Chapter 197: 51 Outing
"No Light of Fortune..."
Lu Zheng waited for a while but didn't see the Jade Seal absorbing the Light of Fortune. "Is it because whether this stalemate is resolved or not doesn't really affect him?"
Shaking his head, Lu Zheng turned back to take a look at the closed cliff, then flew downwards, heading home while reviewing the Earth Travel Technique in his mind.
Back at home, as always, he converted the spell into a document to avoid forgetting it, and then began to study and learn.
After a while, Lu Zheng felt that the Earth Travel Technique and Water Avoidance Technique were quite similar, both converting True Qi through spells for specific uses: one specialized in drainage, and the other in soil passage, achieving water and earth avoidance effects with minimal magical power expenditure.
For the Earth Travel Technique, traversing through soil was effortless, opening a path ahead and closing the land behind like an earthworm, even using the closing force of the earth to push oneself forward at a decent speed.
Stones can also be crushed using the Earth Travel Technique, then closed up behind, but this consumes quite a bit of True Qi, and the closed stones aren't whole again, leaving traces and flaws.
"So, I can only use this Earth Travel Technique in ancient times. Modern undergrounds are full of rubber cables. What will I do, mess around and cause a city-wide blackout? That would be hilarious."
"Therefore... the Earth Travel Technique is also a top-notch technique for sneaking in and escaping." Lu Zheng stroked his chin, feeling like he had a special skill to retreat unharmed when outmatched.
"Its nemesis must be a spell similar to Earth-to-Steel, but not everyone knows it, right?"
Just as he thought about it, a knock came; it was the delivery.
Lu Zheng got the delivery, took apart three braised chickens and put them on a plate, then transported back to ancient times to the neighboring Liu Family, telling Liu Qingyan he would be away for half a month.
In the evening, he polished the pot to make it more shiny, and the next day was April 30th.
…
"What's the itinerary?"
At Sea City Airport, Lin Wan got her ticket and found it was for a flight at 11 PM from Sea City directly to Xinjiabei. "Aren't we going to Mei Country's Phuket Island or Pattaya?"
At this time, it was just before 9 PM. After work, Lin Wan returned home with Lu Zheng, pulled the pre-packed suitcase and prepared a power bank and some snacks before heading to Sea City Airport to check their luggage and retrieve their tickets to set out.
"But we have ten days, right?"
Lu Zheng and Lin Wan sat in the waiting hall, each sipping on a can of yogurt. "First, let's go to Xinjiabei, enjoy the infinity pool and sky garden at Marina Bay Sands for three days, then head to Phuket Island for some sun and sand, and finally, go shopping in Kuala Lumpur. How's that?"
"Hmm, not bad!" Lin Wan praised with a smile, "Seems like you've done your homework this time."
"Of course!" Lu Zheng looked smug, "I've checked all the fun and food at Marina Bay Sands, booked two nights initially, extend if not enough."
"That should do. We have several places to visit." Lin Wan said, "Marina Bay Sands, I know, is that hotel with a platform like a big ship on top, right?"
"Yeah, that's the one." Lu Zheng nodded, then took out his phone, pulled up a guide filled with food and scenery photos, and shared it with Lin Wan to look at together.
"Wow, it's really luxurious." Lin Wan commented while browsing photos, "There's a theater, plus its own beach and golf course."
"Marina Bay Sands just has an appealing appearance, but for true enjoyment, Capella on Sentosa is much better. It has everything Marina Bay Sands has and more, with way more prestige."
Lu Zheng and Lin Wan looked up and saw a well-built middle-aged man in a khaki casual suit sitting not far diagonally, smiling and nodding at them. Next to him sat a girl with exquisite makeup, holding the man's arm with one hand while playing with her phone.
Upon hearing the man's voice, she glanced at them, sized them up briefly, and then continued looking at her phone.
"Are you also taking the holiday to travel to Xinjiabei?" The middle-aged man began to chat with a smile.
Lu Zheng nodded politely, "Yes."
"Are you on a tour group, or traveling independently?"
"Independently."
"That's the way to go. Independent travel is more fun and free compared to tight and restrictive tour groups. If you're within budget, it's more comfortable to travel independently." The middle-aged man suggested, "I'd still recommend Capella, easy access to Universal Studios and the aquarium, plus it's oceanfront, better location than Marina Bay Sands."
"Thank you, we'll consider it." Lu Zheng nodded politely again, then continued looking at his phone with Lin Wan, ignoring the man.
Kidding, coming over to criticize our choice and then expect me to follow your advice, who are you?
Seeing Lu Zheng and Lin Wan clearly not engaging further, the middle-aged man felt a bit embarrassed, which his female companion seemed to sense as she softly tried to smooth things over, "Stop it, Capella doesn't have budget rooms, maybe they can't afford it, and it would be awkward to continue."
Though she spoke quietly, her words were just clearly audible to Lu Zheng, Lin Wan, and others nearby.
The man nodded mildly, "I didn't think it through, young folks care about their face."
His voice was loud enough to be heard.
Lu Zheng raised an eyebrow, discreetly scanned around—a few young women looked at the middle-aged man and the decorated girl disdainfully, while some glamorous, corpulent ones glanced at Lu Zheng and Lin Wan with smug superiority.
"Slurp…" Lu Zheng sipped his yogurt loudly, then turned to Lin Wan, "Isn't this like being hit by a flying pot?"
"Calm down, shallow people are everywhere, no need to care about them. Responding will only upset you." Lin Wan softly advised, her voice truly low enough that only Lu Zheng heard.
At that moment, perhaps because he'd spoken a bit too much, the middle-aged man picked up a bottle of mineral water next to him, twisted off the cap, and raised it to drink.
But perhaps due to his prior excitement, his hand wasn't steady, and the bottle shook lightly, causing a rush of water to suddenly pour out, soaking his shirt.
"Oh no!" the middle-aged man exclaimed, quickly moving the bottle away.
"Ouch!" his female companion quickly dodged, setting her phone down and hastily took a pack of tissues from her bag to help wipe.
"Tsk tsk, not very old, yet hands shaking, and weakness, probably kidney issues." Lu Zheng commented, tsking, and leaned over to whisper into Lin Wan's ear, but his volume was just right for others around to hear, "He's got powder on his face, but a splash of water reveals it, his face is greenish, eyes are dark—definitely kidney deficiency. Wonder if he can still function?"
