Rodney stopped and he and the others followed Benson.

Benson led them out of the airbase and a convoy of armored trucks was waiting for them.

All the armored trucks looked the same, painted in black, with a turret on top, and a security officer manning the mounted automatic rifle.

Lukas and the others got onto the back of an armored truck with Benson.

"All units, start moving."

Without any hesitation, Benson ordered the drivers to start moving.

Vroom.

The engines roared and the convoy started to make its way to the Security Force Headquarters.

"This is what's going to happen.

"I take all of you into custody for investigation."

Benson said and he pointed at Dr. Uwe, "You will testify as a witness that you've been kidnapped by Peter Lim.

"And clear the name for them, putting down in a statement what happened in Peter Lim's mansion.

"Which would then allow me to open a case into investigating Peter Lim, the Governor of West Battle Administration Area for corruption."

Dr. Uwe nodded to Benson's plan.

Benson sighed and said, "I must warn you though. The ride back to the Security Force Headquarters might not be a smooth ride."

"What do you mean by that? Someone dares to kill the assistant head of the security forces?" Rodney narrowed his eyes and asked.

"The Secretary for the West Battle Administration Area, Lawrence, is in cahoots with Peter Lim.

"My sources told me that he had mustered whatever force he could to hijack Dr. Uwe on the way back." Benson said.

"He dares to do so out in the open?" Rodney asked.

"There's a saying in the Center Battle Administration Area that goes 'There's always a law for that.'" Benson said and lowered his head.

He and Rodney after graduating were on a personal mission of making things right.

Rodney had tried to make the South Battle Administration Area become stronger by identifying potentials like Lukas.

While he had tried to serve justice in the Center Battle Administration.

However, Benson had found out that it was like being sucked into a rabbit hole of rules and regulations.

The Leader was great in uniting the nation against the demonic beasts, setting up the five administration areas.

But the Leader wasn't the best in governance.

And as time went by, the bureaucrats had added piles of legacy rules on top of one another.

Howl.

Sirens blared when an armored car raced to the side of the convoy.

And from the loudspeakers of the armored car, a voice boomed, "Under the criminal act, Section 5, you are harboring fugitives from the West Battle Administration Area.

"Stop right now or face arrest by force."

"It's the paramilitary force under Secretary Lawrence." The security officer manning the turret glanced down at Benson and said.

"Ignore them, just tell them we have arrested the fugitives and are on our way to the Security Force Headquarters.

"They are obstructing us from official duties if they do so." Benson said.

Lukas frowned at what was going on.

From what he had heard, it seemed that it was a bureaucracy nightmare.

He would rather be fighting demonic beasts than dealing with all of this.

The security officer manning the turret picked up a receiver and spoke into it, repeating what Benson had told him.

More armored cars raced and caught up with the convoy.

Their engines roared but there wasn't any reply from the armored cars.

Bang!

One of the armored cars had its window wound down and a shot was fired from within.

It struck the security officer manning the turret and he slumped into the back of the armored truck.

Lukas quickly pulled him away from the turret and Margaret checked on his wound.

Blood spurted out from his neck.

She held her hands onto the neck and activated her healing ability.

White glow engulfed her hands, and it slowly extended out towards the man's neck.

The blood slowly trickled into small drops and finally stopped when the wound on the neck healed and closed.

Pong.

A grenade was fired from the armored cars of the paramilitary at the lead armored truck of the convoy.

It hit and the armored truck was hurled into the air and tumbled across the asphalt road.

The other armored trucks returned fire with the mounted automatic rifles.

Lukas got up into the turret. And with his shadow wielder ability, he grabbed onto the shadow of the armored car nearest to where he was.

Using all his might, he hurled it onto the armored cars trailing behind.

Crash.

It was too sudden for the other armored cars to react, and they crashed into one another.

The paramilitary soldiers inside got out but couldn't chase after the convoy.

Now, there were only two armored cars following the convoy.

The drivers of the armored cars stepped on their pedals and swerved when they got to where the lead armored truck was.

Forming a barrier across the road.

The paramilitary soldiers got out of the armored cars and raised their hands at the armored trucks coming towards them.

Boom!

Explosions ensued and the convoy had to try and do a hard stop.

Tires screeched and the security force officers inside the armored trucks were hurled forward into the driver's compartment.

Lukas leaped up into the air and with his shadow wielder ability grabbed onto two of the paramilitary soldiers and hurled them onto the other paramilitary soldiers.

The paramilitary soldiers didn't know what hit them and they were knocked out from the sheer force of the impact.

Some even had fractured limbs and teeth flew all over as the paramilitary soldiers were smashed onto the ground.

When Lukas landed onto the ground, he ran over to the armored cars blocking the way.

Thud.

Using his strength, he hurled them to the side of the road like they were made of paper.

After he cleared the way, Lukas turned around and motioned for the convoy to continue moving.

But before the engines of the convoy roared again, Lukas saw that the surroundings were lit by an amber glow.

Boom!

A huge fireball shot at him from above.
