Chapter 42
“By the way, I just realized you haven’t introduced yourself yet. Now that things have settled down, would you mind doing so?”
“You’re right. Well then, let me formally introduce myself.
My name is Emma Magdanel. I studied hotel management at Harvard. My hobby is traveling. My charm point is my platinum blonde hair, inherited from my grandmother. I’m 27 years old. My birthday is September 24th.
I’m 168 cm tall, and as for my weight… I’d rather not say since I’ve gained a little recently.
My three sizes are, from the top, 94—”
Kirishima cut her off mid-sentence.
“So Swiss women nowadays introduce themselves down to such personal details, huh? Just so you know, I have no intention of engaging in anything remotely resembling sexual harassment!”
“Swiss women don’t give up just because the man they’re interested in has a girlfriend.
Personally, I’m fine with infidelity. As long as there’s love in both cheating and commitment, it’s all true love to me.
Being popular is proof of a man’s excellence. I don’t mind being whatever number in line, as long as you love me.”
With that, Emma brushed back her long platinum blonde hair and threw Kirishima a wink.
The idea that both cheating and commitment could be true love was quite a broad-minded, almost French way of thinking. Given that Switzerland has French-speaking regions, it wasn’t surprising that some French values had seeped in.
“I have no intention of cheating.”
Though Emma’s beauty had shaken him for a moment, Kirishima suppressed it with sheer willpower.
“Well, it wouldn’t be fun for me if the boss fell for me so easily.”
It seemed like she was just teasing him.
Seriously, that was close—I almost stepped through a new door. It was impossible to tell where she was joking and where she was serious, but at least they had grown closer. That was good enough for now.
“By the way, where are you planning to stay?”
“I want to go to the casino. Any recommendations?”
“Then it has to be Hôtel de Paris and Casino de Monte-Carlo.”
“Yeah, that makes sense. Could you book it for me?
Also, is there anything I should be careful about at Casino de Monte-Carlo?”
“Understood.
Monte-Carlo is the oldest casino in Monaco, so naturally, there is a dress code. The key is to dress in a way that commands respect and avoids offending others.
If anything, you’d stand out more if you weren’t dressed formally, so a tuxedo is practically a necessity.
Unlike Macau and Las Vegas, where the dress codes are more relaxed, Monaco still upholds this tradition.”
Hearing this, Kirishima regretted not having his tuxedo yet.
“I did buy a tuxedo, but since it was a full custom order, it hasn’t arrived yet.”
“When and where did you purchase it?”
“At Brioni in Tokyo, around early August.”
“We’ll expedite it.
The pattern should already be completed.”
Emma immediately started making a phone call.
“They’ll have it delivered to the closet in your room at Hôtel de Paris.
However, the other orders you placed will be delayed slightly. Is that acceptable?”
For Kirishima, there was no reason to refuse.
“That works.”
He was astonished that with just one call, the completion time had nearly been cut in half.
After telling him, “Leave the details to me,” Emma disappeared somewhere.
Now that he had secured accommodations in Monte-Carlo and had grown closer to Emma, he realized he had nothing to do until tomorrow’s departure.
“Might as well go somewhere.”
Grabbing his clutch, which contained cash and his usual essentials, Kirishima left his room.
“Where should I go?”
Deciding to shop for souvenirs, he headed to the DFS inside The Venetian Macao, the largest DFS in Asia.
Once inside, he spotted an Hermès store.
“Now that I think about it, I haven’t visited Hermès even once—not in Macau, Osaka, or Tokyo. Might as well check it out.”
Since this was “Asia’s largest DFS,” it seemed that the stores had carefully selected their merchandise, putting extra effort into their displays.
Hermès was no exception. The store’s selection was both refined and impactful, ensuring customers would remember it.
What caught Kirishima’s eye was a key case.
Until now, he had kept his car keys and house keys separately, but they had been piling up, and it was becoming a problem.
And there it was—an Hermès six-hook key case in classic cognac leather, with the brand’s signature emblem on the clasp.
With this, he could store both his house and car keys and still have space left over.
Without hesitation, he purchased it.
He had already spent a considerable amount on this solo trip, but he resolved to shop even more in Monaco before leaving the store.
“In Monaco, I’d like to buy a men’s Birkin from Hermès.”
Thinking about that, he returned to his room, ordered Japanese food through room service, and ended his day enjoying his meal.
