I Don't Want An Ordinary Life

Chapter 43: [43] Send Him to Be an Idol

Chapter 43: Send Him to Be an Idol

At Shuchi'in Academy, the matter concerning Ogino has officially come to an end, and the direction of public opinion is under the control of Ronan. Logically, once the suspension period is over, Ronan should be able to return to his usual daily life.

However, he has no intention of letting Ogino off the hook. For someone who caused him so much trouble, Ronan has never shown any mercy.

Ronan walked to the entrance of his house and put on the coat hanging on the rack.

"Ishigami, I'm heading out to take care of something. Keep playing, but remember to save your progress. Don't lose the hard-earned equipment."

"Don't worry, I've got experience with that."

Recently, Ishigami has been coming over to Ronan's place almost every day to play games. They start in the morning, take a break for lunch at noon, and continue playing until the afternoon. When school ends, Ishigami leaves and heads back home.

Today happens to be Friday, and it seems Ishigami has already informed his family that he'll be staying at a classmate's place for a while, so he's in no rush to go home.

Ronan checked the time. It was currently 4:00 PM, and there was still some time before dinner.

"Where do you want to eat for dinner?"

"How about you grab some instant noodles on your way back?"

"Instant noodles are so boring. I'll buy some ingredients and cook instead."

"You know how to cook?"

"A little."

"Alright then, let's split the cost for the ingredients."

"Sure, whatever."

Ronan chuckled, adjusted his coat, and walked out the door.

He hailed a taxi on the street and headed to a remote area in Shinjuku, Tokyo.

Stepping out of the taxi, he surveyed the surroundings.

Unlike the bustling area where he lived, this place felt old and rundown. There were abandoned factories and warehouses nearby, and it wasn't the kind of place people would visit without a reason.

Ronan pulled a business card from his pocket and walked toward a multi-story office building indicated on the card.

Before long, Ronan noticed a few men with menacing expressions sitting on the stairway, smoking.

Two of the tough-looking men spotted Ronan approaching, tossed their cigarette butts to the ground, and swaggered over to block his path, putting on an intimidating act:

"Hey, kid, what are you doing here?"

"You know this isn't a place for you, right?"

Ronan calmly looked at the two thug-like individuals and said, "Mr. Bando sent me."

"Bando?"

"You... you're from the Washimine Group?"

The two thugs visibly flinched.

"I need to discuss some business with Oniwaka Mamajiro. Mind letting me through?"

"O-of course."

They immediately stepped aside and said to Ronan:

"The boss is right this way. Let me take you to him."

"Much obliged."

Led by the thug, Ronan arrived at an office door with a wooden sign that read "Oniwaka Group." The thug knocked on the door, and after receiving a response, opened it and entered.

Inside, the room was surprisingly lavish. A finely crafted sofa sat in the center, and an elderly man with a thin mustache was leisurely smoking a pipe.

"Boss, someone from the Washimine Group is here to see you."

"Oh?"

The old man slightly raised his head and saw the thug along with Ronan standing beside him.

"Isn't this Mr. Ronan? It's been four years. Please, come in."

"It has been a while, Oniwaka-san. You've changed offices, I see."

After the thug closed the door and left, Ronan walked in and sat directly on the sofa across from the Oniwaka Group boss. He casually pulled out a cigarette and lit it.

"I heard you've completely given up on territory disputes. How's the idol business going?"

"Quite well. Idols are incredibly profitable," Oniwaka said with a smile. "What about it, Mr. Ronan? Interested in investing?"

"I might throw in a symbolic investment depending on how things develop," Ronan said with a smile. "By the way, Oniwaka-san—"

"Ah, no need to call me 'san' anymore. I prefer to be called Oniwaka-sensei now. As you know, I've been quite passionate about composing lately."

"Not a bad hobby. But let's get to the point, Oniwaka-sensei. I heard you have connections with a Thai surgeon who specializes in gender reassignment surgery, right?"

"Yes, I know a very skilled doctor."

Oniwaka took a puff from his pipe and smiled.

"Some of the 'girls' in my group have made me quite a bit of money as idols, all thanks to that talented doctor in Thailand."

"I see. I have someone I'd like to recommend for your group. Are you open to taking them in?"

"Oh? Who?"

"A young man named Ogino. He's quite young, just the right age to debut as an idol," Ronan said with a grin. "Since you're in the idol business now, you must need trainees, right?"

"Indeed... So, what's this Ogino kid like? Any potential?"

"Absolutely. He's part of his school's drama club and has a knack for deceiving naive girls, which caused me a bit of trouble."

"And he's still alive?"

"Someone like him should've been dumped into Tokyo Bay by now."

Ronan took a drag from his cigarette, exhaled a smoke ring, and flashed a cruel smile.

"But I promised not to kill him, so I'll keep my word. Besides, since he loves playing around with women, why not turn him into one and let him live among a group of 'women'? As a drama club member, he can even debut in the idol world. Doesn't that sound like a dream come true?"

"Oh~ Mr. Ronan, you're truly too kind."

"Hahahaha, exactly! After all, we're not demons or anything," Ronan said with a laugh.

"Well said! After all, I'm no demon either, hahahahaha!" Oniwaka joined in the laughter.

"Hahahahahahaha..."

"Hahahahahahaha..."

Two chilling laughs echoed from the office building.

"Alright, I'll take care of the arrangements. Thank you for the introduction, Mr. Ronan. How much should I pay you for this?"

"Talking about money hurts the friendship. Consider it a free introduction."

"Hahahaha, you're a man of your word!"

With that, the old man and the young man reached an agreement, sealing Ogino's fate.

...

After leaving the Oniwaka Group, Ronan stopped by a supermarket to pick up some groceries.

By the time he took a taxi back to his apartment, it was already around 6:30 PM.

He took the elevator up to his floor, but as he approached his door, he sensed something was off. It seemed someone else had been there besides him and Ishigami.

Years of ingrained caution prompted him to quickly open the door.

Through the open doorway, he saw an elderly man with white hair sitting together with Ishigami.

"Oh! Little Ronan, you're back."

"Grandpa George?"
