CHAPTER 339
CHAPTER 339:
The scene before them defied common sense, leaving the three Divine Realm experts outside in deep thought.
After a long pause, the Desolate Demon Lord spoke again. “Three years ago, Jiu Han seemed to have taken Qing Jue away from prison… The Divine Origin in the Boshi Tower now might be Qing Jue’s, right?”
“That’s impossible,” Jeros retorted, clearly at odds with the Desolate Demon Lord. “I don’t believe that the power of an array formation can transfer the Divine Origin of other Divine Realm experts!”
The Desolate Demon Lord fell silent. He had to admit, there was no precedent for such a thing. Divine Origin was an intensely private matter—Divine Realm experts could control only their own Divine Origin. They couldn’t control, let alone use, the Divine Origin of another. At most, they could use their own Divine Origin to cancel out that of others.
“In any case, I don’t care what’s happening within the Boshi Tower right now,” Jeros said, his temper flaring. “I refuse to believe I can’t handle the divine artifact Jiu Han left behind!”
Jeros unleashed his cold air hand once more, and this time, there were even more of them. Hundreds of cold hands manifested around him, clawing at Boshi Tower.
Just moments earlier…
Within the Boshi Tower, Lu Ming emerged from the void space. His first action was to open his attribute panel, his eyes scanning the display.
Dao of Array Formation: Lv203.
According to his earlier calculations, reaching level 200 in the Dao of Array Formations, combined with possession of the main control array, would be enough to unlock the full power of the Boshi Tower. Now, at level 203, Lu Ming felt the imprint of the master control array with newfound clarity, and a vast wave of understanding surged through his mind.
“I can fully control it now.”
Exactly as he’d expected, his mastery of array formations had advanced to the point where the entirety of the Boshi Tower’s power lay at his fingertips. With a single thought, the tower responded, moving as seamlessly as an extension of his own body.
Outside, Jeros’s assault continued. His icy hands clawed at the tower, dragging it skyward. But Lu Ming remained calm. With the Boshi Tower’s immense power now at his disposal, he could defend not only himself but others from even the mightiest Divine Realm experts.
A light began to pulse from the core control array on the back of his hand. Yet this array formation did more than simply control the tower—it served as a direct link between Lu Ming and the ancient structure itself.
Suddenly, a massive force emanated from the array. Lu Ming felt his energy being drawn toward it—not forcibly, but guided, as if seeking his permission to flow. He opened his attribute panel again, focusing on the seven-digit Divine Origin Points displayed.
“Convert Divine Origin Points into wandering Divine Origin energy,” he commanded. After a brief pause, he added, “Convert 1,000 points first.”
In an instant, radiant golden light exploded from within him. The conversion of 1,000 Divine Origin Points into wandering energy sent waves of golden brilliance coursing through his body, every pore emitting a dazzling glow.
As Lu Ming exerted his will, the core array pattern began to hum with life. The wandering Divine Origin energy within him, drawn like a tide by the pull of the array, surged forward, coursing through his body before flowing seamlessly into the Boshi Tower. The connection was immediate and potent, the immense power channeling effortlessly through the ancient structure.
Originally, Lu Ming had no way to harness the Divine Origin within him. While the system could convert Divine Origin Points into wandering energy, these forces behaved like an unruly army—immensely powerful but utterly disobedient. They surged through his body without purpose or control, rendering them strong, yet useless.
For the past three years, both he and Jiu Han had dedicated themselves to the study of the path of the Outer Dao God. Jiu Han had led the research, but their progress had slowed, becoming mired in uncertainty. Even after three years, no reliable solution had emerged. Though Lu Ming refrained from pressing him, he understood that research often required time, and even with enough of it, success was never guaranteed.
Yet while that path remained stalled, Lu Ming had found another way forward. In his own efforts, he had made an important breakthrough—he discovered how to channel the wandering Divine Origin within him.
He would become a battery—a living power source for the Boshi Tower.
Yes, this was the answer. By channeling his Divine Origin energy through the core array pattern, Lu Ming could transfer it directly into the Boshi Tower, allowing the tower to wield the energy autonomously. In effect, he was using the divine artifact as a conduit, granting him the power to resist even gods.
Elder Jiu Han had explained this principle long ago, and the modifications to the Boshi Tower had been in place for some time. Yet, it wasn’t until now—when Lu Ming’s mastery of array formations had reached level 203—that Jiu Han’s plan was fully realized.
As the Boshi Tower absorbed the vast influx of Divine Origin, it filled every corner of the ancient structure. The first casualty was Moonfiend’s trace of Divine Origin—obliterated in an instant, like a tsunami crashing against a brittle wall of mud, leaving nothing but ruin in its wake.
Lu Ming’s Divine Origin expanded further, colliding directly with Jeros’ icy hand. The Divine Origin within Jeros’ attack was minimal—no more than 0.01 points. Under ordinary circumstances, that fraction of power would have been more than sufficient to subdue an artifact like the Boshi Tower, which had no Divine Origin of its own.
But this time, Lu Ming’s 1,000 Divine Origin Points surged through the tower with overwhelming force. Not only did they stabilize the structure, but they shattered the icy hand’s hold entirely, forcing the Boshi Tower to settle firmly back onto the ground.
“This should buy some time,” Lu Ming muttered within the manor.
Without hesitation, he returned to the void space to further refine his array formation skills. The words of Jiu Han echoed in his mind:
“The path of an Outer Dao God demands profound mastery of the Dao of Array Formations.”
Now that the precedent of increasing his abilities had been set, Lu Ming saw no reason to stop. He would push it even further.
“I’ll set a small goal first… surpass Teacher Jiu Han.”
“Then, I’ll walk the path of the Outer Dao God on my own.”
Though he had more than enough Divine Origin Points and the Boshi Tower’s defenses were secure, simply holding his ground and waiting for the Aeonian reinforcements wasn’t enough to satisfy Lu Ming. That might fulfill the task Jiu Han had entrusted to him, but it wasn’t in Lu Ming’s nature to sit back and merely defend.
With the power of his Divine Origin Points and the formidable defense of the Boshi Tower, he was more than capable of holding the line—but defensive power alone wouldn’t be enough to launch a counterattack. If he wanted to strike back, he needed something more.
For now, his hopes rested on mastering the Dao of Array Formations.
Outside, hundreds of icy hands clawed fiercely at the Boshi Tower, doing everything in their power to tear it away. Yet, under the protective glow of the golden light, the tower remained unmoved—like an immovable titan, steadfast and unyielding.
Three agonizing minutes passed.
At last, Jeros withdrew his divine power. He glared at the tower, still standing resolutely in place, his expression darkening with rage.
