliu sat by the window, his gaze fixed unblinkingly on a large part of Chang'an from the second floor.

His eyes were deep and carried an indescribable emotion.

"The last dynasty here was the Emperor Ming Empire," Xie Changliu said quietly.

"The one established by Emperor Ming? I heard it was destroyed by the Time Emperor," Xu Zimei responded.

He had previously visited Emperor Ming's small world, where the latter had already died at the hands of the Witch Demon, or to put it precisely, his Divine Soul had been controlled by the Witch Demon.

So, he knew somewhat about it.

"That's right, after the Time Emperor destroyed the Emperor Ming Empire, this place was particularly barren," Xie Changliu replied.

"Later, after the Time Emperor left, the Zhou Family who had assisted Time Emperor in overthrowing the Emperor Ming Empire, took over this place.

They established a new empire, the Great Zhou."

"You seem to know a lot about this place," Xu Zimei commented.

"I started learning swordsmanship here in the Emperor Ming Empire when I was three years old and lived here for centuries. This place has long been like home to me.

It's just a pity that I was powerless when the Emperor Ming Empire fell; the Time Emperor was too strong," Xie Changliu reflected sadly.

"After spending nearly a thousand years in the small world of Edge of the Sky, End of the Sea, coming back now feels completely unfamiliar.

Everything is different from what I imagined."

As they were speaking, the inn's waiter had already brought the specialty dishes to their table.

"Enjoy your meal," the waiter said as he left, and just then, a group of people ascended the stairs to the second floor.

All were young men and women, dressed in exquisite long robes with an oval base.

All were in deep blue, with a crossed-swords emblem on the chest.

It was clear they were of no ordinary status.

This group of people, upon arriving, sat in a partitioned private room next to ours, separated by a screen.

The private room had no door, only a folding screen.

From Xu Zimei's angle, one could even peek into the private room.

"Junior Sister Yurou, did you grasp the Four Sword Technique our master taught today?" a young man asked.

"Overhead Chop, Swirling Strike, Straight Thrust, Reverse Strike—master said these four moves are both the foundation and the essence of swordsmanship.

If one can understand them, limitless sword moves can be developed," the gentle voice of a woman replied.

"Junior Sister Yu is still ignorant and hasn't grasped the techniques."

The group continued their cheerful discussion about sword moves.

Meanwhile, another figure ascended the staircase.

This person was dressed very much like a beggar.

In ragged and tattered clothes, unkempt and dirty, one could smell a foul stench from afar.

Furthermore, one of his legs was broken.

His hair covered his face, obscuring any clear view.

Silently limping up the stairs, he sat quietly in a corner of the second floor.

A waiter followed him, carrying the cheapest liquor.

"Just stay quiet in this corner, finish your drink quickly and leave, so the shopkeeper won't fuss at me again," the waiter said as he set down the liquor and quickly left.

The beggar just sat quietly in the corner, not speaking, merely drinking his liquor.

A short while later, the young men and women from the private room came out and immediately noticed the beggar.

"Look everyone, the once Sword Madman is here again begging for liquor," a young man laughed loudly.
