I Inherit Millions Out Of Nowhere

Chapter 12: The One They Call

Meanwhile, in a Kareoke bar in downtown Sunshine City, a few young men were sitting on the couch, drinking and chatting. Ophelia, Farrah, and Taylor, however, sat nervously on the same couch.

Originally, this matter had nothing to do with Farrah and Taylor. After all, it was Ophelia who had hit someone in the restaurant last night. But because the three of them were roommates, the blonde-haired young man had brought all of them here.

Ophelia was filled with regret. She had never imagined that the blonde-haired young man would have such a powerful background. If she had known his identity, she would never have laid a hand on him.

The blonde-haired young man's real name was Jaxson Jordan. Jaxson himself wasn't particularly formidable, but his brother was Simeon!

Simeon was a well-known figure around Sunshine City University. He controlled about seventy percent of the bars and internet cafes near the university. Any student from Sunshine City University who crossed Simeon never ended up well.

"Knock, knock!"

Suddenly, there was a knock on the door of the private room.

"Come in!" Simeon, who was sitting in the middle of the couch, called out expressionlessly.

Colby walked in nervously, bowed slightly to Simeon, and said softly, "Hello, Mr. Simeon!"

"Colby, it's you!" Simeon seemed to recognize Colby and responded indifferently.

Upon hearing Simeon's words, a glimmer of hope flashed in the eyes of Ophelia, Farrah, and Taylor. If Colby really knew Simeon, then maybe things wouldn't turn out so badly.

"Mr. Simeon, my girlfriend didn't know any better and ended up hitting your brother. Could you do me a favor and let her go? I promise it won't happen again!" Colby pleaded softly.

"Heh, Colby, since you're asking, I suppose I can give you this favor," Simeon replied with a faint smile. He then continued, "I was planning to let my guys have some fun with these three ladies, but since they're your friends, I'll let it slide. Just pay for my brother's medical expenses and take them away."

"How much are the medical expenses?" Colby asked, biting his lip in hesitation.

"The girl who hit him owes five thousand dollars, and the other two owe two thousand each," Simeon said, pointing at Ophelia.

Colby stood there, stunned and devastated. He had already spent over nine thousand dollars at the hotel yesterday, which his dad had to bring over. Now Simeon was asking for another nine thousand, and Colby simply didn't have that kind of money on hand.

"What's the matter, no money?" Simeon asked, noticing Colby's expression and frowning.

"Mr. Simeon, isn't nine thousand a bit too much?" Colby whispered.

"Heh, if you don't have the money, that's fine. Just have these three ladies spend a week with my brother, and we'll call it even," Simeon said nonchalantly.

"No, no!" Colby quickly shouted, then continued, "How about this, Mr. Simeon? Let me take them away first, and give me some time to gather the money. I promise I'll pay you back."

Simeon squinted at Colby, then said in a low voice, "Alright, we've known each other for quite some time, so I suppose I can give you some time. I remember you have a car, right? Leave the car keys with me, and if you gather the money within a month, I'll return the keys to you."

Colby stared at Simeon, completely taken aback.

"Not willing?" Simeon frowned and asked sharply.

"No, no, it's not that..."

Colby quickly shook his head and handed the car keys to Simeon.

"Fine, take your girlfriend and leave," Simeon said nonchalantly as he accepted the keys.

"Let's go!" Colby said, looking helplessly at Ophelia, Farrah, and Taylor.

The three girls immediately stood up, ready to leave with Colby. But just as they were about to exit, Simeon suddenly spoke up.

"When did I say all three of you could leave? I said you take your girlfriend. The other two stay."

Farrah and Taylor froze in place, their faces filled with despair as they looked at Colby and Ophelia.

"Colby, you can't just leave us here!" Farrah cried out desperately.

Colby turned to look at Farrah, frowning. "I can barely save myself right now. How can I worry about you two? You're on your own."

Colby didn't have any real feelings for Farrah and Taylor. If he took them along, it would cost him an extra $4,000, so he naturally didn't want to get involved. After saying this, he grabbed Ophelia and headed for the door.

Farrah and Taylor stood there, stunned and hopeless, unable to believe Colby would abandon them so heartlessly.

"Are you two planning to pay up or spend a week with my brother?" Simeon asked, lounging on the sofa with a smile, directing his question at Farrah and Taylor.

Farrah was quite attractive, with a stylish and sexy appearance. Taylor, while not as striking, was still decent-looking and had a very ample chest. Simeon's brother would be more than happy if they couldn't come up with the money.

"Mr. Simeon, we... we'll get the money!" Farrah stammered, trembling with fear. She quickly took out her phone and started making calls. Taylor did the same, contacting her friends.

Both Farrah and Taylor came from decent families, but they weren't rich kids. Coming up with $2,000 each was no small deed for them.

In just over ten minutes, the two girls had contacted every friend they could think of, but not a single one was willing to lend them money.

"Farrah, what are we going to do? All my friends said they don't have any money..." Taylor was on the verge of tears, her voice choked with sobs.

"I... I don't know what to do either, everyone I called has no money to lend..." Farrah's voice trembled as she spoke, her body shaking slightly.

Taylor paused for a moment, then spoke softly.

"Farrah, I heard from our class president, Felicity, that Brentley recently won the lottery. Maybe you could call him and ask if he can lend us some money..."

"Do you think Brentley would help us?" Farrah hesitated.

"We don't have anyone else to turn to. It's worth a try..."

"Alright then."

Farrah nodded lightly and immediately dialed Brentley's number.

When Brentley Carter saw Farrah's name on his phone screen, he didn't need to guess why she was calling. He hung up immediately.

Farrah didn't give up and dialed his number again.

"What do you want?" Brentley's voice was cold.

"Brentley, I need four thousand dollars. Can you help me?"

Farrah hated having to ask Brentley for help, but she had no other options.
