I can rewind time to prevent death

Chapter 471: Mutation of the God of Death (Final)_2

There were no windows in the stairwell, and no lights were on; it was pitch-dark. Yan Junze turned on the flashlight on his phone and guided the way down, pulling Zhang Xiaomo along.

They descended three floors without encountering any strange places or seeing Wu Mayun.

Even the bone-chilling cold in the stairwell had lessened a lot, and their bodies started to warm up.

The chances of encountering Wu Mayun seemed slim, but if they lingered too long in the stairwell, they couldn't guarantee that Wu Mayun, wandering somewhere unknown, wouldn't find them.

After all, this woman belonged to the top tier of strangeness. Starting her transformation from the God of Death, with such a high starting point, appearing and disappearing unexpectedly was definitely her strong suit; they couldn't be careless at all.

Yan Junze pulled Zhang Xiaomo to speed up their descent, but they were still very cautious, only proceeding after confirming that there were no strangenesses on their current floor.

However, compared to the four people who took the elevator, their descent was definitely much slower.

A moment later, Yan Junze felt increasingly anxious, because he realized that no matter how far down they went, the lights on those floors weren't on; each floor was engulfed in darkness, seemingly completely enveloped by the Absolute Territory.

This meant that Wu Mayun's power was far beyond his imagination; perhaps the entire building was already under her control.

They would need to manage to escape before they could think about Rewind.

Now that he thought about it, compared to the Reaper, the true power of the God of Death in human form couldn't possibly be this terrifying. But after Wu Mayun transformed from the God of Death to a strangeness, her power was at least much stronger than the God of Death in human form.

This kind of power, simply put, meant she was invincible within her own Absolute Territory; all manipulation of magnetic fields was ineffective, and all fluctuations of Supernatural Power were useless, creating a world exclusive to the strangeness of the God of Death within this space.

Of course, even if her ability was again powerful, it was only effective in this area. If large weapons were used, conventional weapons would definitely not work, but the Magnetic Impact Cannon might produce some effects.

However, this was just Yan Junze's current speculation; if all attacks became ineffective once they entered the Absolute Territory, it wasn't out of the question, but the likelihood was much smaller.

Thinking this, a thought suddenly popped into Yan Junze's mind. After carefully considering, perhaps knowing that the other party was the God of Death, he might be able to counter them with this method.

But he didn't know if it would work.

However, doing so would consume a lot of energy; it shouldn't be used unless absolutely necessary.

The two carefully made their way down to the first floor, pushed open the stairwell door, and found the outside completely silent, not a person in sight.

Looking through the glass windows towards the outside of the building, the streets were also foggy, and nothing could be seen.

No streetlights, no pedestrians, no passing vehicles, just a thick fog, as if this place was completely isolated from the outside world.

"Let's get out of here!" Yan Junze pulled Zhang Xiaomo and ran out of the stairwell into the first-floor lobby.

"Junze!"

Just then, a voice suddenly came from behind them in the stairwell, filled with urgency, helplessness, and panic...

Yan Junze halted abruptly, turning his head to look towards the stairwell; he could tell that the voice belonged to Zhang Xiaomo.

He quickly looked at the person he was currently holding; it was also Zhang Xiaomo.

However, the Zhang Xiaomo he was holding had her head slightly lowered, silent, just gripping his hand tightly.

Yan Junze tried to loosen her grip, but she seemed to have a lot of strength, still clinging tightly and not showing any intention to let go.

Beyond that, this Zhang Xiaomo showed no other unusual reactions.

"Xiaomo?" Yan Junze called out to the person he was holding, but she continued to keep her head down, not responding.

"Junze! Where are you?" The voice from the stairwell sounded even more anxious.

"Damn, did I just get cuckholded? When did this cuckholding happen?" Yan Junze felt a slight panic inside, hesitated briefly, then looked again at the person he was holding.

He hesitated a moment, then turned back towards the doorway of the stairwell.

The Zhang Xiaomo he was holding followed him silently back to the stairwell door.

A feeling of goosebumps surged, and Yan Junze felt chills all over his body; he divided his attention, half on the person he was holding, half on the stairwell indoors.

He opened the door, shone his phone flashlight inside, and sure enough, there at the corner of the staircase between the first and second floors, sat Zhang Xiaomo on the ground, pale-faced, apparently injured in the legs and unable to stand up.

"How did you... how did you walk off alone?" Zhang Xiaomo said, then she froze, her expression turning to one of horror, "You... who are you holding onto?"

Yan Junze glanced again at the Xiaomo he was holding; her head was still lowered, her hair fallen over her face, covering most of her cheeks, seemingly fixed on not letting go.

"Junze, she's not right, you need to... come quick and rescue me!" Zhang Xiaomo in the stairwell immediately shouted.

"Okay!"

Yan Junze nodded vigorously, but instead took a step back, leading the person by his side away from the stairwell.

Shit! RuntimeMethodInvocation!

Then with a bang, he closed the door to the stairwell.

Silence fell, the stairwell quieting down, while the Zhang Xiaomo sitting on the ground looked astonished, her gaze fixed on the suddenly closed door, her complexion becoming even paler at that moment.
