I Raise With In-app Purchases – 47

EP.47 Rank Reassessment Exam (3)

“Shine! I heard the news. Congratulations on reaching S-class.”

“Thank you!”

With the rank reassessment exam, the classes were reorganized according to the new ranks. There were so many B-class students that they were divided into three classes, but once you reached A-class, there was only one class. This showed that B-class was a significant barrier separating talents.

In contrast, there were so few S-class students that they couldn’t even fill one class. Therefore, they shared a classroom with A-class students and took the same classes unless there were special circumstances.

I heard that besides myself, about three other students had their ranks increased. Of course, they didn’t jump two ranks to S-class, they moved from B-class to A-class.

When I arrived at the A-class class, I took a deep breath and stepped inside.

Creak—

Even though I wasn’t late, many students were already seated. As soon as I entered, all eyes turned to me.

“Isn’t she the one who reached S-class?”

“Seems like it. She’s a girl with a bow.”

“I thought she’d have an impressive aura, but she looks pretty ordinary.”

Whisper, whisper—

Judging by the reactions of my classmates, their first impression of me wasn’t very positive. They seemed wary of me. But what could I do? I had to spend time with these classmates from now on.

I decided to make the first move. After all, it’s hard to be hostile to someone who smiles at you.

“Hi! I’m Shine. I moved up from Class B. Nice to meet you all.”

“…….”

“…….”

“What’s wrong? Why is everyone so quiet? We’ll be taking classes together from now on, so it’s okay to introduce ourselves, right?”

Smile, smile.

When Shine spoke again, the students reluctantly greeted her back.

They should have done that from the start!

“Why is she acting up as soon as she arrives?”

Of course, there were always a few who twisted her words and didn’t want to get along.

I had heard a lot about Class A students while I was in Class B. There were many rumors that they were incredibly arrogant and didn’t even treat Class B students as people unless they were in their own class.

But now that I saw it for myself,

‘If I were A-class instead of S-class, they wouldn’t have even greeted me?’

They were pointlessly prideful and constantly wary of each other. I despised this atmosphere.

We were not in a position to compete and clash with each other.

‘On the battlefield, we need to trust and rely on each other as comrades!!!’

The bond among peers is crucial, yet they were deepening emotional rifts in this manner. In the contaminated zones, we would be allies who could save each other’s lives. Fighting and hostility were utterly useless.

Unfortunately, these prickly nobles were naturally inclined to be difficult. They divided themselves into ‘ranks’ and only associated with those of the same ‘rank.’

‘This is completely wrong! It’s so wrong, it’s laughable. Idiots.’

Sadly, looking at other classes, it was clear that most of them behaved in the same distant and prickly manner. Nobles were inherently filled with such prickly individuals, weren’t they?

They had been pampered since childhood, never holding back if something displeased them, and were taught that overstepping boundaries was rude. However,

‘The world runs on connections.’

In the academy, where one could build valuable connections and meet peers with similar abilities, it was a waste to end up with such distant relationships. Determined to break through their prickliness, I gave a warm smile to the students glaring at me.

“Hehe~”

I had a way to make even these prickly students wag their tails in front of me.

‘I didn’t expect to rely on the mister’s help for this too.’

If the mister hadn’t given me the gift, I would have asked to buy more. I knew that the consumables from his shop were perfect for winning over these students. After using them myself, I was convinced. There was no product that could match the performance of what he sold.

‘The items from the mister’s shop are just too good.’

Once they tried it, they wouldn’t want anything else. Nobles, in particular, couldn’t stand using anything inferior once they had tasted the best.

‘Hehehe! No matter how prickly you act, once this is in my hands, you won’t be able to escape my grasp!’

They were destined to become affectionate kittens. With a villainous smirk inside, I stepped forward to the podium once a good number of students had gathered. As I stood in front, everyone looked at me with eyes full of suspicion, wondering what the attention-seeker was up to now. Though their gazes were far from friendly, I humbly accepted them since I was indeed about to do something.

First, I placed the box on the podium.

Inside the rather large box were all the items I had prepared for my classmates.

“You’ve probably heard rumors about me. It must seem suspicious that someone from Class B suddenly skipped two ranks to become S-class. But I earned this rank through my own abilities. I won’t explain further because I believe I’ll have opportunities to prove my skills in our future classes.”

“I wasn’t curious anyway.”

Someone interrupted, but I ignored it and continued.

“The reason I’m standing here is to offer a small gift as a gesture of goodwill, so we can get along in the same class. Consider it a bribe, so feel free to accept it and greet me properly from now on. Is there anyone who doesn’t want to accept it? If so, you don’t have to take it.”

“What could be so great that accepting it means we have to greet you? With that kind of talk, no one here will want to take it.”

“Well? Let’s see. If you’re curious, come and check it out.”

The students’ expressions showed their curiosity about what kind of impressive gift I had prepared to be so confident. The one who had been grumbling the most was the first to step forward.

“I’ll check it out, and if it’s not impressive, I’ll just go back.”

“Go ahead.”

He approached the podium, opened the box, and pulled out one of the packages inside. His face showed a series of question marks as he examined the contents.

“What? Huh??”

His expression was one of disbelief, as if wondering why such an item was here. His eyes wavered, and he seemed to suspect it might be a trick.

Smirk—

I looked at him confidently without averting my gaze.

‘Yeah, you don’t have this at home, do you? But I do! Want it? Hehe!’

As I proudly raised my chin, the student, biting his lip in slight frustration, asked,

“Can I really have this?”

“Yes!”

“It’s not fake, right?”

“Uh-huh.”

Questioning the authenticity of a gift I was offering was akin to insulting my family, essentially like insulting my parents. I gave him a stern look to indicate he should stop there. Realizing he had gone too far, he closed his mouth. Then, glancing at the box again, he asked,

“Is it okay if I take one more…?”

“I brought just enough for everyone, so I don’t think that’s possible.”

“Tsk… Fine. I’ll greet you from now on. I acknowledge you.”

Murmur, murmur—

“Is he serious?”

“He’s lost his mind.”

“It seems like she really brought something impressive.”

As expected, he couldn’t resist my bribe. Once he tried it, he’d be even more eager to stay on my good side, knowing how hard it was to obtain such items.

“We’re not beggars; why would you accept that?”

“Stop talking nonsense and go get one before they’re all gone. Idiot.”

Once one person started, the ripple effect quickly spread to the other students. As soon as one broke the ice, the others rushed forward to check out my gift. Soon, every student in the class had accepted my bribe.

All the students had now become people who would greet me without fail.

“Hehehe. Of course, they can’t resist such an item.”

Even the new friends who had just moved up to Class A got swept up in the situation, allowing us to build camaraderie. Just like in Class B, I felt confident that I could adapt and get along well here too.

“Oh? There’s one left?”

I thought the gift distribution was over, but strangely, there was one left in the box. I looked around and saw that everyone had one in their hands.

‘Did someone miss class?’

I decided to save it for the absent person and returned to my seat, satisfied that the first meeting with my classmates had gone well. It wasn’t until a week later that I found out who the remaining gift was for.

“Who’s that? Do you know her? Is she in our class?”

Having already adapted, I asked a friend about the unfamiliar student.

“Oh, don’t go near her.”

“???”

Could it be that we had an outcast in our class?

“She’s from church.”

“Huh?”

“I’m not trying to ostracize her or anything, and it’s not a lie. She goes to the plaza every weekend to proselytize. She even tried to recruit us.”

“From church… from real church?!”

“Yeah, she’s completely crazy. If you criticize her church, she loses it and starts spewing words like a machine gun, insisting it’s not like that… It’s best to just avoid her.”

“Isn’t that a big deal? People who get into church end up giving all their family’s wealth to them….”

“She doesn’t have a family. She’s a commoner. Apparently, she grew up in the church.”

“!!”

I was left speechless by the continuous shocking revelations. How did such a pretty girl end up in a place like that?

“Does the academy just let her be?”

Trying to recruit students seemed like a significant issue.

“She’s in the healing department. No one can touch her.”

The reason the academy didn’t intervene was also baffling. Of all things, she was in the healing department, a field where making connections was crucial.

‘A precious healer in a church….’

Gulp—

I was torn between ignoring the enormous red flag and greeting her or following my friends’ warnings and pretending not to see her. It was a tough decision.
