Chapter 172: Two absorbed memory cores
Felix's mindscape wasn't as it used to be due to the absorption of the new two memory cores that came from Willie and Vangar, things became chaotic.
Everything around was clustered by the new memories that came from the absorbed duo. Of course, the bulk came from Vangar as Willie didn't have as many memories.
Felix could identify which memories came from which person by taking a glance at them. So he closed his eyes and waved his hands around, creating two big spaces where he started to sort out the memories and fuse them.
Normally, he wouldn't have to do such a thing as the souls would be absorbed by his ability, not giving him access to their memories, and excess souls wouldn't be absorbed when he had 9 lives.
Felix himself didn't know how to forcibly absorb souls as he had never got to learn the technique combined with the fact that no one could teach him, which left him with that knowledge void.
The memories usually came with sparks of will from the former owners, but it seemed these two were lacking that... Felix still remembered the incident with the black bear shaman where he had to fight him in his own soul space, and he didn't want that to happen with these two.
First. He took a glance through Willie's memories, and he found quite a lot of things that were useful to him, regarding energy manipulation and techniques.
Felix wasn't an energy master by a long shot, he just got his own personal energy a short time ago, and besides the fighting techniques and training techniques he knew, he also didn't have any tips or supporting techniques, he had derivated some ways when he protected Willie during his evolution but they were inferior to the direct information that Willie's memories were giving him.
Willie's memories weren't that many, so he easily skipped through the useless ones and absorbed the useful ones. Felix sighed as he shook his head, Willie was his servant, to begin with, but he didn't really want him to end up this way.
What's done is done. At least he died for a good cause.
Now it came the bulk of memories that were Vangar's, his memories were way many more compared to Willie's, and there were also quite a lot of personal ones that Felix didn't want to interfere with, so he just skipped them and went directly towards the combat ones.
There he had to pause for a bit to digest everything as there were a lot of techniques, both physical and energy ones, which were so advanced that Felix needed a lot of time to understand.
Vangar was a powerhouse that hadn't been on the battlefield for 20 years, but all of his techniques were top-notch. His body might have lagged a bit behind his techniques due to his advanced age. Which according to his memories was in the thousands of years.
Normally, strong humans lived around 2-3 thousand years, but Vangar was an exception as he had been experimented on in his youth, giving him the lifespan double of average.
He was at half his life, so that was the reason he looked middle-aged.
The techniques he accumulated in his thousands of years of service weren't few. Felix immediately learned killing intent masking and mastered both it and killing intent detection with a glance through the basic combat memories of the man.
His stealth techniques also got a huge boost as he saw how Vangar fought stealth enemies and learned what to do and not do against enemies of similar strength to Vangar.
His newly advanced energy techniques got another boost as he learned the special military techniques that Vangar created throughout his life and incorporated them into his fighting style.
He also gained a lot of fighting experience, reaching the peak of battle sense in one go.
He continued to sort through the memories as his soul evolved. The combination of Vangar's experiences and techniques made his soul strengthen the more he looked through his memories.
His breathing techniques slowly elevated as well. His body unconsciously mimicked Vangar's experiences, creating a vacuum of energy around him, as he absorbed everything that could be found around in the secret room.
The personal memories continued to be discarded until he finished them. Leaving only a few more combat memories that he didn't look through, at first as they were left for last.
Felix's eyes glinted as he memorized the last memories and left the mindscape... they were indicated to be combat techniques, but they also contained the last message from Vangar before his tragic forced absorption.
It seemed that he had to be wary of the federation in the future... at least until after he took care of the outside enemies.
He knew he needed the help of the federation, but after that, he could do what he wanted.
Felix got up from the ground and looked around seeing that the room was almost destroyed.
He could see the destroyed capsules that contained unknown things had been opened, leaked fluid was everywhere as frigid corpses were dropped around. They looked rather old as they were shriveled like dehydrated prunes.
The corpses were human, but Felix didn't know what kind of use they had so he ignored them, he knew the federation wasn't really the good guys, but siding with them would be the lesser evil in this situation. Even though they were the ones who poked the hornet's nest in the first place.
Felix left the room as the grey door opened by itself without the need for an ocular and fingerprint scan.
He continued down the hallway until he reached the previously inhabited spot where everyone was rushing around with technology or piles of documents.
However, everything was deserted now. There was no one around, including Basil.
It was like a ghost base, and Felix couldn't sense any life signs on the base anymore... It was very strange and as Felix looked around, he felt the sensation of teleportation engulfing his body, which he did not resist. At his current level, forceful teleportation didn't work anymore as he learned how to resist it from Vangar's memories.
Felix found himself at the top of the presidential tower and he met eye to eye with the president, he had a serious look on his face as he came closer to Felix and patted his shoulder while saying:
"I guess I owe you an explanation."
"No shit."
Felix's words were flat as he looked at the president with a deadpan look on his face, he really wanted to know why Vangar and Willie had to be sacrificed, but he already had some conjectures, Vangar wasn't only a strong general. His tactical mind wasn't anything to scoff at, even though it wasn't his specialty.
"We are sorry we didn't tell you about Willie and Vangar at first, but we thought that with your new emotional awakening you would have second doubts about it..."
"And without my emotional awakening, I wouldn't have done it in the first place... I see."
"Eheh... I guess Vangar's memories had some great uses for your deduction abilities..."
"Anyways, Willie's special evolved body was needed to mix the energy from the electricity core along with his sacrifice an immense amount of energy was generated by his body which was highly beneficial to you, combined with the mixing force of the evolved wisp entity he was a very needed sacrifice for you to reach your current level."
"As for Vangar... even though you are very experienced, you are still a child compared to the older people in the military, experience-wise, and you need all of the advantages when you will fight with the invaders, a high level of experience and special techniques would fix that. As for why we didn't just let him teach them to you?"
A sonic boom was heard above the planet, as shockwaves struck an invisible dome-like shield that protected it was activated, making it visible.
"We couldn't hold them back anymore, and they found our planet... your strength should be complete and at a level high enough that you can spearhead the operation of defense."
Constant tremors shook the planet as a fleet of dark-colored ships appeared in the space above the planet.
They were all different looking compared to the ships of the federation. For one, they were more compact, and they looked even more deadly.
The photon energy that was at the barrels of the guns were ready to be launched towards the shield that was covering the planet but the anti-aircraft defense guns of the federation popped out at strategic places on the planet, then shoot counter fire through the shield as if it wasn't there, disabling most of the fleets cannons.
While the fleets were a little bit more technologically advanced compared to the humans. This wasn't the main reason the human higher-ups were scared of them.
Battle cries so loud that Felix could hear them from the surface of the planet came out of the ships as 3 meters tall warriors with red skin and four arms started to drop from the ships while they beat their chests like gorillas.
The moment one of them struck the shield that protected the planet a large crack appeared on it that stretched towards the horizon, showing the extreme strength of the invaders and making the president frown.
"They are a little bit stronger than before..."
The president's words weren't that encouraging to Felix.
