Chapter 238 Third Rank Mission Begins
A group of people was waiting in silence in the darkness.
Time slowly trickled away.
"The time has come," Lina suddenly spoke.
"Should we go out now?" one Contractor asked.
"Keep waiting. We need to wait for chaos to erupt in the factory. Everyone, be ready," Lina instructed.
A few minutes later, the ground suddenly began to shake.
No, it wasn't just the ground — the walls around them also started vibrating.
[Third phase mission commenced: Assist Lina in shutting down the main valve of the Clone Factory. Mission failure will result in instance clearance failure, and the bomb implanted in your bodies will explode.]
Hearing this, Mu Rufeng raised his eyebrows — so there really were bombs inside them?
He immediately said, "The mission has been issued, let's go."
"Move out, and stick close," Lina nodded and swiftly opened the storeroom's large door.
The rest, apparently already aware of the bombs, quickly got over the shock.
The group ran out at great speed.
As soon as Mu Rufeng exited, he immediately leaped to the top, effectively concealing himself beside the pipes.
Unless someone approached from the right side with a light, they would truly be unable to spot Mu Rufeng.
The group was once again startled by Mu Rufeng's actions, but seeing Lina run so quickly, they did not dare to delay and followed rapidly.
"Tap tap tap~~!"
Lina's rhythmic footsteps echoed throughout the quiet corridor.
It had to be acknowledged that having four legs was indeed faster; despite the other Contractors putting in their utmost effort, they fell further and further behind Lina.
"Lina, slow down. They're falling behind," Mu Rufeng called down to Lina.
"Alright," Lina replied, slowing her pace upon hearing this.
As Lina slowed down, the Contractors caught up.
The group maintained this speed, charging through the corridors.
They ran past many office areas and some labs, all of which were empty; it was evident that it was not working hours, and no one was inside.
After running for about seven or eight minutes, they arrived at a huge alloy iron gate.
Booming sounds!
Violent explosions came from above, and the walls shook even more intensely.
Lina ignored it, took out a small sphere, and tossed it onto the electronic screen to the left.
"It will take three minutes to hack the password. That will surely alert the Security Guards inside. Prepare for battle," Lina said.
"Miss Lina, what level are the guards inside?" Sun Guo asked.
"Don't worry. They're all Third Rank. The head of security is Level 5, but he's not at work today," Lina replied.
"The password is 775680," Mu Rufeng suddenly interjected.
"Huh?" Lina was somewhat bewildered.
"The password is 775680, and also, the Security Chief is at work; he's currently in Anna's office," Mu Rufeng added.
"Ah? Sir, are you sure? If the Security Chief is there, it's going to be troublesome," Lina's expression soured.
"He's my responsibility. Stop wasting time and hurry up," Mu Rufeng said coldly.
Lina hesitated for a moment before putting away her decoding device and entered the password.
"Hiss~~!" A deflating sound echoed.
Consequently, the alloy door began to slowly open to the right.
"Boom!" a loud crash sounded.
The ground shook violently, even making it difficult to stand.
At that moment, from the corridor opposite, a number of uniformed Abnormalities suddenly emerged.
Leading them was the Security Chief mentioned by Lina.
"Hmph, as expected. The factory manager mentioned there would be spies causing trouble tonight, but I didn't expect it to be you, Lina," Andrew sneered, his eyes fixed on Lina.
"Sir, it's up to you now." Lina was only a Level 4 Mysterious and had no chance against the Level 5 Andrew.
Most importantly, she didn't know what went wrong — how did the factory boss find out that someone would act tonight?
Was there a problem on her boss's side, or what?
Mu Rufeng descended from above, waving his Magic Wand, and suddenly, a huge Fireball burst forth.
"Boom!" a loud explosion.
The Fireball exploded, and the terrible flames immediately swept through the entire corridor.
Seeing the flames approaching, the Contractors reacted extremely fast and retreated hurriedly.
However, as the flames neared Mu Rufeng, they quickly converged into a fireball, which floated in the palm of his hand.
[Trigger successful: Destroyed a Level 5 Abnormality. Strength +0.3, Ghost Power +0.3%.]
...
After the fray, Strength +0.5, Constitution +0.3, Spirit +0.5 — one Level 5 Security Chief and ten Third-Rank Security Guards.
Then, numerous items and even soul banknotes fell onto the ground.
Mu Rufeng stepped forward and, guided by the ghost qi, collected them all into his Item Slot.
The others stood there, dazed, watching this scene unfold. They couldn't imagine how Mu Rufeng had instantly killed so many Abnormalities with a single move?
And that wasn't all; what was with the items bursting out from the ground? Monsters dropping loot?
At that moment, they suddenly remembered Mu Rufeng's technique — wasn't it a Skill belonging to a Fire Mage from the Wilderness Pioneer instance?
Even Sun Guo and another Contractor possessed a Skill, only theirs wasn't Fire Mage.
"What... what Skill is this?"
