Historia Reiss
- My Pov -
After the carriage came to a stop in front of the entrance to the mansion,—Milch, Pastor Nick, Roderich, and I—got out and walked up the steps.
I could see a large number of people standing in this area of the entrance. The clothes these individuals wore were diverse. Some were dressed extravagantly and wore various jewels on their bodies. It was likely that these individuals were important nobles who had also been invited to this place.
There were even invited guests from the military police, and I could tell they held high ranks. In addition, I could see some priests and nuns who were also from the same religious organization known as the "Order of the Walls."
"It's been a very long time, Pastor Roderich."
"As per usual, Pastor Nick, you continue to have issues with your regular sleep pattern."
"Take a look at who's coming."
"The holy wall has indeed bestowed its blessings upon this gathering."
Some of the guests walked over to greet the four of us when they saw that we had just arrived, but instead of greeting Milch or me, they went to Pastor Nick and Roderich. I didn't really care about it, either.
Like everyone else in the church, these guests didn't find the fact that I have white hair and red eyes to be strange. Instead, they gave me no more than a fleeting look before turning their gaze in another direction.
After that, the four of us went inside the mansion, and when we got there, there were already several tables inside with a variety of sweets and drinks being served on them.
The lack of lighting in the hall makes it appear somewhat dark, and the fact that the only illumination comes from candles gives me the impression that I am entering a clandestine and mysterious gathering.
"I'm not going to be a part of this insane group's human offering ritual, am I?" I uttered the words in my mind.
Shortly after we entered, I looked over to another entrance and saw several people entering. The military police were also seen escorting the individuals as they entered.
Instantaneously, I was taken aback, and even my physical body started to shake slightly as if I just couldn't believe what I was seeing at this very moment Because the individuals being guarded by the military police are important figures in the story of Attack on Titan.
Some of them are supporting characters who make appearances in manga and anime. Still, I forget about them for the time being because my attention is only being drawn to two different people at the moment.
- Rod Reiss -
[Rod Reiss, also known as Lord Reiss in public, served as the real King of the Walls from 845 to 850 [??? ], but he pretended to be a nobleman who lived in Wall Sina. He ruled during this time period. He was a member of the Reiss family and also Historia's father.]
After hearing Pastor Nick's explanation, I initially believed this would just be a simple secret meeting attended by high-ranking and important church members. I didn't expect to meet the King who reigns behind the scenes in a place like this.
After I learned this, Pastor Nick, who normally presents an unchanging and solemn expression, suddenly became tense because the genuine royal family that ruled the wall was also present at this meeting.
However, after looking at Rod Reiss for a while, my attention eventually shifted to the little girl standing next to him. The same age as I was at the time, the little girl appeared to be 5 years old.
I could tell that the young girl did not feel at ease in this environment based on the expression she wore on her face as she looked around. It was a combination of fear and caution.
The young girl has long blonde hair and large blue eyes that add to her beauty, and I'm sure that a lot of people will agree with me when I say that she's going to grow up to be a beautiful woman in the future.
I have no doubt that those individuals who have been invited to this meeting are already aware of the little girl's identity.
The Reiss family does not acknowledge this girl's existence in the manga and anime adaptations of Attack on Titan. However, the fact that Rod Reiss brought Historia Reiss to this gathering demonstrates that this King could put his faith in these individuals.
'you did hear correctly. The name of that little blonde girl is Historia Reiss,' I said in my heart.
I believe that my decision at that time to become a part of Pastor Nick's congregation was the best one.
- Historia Reiss -
[Historia Reiss is the Future Queen of the Walls [???]. She is a graduate of the 104th Cadet Corps and a former member of the Scout Regiment [???], both of which are military academies. In addition to this, she is the illegitimate daughter of the nobleman Rod Reiss and the sole surviving member of the Reiss royal family [???].]
Hmmm, it seems that the question mark that appears on their information screen indicates that their future can change. Of course, that change can happen because of my existence, but it looks like their future will work as it should in the story if I don't do anything to affect it.
Suddenly, Pastor Nick, who was standing next to me, leaned close to my ear and whispered something to me.
"Listen, Kaiser, the middle-aged man who just arrived is an important person who rules behind the walls, so you need to be polite in front of him."
"important person?" I inquired while wearing a look of bewilderment on my face.
"Yes, perhaps in the not-too-distant future you will find yourself working for him."
After that, I just remained silent and didn't give any kind of response.
'work for him, huh.'
I thought to myself, 'well, maybe that's also one of the pretty tantalizing paths I can choose.'
'but let me just tell you, you old fart pastor, even if he were a king, it would not be enough to stop the power of the main character, Eren,' as I thought about it.
"Besides, I don't have a second chance to gamble with my life in this world of Attack on Titan," I mumbled under my breath.
Milch, who had been observing me for a considerable amount of time, heard a few words coming out of my mouth, and then all of a sudden, she questioned me.
"Did you say something, little Kaiser?"
"it doesn't matter."
Even if it was just a glance, I could feel Historia's gaze looking at me for a while, but when I tried to look at her again, she just lowered her head.
