I Can Program My Body?

Chapter 172: Buying Battleships

"Do you have a list I can look at?"

Learning he could only buy up to Tier 5 planetary weapons or battleships, Nash wasn't too bothered.

Even if he could afford higher-tier weapons, he didn't have the funds anyway.

"A list? Hold on, let me check…"

Fresh from a battle, Amir was slightly unfamiliar with the procedure.

Soon, using his authority, he accessed the list of planetary weapons and battleships Nash could purchase.

"You can choose from here. Let me know what you decide," Amir said, then wandered off to admire various weapons and battleships.

To Amir, these blocks of metal were far more captivating than Nash.

Seeing that he was ignored, Nash gave a wry smile.

"It's definitely a government-run business…"

The arrogance, the lack of service, the hands-off attitude—what else could he expect?

Browsing the planetary weapons, Nash quickly made his choice.

He selected the Black Titan Array.

It was a formation of asteroid-sized railguns suspended in space, capable of firing energy blasts that could annihilate Rank 5 Void Marshals, Tier 5 ships, and defend against a Level Five Dark Beast Outbreak.

With such a planetary weapon array, even a Rank 6 War Emperor would have to tread carefully.

The only drawback was the cost: the entire set, including the weapons and their ammunition, was 1 trillion nova credits per package.

Less than a day had passed, and Nash was already on the verge of spending over 3 trillion nova credits.

He had thought his 5 trillion budget was more than enough, but it now seemed like a drop in the ocean.

Still, the Black Titan Array's defensive capabilities tempted him greatly.

With such a defense, he wouldn't even need military battleships.

As long as they stayed within the solar system's range, who in the Nova Sector could threaten them?

Backed by the Nova Government's official identity, the high-standing families and organizations couldn't touch them in the open.

The only potential threat to a planet or civilization under the Nova Government's protection was pirates.

Space pirates strong enough to breach such a defensive array wouldn't bother robbing them.

Meanwhile, weaker pirates, on the other hand, would be too feeble to pose any danger.

Convinced it was the perfect planetary defense, Nash purchased the array, steeling himself for the cost.

"Oh, you bought the Black Titan Array? Not bad, not bad, you've got taste," Amir said, returning after receiving the notification of Nash's purchase.

Seeing Nash had bought the Black Titan Array, he couldn't help but smile.

The weapon was too luxurious for weak planetary civilizations to afford, yet slightly underwhelming for top-tier ones.

Unable to strike that balance, it had remained unsold until now.

Seeing such a treasure finally find a home, Amir grinned.

"Is there a discount?"

"Discount? No, I don't have that authority. But I can throw in two extra sets of ammunition for free."

One set of ammunition allowed the Black Titan Array to fire nonstop for a month.

With two additional sets, it could last three months.

Even if Earth faced a Dark Beast Outbreak, they could hold out for reinforcements.

Smiling at the freebie, Nash browsed for transportation, civilian, and mining battleships to be used within the solar system.

Since they didn't need to travel far or have strong defenses, he bought thousands of different Tier 1 ships, costing 100 billion nova credits in total.

To represent Earth's image or for long voyages, Nash also purchased a battleship fleet for 300 billion.

With 1.4 trillion left in his account, Nash bought a personal Tier 5 battleship for himself.

Costing 500 billion nova credits, it had Tier 5 defensive and attack capabilities.

In a worst-case scenario, it also included a void-warping escape pod that could teleport him several light-years away.

This way, even if he faced a War God, Nash could escape unscathed.

As for getting back, in the face of such a disaster, it was the least of his worries.

Having spent 1.9 trillion nova credits, Nash felt a pang of heartache.

"Do I really need to invest this much?"

Five trillion nova credits were supposed to be enough for him to reach the Void General rank, yet they were nearly gone in a single day.

Still, thinking of the potential returns, Nash gritted his teeth and pressed forward.

As they say, the greatest business investment isn't in products but in people.

Products lose value over time, but people grow stronger as time passes.

If his people could earn a thousand nova credits annually, his investment would pay off in a few years.

Sure, a large population meant high expenses, but it also promised substantial profits.

In time, Earth could become a golden phoenix, solving all his financial troubles.

"Not bad brat, it seemed cosmic elite these days are quite rich." Amir muttered in satisfaction.

Although he didn't have a share or commission from the transaction, arming a planetary civilization with such weapons and battleships meant that a part of Nova Sector would be secure from a disaster.

Plus, the money earned from the transaction could also be made into another batch of weapons, forming a continuous cycle.

"It's all for the betterment of people…" Nash smiled.

"Indeed! Haha, don't worry I'll expedite the delivery, it should arrive in your planet in a week or two."

"Thanks."

Heading out, Nash pondered what to buy next.

With 900 billion nova credits left in his budget, he felt a slight itch to spend everything.

"That's right, books! I nearly forgot…"

He wanted to buy astral arts, advanced soul manuals, professional books, scientific texts, and more.

Although he had unrestricted access to the Nova Library's books, it was only for personal use, not for sharing.

Even if he became a Bearer in the Spirit Pavilion, the books remained exclusive to him.

To bypass this restriction, he needed to purchase a buyout system.

Even then, limitations still applied.

Depending on the price he paid for the buyout system, he could only share or sell the books to a limited number of people.

"Tsk, what a scam!"
