Ch 26
The Dramatic female Zerg
He squatted down, lifting the female Zerg’s chin, his face cold as he asked, “What happened? Why are you kneeling here?!”
Who knew how long he had been kneeling—his knees were probably swollen by now!
The female Zerg dared not meet his gaze, sensing the anger in the male Zerg Zerg’s eyes. His eyes reddened at the corners. “Master, I know I made many mistakes. Punish me however you want, just don’t abandon me…”
“Stop, stop, stop!”
“What mistakes? Why don’t I know about them?” He Yì felt both frustrated and confused.
“I’ve made so many mistakes. Please, punish me,” the female Zerg continued, assuming that his master wasn’t willing to forgive him.
“Punish you? What nonsense!!” He Yì stood up in a huff and gave the bedframe a hard kick. It didn’t budge an inch, but his foot went numb from the impact.
“Master!” The female Zerg gasped and clutched the male Zerg’s leg, torn between wanting to check for injuries and fearing to touch recklessly. His icy-blue eyes welled with misty tears. “Even if you’re mad, don’t hurt yourself! You could have kicked me… You should’ve kicked me…”
He Yì forcefully yanked his leg free from the other’s grip, sitting down angrily on the edge of the bed. He slapped the mattress hard and shouted, “Get up!”
“If you kneel like that again, I’ll break your legs!!” He Yì threatened fiercely.
The female Zerg instantly complied, too afraid to disobey. He knew his master had the bad habit of hurting himself when angry, and the consequences could be severe.
Sure enough, his knees were already bruised.
He Yì’s face grew even darker.
“So capable, aren’t you? No wonder you’re a military Zerg! No wonder you’re a general! The courage to kneel whenever you please—how impressive!” His tightly pressed lips stretched into a thin line.
“Are you doing this on purpose to piss me off?” He Yì’s chest rose and fell with fury.
As he kept up his sarcastic remarks, he reached out and yanked the female Zerg close. With a flick of his thumb, he unlocked the restrictive energy ring around the other’s neck and flung it forcefully to the ground. The soft, brown ring rolled a couple of times before coming to a stop.
He Yì narrowed his eyes, glaring at the Zerg’s bruised knees. They were an unbearable sight.
Tsk, so ugly.
Seeing the unmistakable look of disgust in the male Zerg’s eyes, Zhao hurriedly covered his bruised knees with his hands, flustered and anxious. “It’ll be fine soon, it’s not ugly…” He was already panicking, remembering the last time his master had been repulsed by the red marks left after scrubbing too hard in the bath.
The more nervous he became, the more likely he was to do something foolish.
In a fit of desperation, Zhao threw himself into the male Zerg’s arms, imitating the way movie characters seductively squirmed their waists. However, it was obvious he had only captured the surface of the act, not the essence.
But it didn’t matter—he still managed to ignite He Yì’s temper, in more ways than one.
He Yì grabbed the back of Zhao’s neck and yanked him away slightly, grinding his molars. “Do you even know what you’re doing?”
“Mm… Master… I need you. Please,” Zhao whispered, tilting his head back obediently but rubbing against him even more eagerly.
He Yì’s expression darkened. In one swift motion, he flipped Zhao over and pressed him down against the headboard, growling between clenched teeth, “You better not regret this!”
It was time to stop holding back.
And thus, Zhao received his master’s “whipping” and “punishment”—a long, exhausting ordeal that left him elated.
Yet throughout it all, Zhao forced himself to act as if he were in unbearable pain, suppressing any hint of satisfaction that might betray him.
Afterward, sprawled contentedly in his master’s arms, he thought to himself: This might be the peak of my acting career. I really gave it my all to keep up the act.
Ah! The universe truly owed him an Oscar!
—
The next morning, He Yì woke up and lay there for a long time in stunned disbelief. Not again?! Had he lost control last night?
He carefully slipped out from under the blanket, sat up, and turned to look at the sleeping Zhao beside him.
What have I done…
He cautiously lifted the blanket to inspect Zhao’s body. Thankfully, there were no visible injuries. Without the restraint of the energy-suppressing ring, Zhao’s strong regenerative abilities ensured that any superficial wounds would heal within a few hours.
But the memory of Zhao’s pained voice haunted him—he hadn’t stopped, even when Zhao sounded like he was suffering. If anything, it had only spurred him on… What kind of master am I?
Overwhelmed with guilt, He Yì felt unworthy to face his beloved. After tucking the blanket around Zhao, he quietly slunk out of the bedroom.
Behind him, Zhao—who had already been awake for some time—opened his eyes.
He despised himself for deceiving and seducing his master, wanting to get up early to avoid the inevitable confrontation, yet unwilling to leave the warmth of his master’s arms.
Seeing that He Yì had finally left, Zhao sprang out of bed in one agile motion.
His movements were sharp and swift—completely different from the fragile and pitiful image He Yì had imagined.
In truth, Zhao thought his master had been too gentle last night, so much so that it almost broke his performance.
As Zhao hurriedly got dressed and washed up, he thought, Master must be hungry to wake up so early. I need to prepare breakfast quickly. I can’t let that lazy robot Xiao Yi get ahead of me.
Meanwhile, He Yì was in Zhao’s old bedroom, washing up as well. The more he reflected on last night’s events, the more something felt off. His spiritual energy had sensed happiness from Zhao, which was why he had dared to unleash his inner beast so recklessly.
But Zhao’s pained expression had looked so real—it didn’t make sense.
Was my spiritual perception wrong? Or are my eyes failing me? Or… is Zhao pretending? No, no, that couldn’t be it. Zhao was so obedient, so honest—how could he possibly lie?
(# But little did he know, General Zhao was very skilled at deception. Not only could he lie, but he could keep it up for as long as necessary!)
Still puzzled, He Yì opened the star network and anonymously posted: “How do I apologize and make amends to a female zerg?”
The sheer number of responses overwhelmed him in no time, most of them mocking:
#1 – A little zerg who needs hibernation
“OP, are you still dreaming? Go back to sleep. It’s too early for this nonsense.”
#2 – Professional Nitpicker
“Strange things happen every year, but this one’s special. If you need advice, just ask—why act all high and mighty? Ugh, gross.”
#3 – Today’s Thoughtful Comment
“Are you from the countryside? Bet you’re the companion trying to appease your master! No worries, we’ve got apology kits and punishment toolboxes—everything you need! Just for you! Use my social credit code for a 10% discount! /Link/”
…
The posts only got more ridiculous. Frustrated, He Yì resisted the urge to curse. If he weren’t so low-key, he’d get a VIP certification as a high-status male Zerg just to blind them all!
He quickly deleted the post, thinking: If I’m apologizing, a gift should work. And it should be something he likes. After pondering briefly, he typed into the search bar: “What do female zergs like the most
Skimming the results, he concluded: So, they love… lemons?
He Yì’s eyes brightened. Perfect!
After breakfast, Zhao noticed a small, square wooden box on the table.
He Yì pushed the box toward him, eager. “Open it and see if you like it.”
Zhao hesitated, then opened it. “Master? What is this?”
“Lemons! For you!”
Zhao blinked in disbelief. “Lemons… for me?”
He Yì nodded. “Yes. They were sent during last month’s Male Protection Association visit. I ate half a durian and ended up evolving early, so I didn’t get a chance to put the other half in the fridge. But if you like these, I’ll give you all of them next time they send more.”
Zhao lowered his head, his fingers clutching the wooden box tightly, saying nothing.
“You… don’t like it?” He Yì’s antennae drooped, and disappointment flickered in his eyes. I really am a failure, even with a simple gift.
He swallowed the apology he had planned to say.
“I love it… I really love it,” Zhao whispered, tears welling in his eyes. He had seen countless other companions show off their fruits online and had envied them deeply. Now, his once-unreachable dream had come true.
“Liar!!” He Yì’s spiritual energy detected a trace of sadness. He grabbed the companion’s chin, forcing him to look up, and grumbled angrily, “You’re obviously upset to the point of tears, yet you say you like it!”
“Little liar!”
