I Have a Girlfriend in Marvel

Chapter 63: The Cost of Blood

Whether it's developed or not, Su Ye didn't know, but one thing was certain—it would definitely be discovered.

With something so important in the car, even with half a brain, you'd know Geese Howard would be very cautious.

Sure enough, as soon as the car entered the gate, it was stopped by a group of people. Leading them was Billy Kane, the loyal dog wielding a staff.

Billy Kane, this loyal dog, seemed to be quite handy—so handy that under Geese Howard, he was the only competent subordinate, while the rest were all trash.

However, Su Ye always had a question.

Billy Kane, known as the King of Staves, wielded a long staff that could split into three sections with unparalleled skill. But here's the question—if someone were to snatch that staff from him, could Billy Kane still fight?

Would he go from hero to just a super minion?

Su Ye had never seen it happen before, so he intended to find out for himself.

When the car entered, an inspection of the cargo was in order. Billy Kane personally led his men to open the rear compartment. At the moment the door opened, a small metal canister suddenly fell to the ground at their feet.

"What's this?"

Billy Kane and his men looked down, only to see thick white smoke pouring out from the canister.

"Smoke grenade? Damn it!"

Just as Billy Kane realized something was wrong, a figure charged toward him through the smoke. He couldn't see who it was, but it didn't matter—anyone throwing a smoke grenade was obviously an enemy. Time to fight!

Spinning his staff expertly, Billy Kane thrust it toward the figure.

But suddenly, he felt his hand lighten. The staff… was gone?

"What the—?!"

In all his years of fighting, the so-called King of Staves had never encountered someone who would dare to snatch his staff right off the bat. He was momentarily at a loss. At that moment, a red-and-blue figure leapt from the back of the car.

The figure vaulted over Billy Kane's head, locking his neck between their legs. With a powerful backflip and a 180-degree spin, the sheer force made Su Ye's back tingle.

Billy Kane was yanked into the air in a wide arc and slammed violently onto the concrete ground.

Watching Mary climb up from the other side, Su Ye couldn't help but twitch his mouth.

The move, "Mary Typhoon," ensured that the enemy hit the ground hard, but Mary herself wasn't spared a minor impact either. While she fell less dramatically than her opponent, Su Ye couldn't help but worry—couldn't a girl like her accidentally hurt herself?

Yet, seeing how easily Mary got up, Su Ye realized his worry was unnecessary.

"Yo! You're quick on your feet, huh? Quick Boy Ye!"

Mary teased as she walked back to Su Ye, glancing at the dozen thugs now lying unconscious on the ground.

Su Ye sighed. "You're going to pay for that joke… in blood."

Mary merely shrugged indifferently, then turned her glowing eyes toward the nearby Geese Tower.

"Let's go! Since we're already here, and everyone's down, why not take this chance to do something big?"

To this, Su Ye had no objections. However, after making such a racket here, they couldn't just waltz into Geese Tower through the front door.

"Follow me!"

Su Ye pulled Mary to the base of a wall, to a shadowy corner where no one would notice them and where even slight noises wouldn't easily travel. He reached out and firmly wrapped his arm around Mary's waist.

"You…" Mary felt a bit nervous. Wasn't this progressing a little too quickly? She wasn't ready for this.

All those boys at school who had been chasing her for so long never got even a glance. But now, here… Was this the moment?

Just as Mary was about to tell him to take it easy, she suddenly felt herself lift off the ground.

"So, this is what the seniors meant by flying straight to the heavens?"

Mary was lost in the thrill of soaring through the air, until Su Ye whispered in her ear, "We're here. Could you… let go of my waist?"

Mary instinctively unwound her legs, and upon turning her head, she realized they were now at a dizzying height—on what seemed to be the rooftop of Geese Tower.

"Your skills are impressive! You got us up here so fast. Guess I underestimated you, Quick Boy Ye!"

Su Ye retracted his grappling hook, and his resolve to make Mary pay for her teasing grew even stronger.

The commotion at the truck below had drawn the full attention of the tower's security, leaving the rooftop seemingly unguarded. They had free rein to explore.

The spacious rooftop was dominated by a massive boxing ring. The four corners were adorned with dragon sculptures, giving it a distinctly Dragon Country flair.

As Mary examined it, she exclaimed, "Wow, this Geese Howard is really into martial arts. Not only does he host the KOF tournament, but he even turned his own rooftop into a boxing ring. Didn't he think about adding a canopy? What if it's sunny—or worse, rainy?"

Su Ye shook his head. "The design's intentional. Geese Howard's a real man. Real men don't fear the sun, nor do they fear slipping!"

"Is that so? Hah." Mary rolled her eyes. "Didn't think you'd defend Geese Howard. Whose side are you on anyway?"

"Just being honest," Su Ye said with a grin, silently adding in his heart, If you'd let me, I could be on your side anytime…

At that moment, a deep, gravelly voice echoed nearby.

"So, you two are the ones causing trouble at Geese Tower tonight?"

The sudden voice startled Mary, but Su Ye quickly stepped in front of her protectively.

The man stood under the neon lights atop the tower. Hidden in the shadows, he had gone unnoticed by Mary, but Su Ye had been aware of him from the start, positioning himself between the man and Mary.

"So, you must be the master of Geese Tower, Geese Howard?"

Su Ye turned to face Geese Howard and spoke in a low voice.

Geese Howard stepped forward, out of the neon light's shadow. He neither confirmed nor denied Su Ye's words.

"This is no playground. If you leave now, I'll pretend none of this ever happened…"

Perhaps it was his innate martial instinct, but Geese sensed the powerful aura emanating from Su Ye. Rather than attack, he flicked a white envelope toward them.

"This is an invitation to the KOF tournament. If you're interested, you're more than welcome to participate."

A faint smile curled at Geese's lips. The stronger the fighter, the stronger they'll be under Black Crystal's control.

But Su Ye wasn't planning on accepting the offer.

"Geese Howard, do you remember Jeffe Bogard?" Su Ye asked, smirking slightly.

"Jeffe?" Geese squinted. "So, it's you. You're that man from Dragon Country… her lover?"

"Pfft!"
