I Reincarnated in Lorien Legacies(I am number four.)

Chapter 49: Chapter 41

Everyone took shifts keeping an eye on Malcolm's home, as well as Henri and Number Four's (John's) house.

Meanwhile, Alexander and Six had a new task: watching over John as he integrated into high school life. Surveillance wasn't just about shadows and whispers—it was about blending in, about knowing who to trust and who to fear.

Alexander reached into his tactical pouch, fingers closing around a pair of walnut-sized spheres—matte black with silver wings folded flush against their sleek frames. With a practiced flick of his wrist, he sent one into the air. The device responded instantly, its wings snapping open in a silent, fluid motion.

The SNITCH hovered for a heartbeat, catching the dim light as it adjusted to the environment. Then, in a blur, it shot skyward, slicing through the night like a phantom. Above the compound, it weaved intricate, unpredictable patterns—watching, listening, unseen. A design inspired by the Golden Snitch, repurposed for war.

Alexander retrieved his high-tech tablet, the transparent screen humming to life in his hands. A few swift taps, and the SNITCH's video feeds flickered onto the display. The compound unfolded before them in real time—every shadow, every movement, mapped with precision. A moment later, a holographic projection materialized in the center of the room, casting a soft glow over their faces.

Satisfied, Alexander tapped the tablet again. The SNITCHs shimmered briefly before vanishing from sight, slipping seamlessly into stealth mode.

Six sauntered over, dropping into the seat beside him. Her sharp eyes flicked between the floating holograms, scanning for threats.

"Anything interesting?" she asked, leaning in.

Alexander smirked, adjusting the feed. "Let's find out."

John stepped onto the school grounds under the alias 'John Smith,' a name as unremarkable as he was supposed to be. But fate had other plans.

They saw on Four or John on his first day, Sarah Hart greeted him with a warm smile and a camera flash. A moment frozen in time. Then came Sam Goode—a small, awkward kid with eyes that spoke of curiosity and loneliness. Sam warned him about Sarah's ex, Mark James. A classic schoolyard king, all arrogance and fists, already eyeing John like a threat.

From their small base near the school, Alexander and Six watched the encounter unfold. Six crossed her arms, a smirk playing at her lips. "What are the odds that Four just so happens to befriend Malcolm's son?"

Alexander hummed, thoughtful. "We tell Malcolm. He needs to know. If this keeps up, his kid's getting dragged into this mess."

Six scoffed, shaking her head. "Oh, he will. Kid's an alien conspiracy nut, and Four? He's making zero effort to blend in. Did you see that throw earlier? He flung that football with more strength than any NFL player."

Alexander nodded. "Reckless."

They continued watching as John entered his first class—Astronomy. A poetic irony. But before he could even settle in, Mark made his move. A well-placed foot, a quick trip, and John stumbled forward. Laughter rippled through the room.

John straightened, locking eyes with Mark. Tension crackled between them like a brewing storm. But then the teacher's voice cut in, and John reluctantly backed down, sliding into his seat.

That's when it happened.

John's head spins and his hands are burning.

A glow started at his palms, a faint, unnatural light beneath the skin. Then the burning, searing, unfamiliar and uncontrollable.

Since first seeing the light, John kept my hands clenched into fists. But it didn't stop glowing, pulsating. John started to panic.

He sits on the floor, sweat stinging my eyes. Both hands are in terrible pain. He knew to expect his Legacies, but he had no idea it would include this. He open my hands and my right palm is shining brightly, the light beginning to concentrate. His left is dimly flickering, the burning sensation almost unbearable.

Panic flickered across his face.

Outside, Alexander and Six exchanged glances. "Uh-oh," Six muttered.

Six knew one of the reasons there Cepans didn't want to let them to school is because they don't know when there legacies will awaken.

While inside, John fumbled with his phone, sending Henri a frantic, incoherent text. The moment the bell rang, he bolted, his pulse hammering as he shoved through the crowded hall.

Mark was waiting for him.

A shove. A sneer. A challenge.

But John didn't fight. He ran.

Straight into the photography room, locking the door behind him, his breath ragged. The glow pulsed brighter. He clenched his fists, pressing them against the cool surface of the desk, willing it to stop.

Henri would come.

He had to.

Outside, Alexander looking holographic video feed muttered."He developed his first legacy. It is the ability Lumen."

Six exhaled, shaking her head. "Yeah. This is going to be a problem."

Alexander taps through the tablet checking to see if anyone saw this. But he found Four was really lucky, everyone seems to consider it as a prank. Soon Six spotted Henri and muttered."Ohh, his cloak arrived quickly."

Alexander muttered."I heard from Katrina, that fours Copan Henri is very good at his job."

Six silently agreed, as they saw Henri took off with four.
