Chapter 213: Huajin Grandmaster_4

This could be considered touching the 'Dao,' the Dao of martial arts.

Wang Longhu felt as if his body had grown millions of invisible arms, caressing everything in all directions, including the air.

This sensation was extremely mystical, never before experienced, almost instantly addictive and mesmerizing, immersing one in this pleasant feeling, unable to extricate oneself.

If humans possess only five senses, then now, Wang Longhu felt as if he had gained a sixth sense.

"Is this Huajin? It seems that Huajin can no longer be considered merely a use of force; rather, it involves a kind of human power that has never circulated among the common folk," Wang Longhu murmured to himself, clenching his fist.

In fact, many famous martial artists from the Republic era and even earlier had records of their prowess, most often as Huajin grandmasters.

As for whether there was space for further breakthroughs in martial arts beyond this, records are very scarce.

A direct disciple of Li Cunyi was interviewed in the 1980s, and he mentioned that Ming Jin is primarily about external form, easy to learn and deepen, achieving it with good talent within about five years.

Dark Force is when the energy is thick, injecting force secretly, initially guided by principle and law, but within the structure of power, finding Qi through hidden action, achievable in ten years with talent.

Huajin is totally about thought and intention, completely conforming to principle and law, using the mind to care for it, training until Qi is reached. Whether one succeeds is uncertain.

The principles of Ming Jin, Dark Force, and Huajin are all different, hence in the Xingyi Sect, there is a saying to define them: observing, entering, and mastering, which is not mere rhetoric.

Martial art teachers judge what level you can reach based on your aptitude, intellect, moral character, and willingness to train, using the correct methods.

For training Ming Jin, they teach you stepping techniques, for Dark Force, they teach you breathing, all have their secrets, indispensable to each other.

About a hundred years ago, the circumstances made masters like to withhold and hide some knowledge, preventing disciples from surpassing them, thus martial arts became harder and less passed down.

Keeping talent-dependent Dark Force and Huajin with lacking methods makes them even harder to master.

The direct disciple in the interview mentioned that indeed above Huajin there is a higher realm called the 'Four Bi.'

It refers to Fasting, Not Breathing, Not Excreting, and Not Sleeping.

Fasting means when one holds the sixth yin, it would store the elixir, the frequency of breathing gradually reduces until entering a resting state.

Not Breathing refers to ample Qi, so no need for postnatal replenishment, when Qi is full, one has no desire to eat and doesn't need food.

Not Excreting refers to reduced excretion frequency, eventually reaching a state where excretion is completely unnecessary.

Not Sleeping refers to gradually reduced sleep, contrary to postnatal nature yet without affecting the body, eventually not needing rest at all.

Martial arts need young people to practice, the younger, the better the effect. Older people practicing lead Qi to unpredictable leaks.

Starting during puberty, when young people develop interest in the opposite sex, their Qi constantly depletes externally; without understanding Qi nurturing and gathering principles, it's difficult to attain inner achievement.

Such a claim aligns with what Wang Longhu has read in children's skills and the Marrow Cleansing Scripture.

Who is Li Cunyi?

He apprenticed under Xingyi Boxing expert Liu Qilan, befriended Cheng Tinghua, and also learned Eight Trigrams Palm from Dong Haichuan. He once held a military position under the Governor of Liangjiang, later opening the Wantong Escort Bureau in Baoding to take apprentices and teach martial arts.

In his later years, he founded the Martial Arts Association in Tianjin with Ye Yunbiao, teaching at Jingwu Athletic Association and Nanyang Public College, highly respected in the Northern martial arts community.

His disciples include Huang Baining, Hao Enguang, Shang Yunxiang, Ma Yutang, Li Xingjie, Fu Jianqiu, Chen Panling, Tian Hongye, Xue Dian, etc.

Since he has direct disciples, then the concept of Four Bi must be credible and real.

In other words, Huajin is not the pinnacle of martial arts; above it, there is heaven.

However, this heaven is exceedingly ethereal, truly mysterious upon mysterious.

Not Breathing, stopped breathing; Fasting, no need to eat; Not Excreting, no need for the toilet; Not Sleeping, no need for sleep.

These four points together look just like those spoken of in Daoist immortal cultivation.

If indeed there are martial artists who achieve the Four Bi, then how are they different from legendary immortals?

"Martial arts evolved from the Pre-Qin Qi practitioners' methods of cultivating immortality, simplified from complexity and made real from the unreal, carving a new path. Unexpectedly, after all the wandering, the ultimate goal circles back,"

practicing martial arts to the extreme still pursues immortality," Wang Longhu thought in astonishment to himself.

In today's scientific era, everyone knows that as long as one is human, it's impossible not to breathe, eat, excrete, or sleep.

If anyone picks one of these four continuously for a month, they would end up in the ICU and finally in a small ceramic jar; it's simply unscientific.

Yet, as Wang Longhu, now a Huajin grandmaster, felt Huajin, he gained a new realization.

A Huajin grandmaster can be said to have trained and elevated the human body's functions, vitality, and spiritual power to an elite level among human beings.

Their bodily functions are powerful, enabling them to do things ordinary humans cannot.

Using these feats as a starting point to challenge higher limits of human capability, thereby breaking human cognition, which is the rumored 'immortality.'

For instance, Wang Longhu now has Dark Force ready to explode throughout his body; if he wills it, anyone who touches him would instantly be harmed by Dark Force and thus die.

If such a phenomenon were placed in ancient times, Wang Longhu would surely be labeled a 'monster' or 'immortal' type of being.
