Chapter 458: Arrival of the Emperor
"In the presence of power, even gods would kneel," Irus said. "And right now, you are in the presence of a being that made white creatures beg for their lives."
The sphere that Guan Yin cast suddenly cracked. The woman gasped as the intense dark energy coming from inside the sphere was slowly gushing out of the forcefield.
"No!" Guan Yin yelled. "Irus, what are you doing? You're going to destroy the sphere that protects you!"
The aura was instantaneously sucked into Irus and the man raised his hand in the air. With the black aura, he formed a dense black spear that was made of pure darkness. "Farewell."
Tears fell from Licht's eyes as he raised his arms to the side and closed his eyes. He was accepting his fate. He was going to die and he was ready for it.
"Farewell, DuDu."
With one last smile Licht heard the spear being slammed into the ground. He also felt a warm pair of arms wrapped around him, carrying him like a baby. "What? Dudu!"
The atmosphere had changed. The darkness that Irus was exuding had vanished, replaced with a warm and comfortable aura. It was too comfortable that it was getting too suffocating me.
"T-That's…" Elliot trailed off. They were now on the ground as they watched Licht being carried in the air. A tall man was the one who carried him, skin was pale and smooth as porcelain, his hair was black as the night, while his eyes were blue as the calm seas.
"Are you okay, Licht?" Dudu asked. His voice was deep and smooth, much like a dark chocolate being melted in your mouth. "I was worried that you did not come home as quickly as you told me to."
"There was someone who interfered me," Licht said, pointing at Irus who was now looking at them with a melancholic expression. "He tried to kill me several times. I ran out of source, so I almost died."
"You won't die," DuDu said. "As long as I'm here, you will live."
DuDu made Licht cling to him as he raised his hand that was supposed to be holding Licht's back in the air. He sighed and conjured twelve layers of magic circles. This made everyone that was watching him gasp in shock.
Conjuring one magic circle was already hard enough, two would require mastery, and five would require greatness. But twelve simultaneously, that was not a work of an ordinary being.
Irus hovered in front of DuDu and also raised his right hand in the air. The demon conjured another twelve magic circles as he stared into DuDu's eyes, "You're not the only one who can do this."
"Oh," DuDu pursed his lips. "Then I guess we'll just see."
The emperor took a couple of steps back and pointed the stacked magic circles at Irus. The demon did the same and now they were pointing their magic circles at each other like they were pointing ray guns.
"Impulsive Aristocracy."
The first beam that was nearest to DuDu lit up, shooting a beam at the second magic circle, making it glow too and so on. When it reached the twelfth and final cirlce, a tilted crown appeared before a gigantic beam was fired.
Licht only smiled and stretched his neck, "Nova Primo."
The stacked magic circles that Irus had created did the same thing. They fired the beam and now both of their beams were meeting in the middle. The force from he impact created a loud and powerful shock, pushing everyone else away from the source.
"What kind of power is this?" Elliot gasped. "This is nothing like we've seem before."
"That's because we're in the presence of two beings that are good enough as gods," Lady Hao replied. The shield won't last long. Everyone, get as closer to the shielf as you could. When that glass-like thing breaks, we're going to escape."
"But what about Irus?" Elliot asked. "We can't just leave him here. There are still two emperors who he is battling."
"What can you do then?" Lady Hao asked. "I have seen Irus's power and based from that alone, I can assure you that he is going to be fine.
Elliot was hesitant on leaving the demon alone. When the shield breaks, this would mean that Licht would regain his power. Should this happen, Irus would be fighting two people at once. Even when Elliot didn't doubt Irus's capabilities, he was still unsure if he could face two people at once.
"You're really stubborn, aren't you?" Lady Hao said, brightening Elliot's face as he nodded vigorously. "Goodness. But if you really want to help, let me start by saying that DuDu is the complete opposite of Licht. When one gains power over the living, the other one has–"
"The ability to harness the power of the dead," Allen whispered. "But Lady Hao, what does this mean? How does DuDu use his ability when he needed for someone to die."
"In anywhere you go, there is a chance that you are standing on top of a place where there is someone or something getting burried," Lady Hao said. "DuDu would walk past through time itself and collect the powers of the dead and use it as his own."
"So he can use all the powers of the dead in the area?" Elliot asked. "But we have this shield. Can he still do it?"
"The man entered without creating any holes, Elliot," Connor said, looking around to see anything wrong. "Not only can he manipulate time just so he could get his power, he can even alter space. That's not something just anyone could achieve."
"A man who can alter reality," Irus smirked. "Now that's something you don't get to see everyday."
Irus launched himself towards DuDu. He covered his arms with black aura, creating claws that were much latger than his own body. "Take this!"
DuDu smirked and sighed. "No, I don't think so."
Before Irus could even approach the emperor, both of his entire arms vanished.
