Chapter 17- Confession~2
Kazuki has several friends at school who still contact him from time to time. Unlike Kohta they actually believed in him and said that Kazuki could never do such a thing to Katori. Well, Kazuki doesn't care what they think.
He received news about school, things going on, and the rumors circulating these days. To be honest, Kazuki doesn't mind what others say about him. He really couldn't care less. However, from what he had heard recently, it seems the fact that Kohana often visits his place these days has been spread amongst the students.
Kazuki felt bothered about it. He was obsessed by Katori a few days ago, and now Kohana was visiting his place daily—surely a piece of information which people could love to gossip about.
That's why Kazuki suddenly thought the best thing to do was to clear all those rumors.
"Let's declare our relationship officially. I can't bear to let you ge surrounded by any more rumors." After returning to his place, Kazuki extended the proposal with sincerity burning in his eyes.
After hearing what happened in the supermarket he felt extremely bothered and anxious. He surely was going to beat the crap out of the person who harassed Kohana. However, Kazuki has to ensure that today's incident doesn't repeat.
He would walk with Kohana from now on and might as well propose for them to cohabitate. However, before that, he had to make sure of something.
Is Kohana willing to be official with him?
Although he knew that she was the one who started pursuing him initially, after spending so many days with him and after witnessing so many dorky sides of his, Kazuki had fear. That what if, she changes her mind?
It was a feeling that no teenager could skip. The uncertainty of getting rejected by the person you like.
And yes...Kazuki likes Kohana. No, he was probably already head over heels for this girl.
Kohana remained silent and sat down first. She clutched her skirt, and with her head leaning down, she asked, "Senpai...are you feeling burdened? That's why you proposed something like this?"
Kazuki crouched down in front of her before taking her hand in his hold. She visibly relaxed upon experiencing his warmth and his words brought calmness to her heart,
"I could never make such a hasty decision when it comes to relationships. I have it in my mind for some days now...that we should officially start dating and end this trial period. It's just after hearing what happened today that pushed me to propose this idea in this unromantic way."
His tone sounded both sad and nervous. He was even rubbing her knuckles softly with his eyes moving around, and not looking at her directly.
Someone who has been observing her Senpai for over a year now could say without a doubt that her Senpai was quite nervous right now.
She looked at him and cupped his cheeks. Kazuki finally looked at her when she did that. Her tender skin seemed to have influenced his heart rate as it slowly came to a steady pace.
Kohana slowly leaned forward and with her eyes closed, she pressed her lips against his.
Kazuki was taken aback, nearly falling back by the sudden kiss. However, he soon realized the meaning behind the kiss was not only to show intimacy but also contained her answer.
After a brief moment, she parted her lips and connected her forehead with his. With a blooming smile adorning her little face, she whispered,
"It was the luckiest day of my life when I fell for you, Senpai. I never would be against the idea of being with you, so please take care of me from now on."
Anyone might have expected this answer from her. However, Kazuki had self-doubt and a small percentage of possibility he held to getting rejected. That's why when she said she wanted to be with him, Kazuki wanted to jump on his feet and punch the air in joy.
However, that can wait. He had to reciprocate her feelings.
"This might not be the best way of saying it, but delaying this confession would be the most foolish decision of my life." Taking a deep breath, he finally uttered,
"I love you Kohana-chan. Everything about you has become a reason for my smile and excitement. You have become an irreplaceable being for me, and a life without you seems impossible now. So please can you give me the chance to accompany you as long as I am alive?"
Tears rolled down her eyes. She couldn't have ever imagined hearing those words from the person she admired and loved so much. However, this was all real. And even if this was a dream, Kohana didn't ever want to wake up.
"Yes, gladly."

A/N:- I wanted to add another scene...but the confession seemed so perfect and complete that I ended up deleting three hundred words.
Anyway, I hope you all are enjoying the story so far.
