Chapter 83: 83
After about ten minutes, Sophie walked out of the audition room, completely dazed.
The entire experience felt surreal.
Gu Ran had predicted everything perfectly.
The audition was indeed for Game of Thrones.
And the script she was given? It was exactly the Sansa Stark scenes that Gu Ran had highlighted for her the night before.
She barely needed to prepare.
She had already memorized everything.
Performing the scenes was effortless.
Not only did she deliver a natural performance, but she also fully incorporated Gu Ran's in-depth analysis of Sansa's character, adding layers that made her performance stand out.
She performed one scene. Then another. Then another.
Most candidates were in and out within two or three minutes.
Her audition lasted over ten minutes.
When she finished, the casting director simply told her to wait for a call later that day. If she got the role, they would notify her immediately.
She stepped out of the room, her mind still spinning.
Regardless of the outcome, she had already lost.
Her entire future now belonged to Gu Ran.
Just thinking about last night made her heart pound.
She looked around for Gu Ran, eager to share her excitement with him.
He would definitely be thrilled. Maybe even so happy that he'd hug her.
But as she searched for him, she froze.
Gu Ran was standing in the middle of a group of beautiful actresses, passionately explaining character analysis and scene breakdowns.
He didn't even seem concerned about her audition at all.
Sophie's expression darkened.
She couldn't explode in front of everyone, so instead, she gracefully walked up to him, slipped her arm around his, and leaned in close.
"Darling! There you are! I've been looking for you everywhere! Hello, everyone, I'm Sophie—Gu Ran's girlfriend."
She pressed herself against his arm, making sure everyone noticed.
"Wow, Sophie, your boyfriend is amazing!"
"Yeah, not only is he handsome, but he knows so much!"
"Your boyfriend helped me understand my character in a way I never thought possible!"
"I had no confidence in my audition, but after his guidance, I feel so much better!"
"Gu, please, can you explain 'You know nothing' to me again?"
Sophie kept her smile but squeezed Gu Ran's arm a little tighter.
"Darling, I think I left something at The Ritz Hotel. Can you come with me to get it? Please, darling?"
Gu Ran, still completely focused on his analysis, casually replied, "Sophie, Ritz Hotel offers delivery services! Just call them and have them send it to the train station. I'm in the middle of something here—why don't you rest for a bit?"
Sophie's smile stiffened.
"Oh? Sure! I don't mind at all!"
She let go of his arm, her expression neutral, and walked away without another word.
Ding—
[Detected: Sophie Turner - 100 Negative Emotion Points! System bubble generating…]
Gu Ran felt a chill down his spine.
She was that mad?
Her emotions exploded so fast, the system instantly generated a perfect red bubble.
And her acting had improved again.
He hadn't even done anything wrong.
He was just talking about acting. Did she really need to get so jealous?
Still, this only meant one thing—
Sophie had truly fallen for him.
He quickly collected the red bubble but decided not to use the talent point just yet.
"Sorry, ladies, I have to go. I believe in all of you! If you get the role, I'll definitely visit the set!"
The actresses sighed in disappointment.
As their emotions fluctuated, bubbles dropped everywhere.
He scanned them briefly—mostly acting-related ones: speech training, body language improvement, performance enhancements.
All useful, but not what he needed right now.
His daily limit still allowed him to pick up nine more bubbles, but he had other targets waiting—his football teammates.
It was time to leave.
Just as he turned to go, a soft, hesitant voice called out, "Gu… um, can we… exchange contacts?"
He turned and saw Emilia Clarke, the future Daenerys Targaryen.
Before he could answer, the other actresses quickly joined in.
"Yes, please! Can we?"
"Gu, please~?"
His heart skipped a beat.
"Of course! Why not?"
"Yay! Gu, you're the best!"
"Gu, I like you!"
"Here's my number, my name is Natalie Dormer!"
"Don't rush! Don't rush! I'll add you all!"
After saving all their contacts, Gu Ran gave them a final charming smile.
"Good luck, ladies."
The actresses swooned.
And just like that, he turned and walked away.
A true player—leave after making an impression.
Outside, Sophie was still sulking.
"Still mad?"
He flashed his signature heart-melting smile.
Sophie's neck twitched slightly, and she swallowed, but her expression remained cold.
"Not mad. Why would I be mad? Go back inside and keep 'coaching' your actresses. Don't worry about me."
The charm attack failed.
"Come on, don't be upset. I was just feeling inspired. Anyway, let's head to the train station."
She huffed, then turned and walked ahead quickly—hiding her flushed face.
Three hours later, they were on the train back to Southampton when Sophie's phone rang.
Still annoyed, she answered grumpily, "Who is this?!"
A calm British voice replied, "Miss Sophie Turner, this is the Game of Thrones casting director. I'm pleased to inform you that your audition was successful."
"Please prepare your belongings and travel to a training camp in the London suburbs by tomorrow. Your contract and instructions have been sent to your email. Please check."
Sophie's jaw dropped.
"I… I GOT THE ROLE?!"
She whipped her head around to Gu Ran, eyes wide in shock.
"GU! DID YOU HEAR THAT?! I REALLY GOT IT!"
He smirked, completely unsurprised.
"Told you. You had it in the bag."
She threw herself into his arms, tears welling up.
"Gu, thank you! Without you, I never would've made it!"
He patted her head.
Actually… I'm the reason you got in.
So, yeah. You're welcome.
With his most charming smile, he whispered, "Sophie, as long as you're not mad at me, I'm already happy."
Sophie sniffled, biting her lip.
"Idiot. Gu, you're such a… huge, stupid idiot."
Gu Ran pouted.
"How am I an idiot?"
