Chapter 170: Terraforming Earth
For the representatives and dignitaries, Nash's words were like opening the door and wanting to kick the dog out.
With their wealth, they could have left Earth long ago if they wanted.
Unlike others, they could go anywhere in the Nova Sector.
But then what? Their wealth and power, so grand on Earth, meant little in the vastness of that world.
They might live luxuriously on Earth, but elsewhere, they'd be reduced to middle class or, at worst, impoverished.
Furthermore, most of their businesses were on Earth. Leaving would mean losing nearly everything.
Except for those with vast businesses and connections, leaving the planet was practically a death sentence with no return.
"How is it? I'll give you three days to decide. In the meantime, enjoy your stay in Eastdam State." Nash smiled as he left the platform.
Calling over Julius, the vice president of the Earth Federation, Nash began to outline what to do.
From forming the government cabinet, various government agencies, and appointing chancellors for each state, to setting up official systems, he handed all the tedious work to Julius.
"President Nash, this is a lot of work…" Julius nearly cried, overwhelmed by the sudden responsibility.
"Why not? Didn't you dream of changing lives on Earth? Now's your chance!"
With a perfect deputy in place, why would Nash bother with the work himself?
Managing a planet wasn't easy, even with a module system, it would waste too much time.
He only needed to set the general direction; everything could be left to Julius.
"Since President Nash has ordered it, I'll do my best…"
"Haha, good! I'm leaving Earth's management to you." Patting Julius on the shoulder, Nash quickly left the banquet.
Returning to his room, he dived into the virtual pod and logged into the virtual world.
---
Arriving in the virtual world, Nash navigated to where he could hire a construction firm to terraform the entire Solar System, especially Earth.
Relying solely on Earth's manpower was not only slow but also low in quality.
He wanted it fast, beautiful, and high-end.
Building Earth as his permanent home, he aimed for it to be the best in every way.
After asking around, he found Xeno Industries.
Xeno Industries was the largest construction firm, not just in the Nova Sector but across the entire Solaris Domain.
Nash had heard that most of the top buildings and planets in the Nova Sector were built by them.
Locating a branch of Xeno Industries in the Nova Virtual Region, Nash stepped inside.
"Welcome to Xeno Industries. How can I assist you?"
"I have a large project, with a budget of one trillion nova credits."
"One trillion nova credits?! Please wait a moment; I'll summon our top architect available."
Leading Nash to a private room, the attendant left him to wait for the architect.
---
"You're the one with the one-trillion-level project?!" A man wearing glasses burst into the room, asking excitedly.
"That's me. And you are?"
"I'm a Tier 5 Architect, Lincoln. What do you have in mind?" Lincoln asked without missing a beat.
A trillion-level project was rare. Even as a Tier 5 architect, he had only managed four of such projects.
Feeling his restless hands, Lincoln was eager to design a magnificent project that would make his name renowned.
"My requirements are simple: it must be beautiful, functional, sustainable, safe, secure, clean, harmonious, and self-sufficient—something like that."
"Uh—"
Hearing Nash's requirements, Lincoln was speechless.
Wasn't this the same as saying nothing?
"What I mean is, what should the focus be?"
"Oh, I want you to focus on beauty, security, and sustainability. I plan to turn the main planet into something like a tourist destination."
"For the other planets, I want functionality, focusing mainly on training, combat, scientific study, building, agriculture, aquaculture, docking stations, mass living quarters, and more."
In Nash's plan, Earth would be a paradise for all living beings, while various work and industries would be transferred to the other seven planets.
This approach was neater, letting him enjoy life without affecting training or work.
Hearing Nash's requirements, Lincoln nodded in understanding.
"Do you have a void map of the planetary system you want to terraform?"
"No, we've just gone from an uncivilized planet to a Tier 1 planet."
According to what Nash had read, planets were ranked into tiers.
Rankings depended on population, talent, powerhouses, economy, security, potential, and more.
Though Earth had no official ranking yet, as the Nova Government hadn't arrived to officiate its autonomy, Earth was likely a Tier 1 planet.
"A Tier 1 planet? That makes it easier…"
Since it was only a Tier 1 planet, Lincoln could shape it as he wished, like a blank canvas.
Brimming with ideas, Lincoln couldn't wait to start the project.
After asking Nash several more questions, they began the contractual process.
Per the contract, Nash would pay 10% upfront, while the construction fleet would be dispatched immediately.
Furthermore, per Nash's request, Earth's renovation must be completed within one year, while the other planets could take five years.
---
After finalizing everything, Nash headed to the other shops.
With Earth's renovation underway, he now needed to buy resources and technology for its people.
Needing various miscellaneous resources, he thought of the Star Tower.
Though they didn't specialize in such products, having a 30% discount made it the best choice.
Finding the Star Tower branch in the Nova Virtual Region, Nash stepped inside.
"Welcome, Sir Noir! Please, let me take you upstairs!" The receptionist greeted him respectfully, alerted by a notification from the tower.
Unlike the Dark Plane, everything in the virtual world was digitized.
The moment Nash entered, his Gold VIP status was instantly recognized.
Following the staff's guidance, Nash waited for the person in charge while thinking about what he needed to buy.
To begin Earth's revolution, he needed many things.
Weapons, training equipment, various transportation vehicles, energy technologies, virtual devices, health chambers, functional technologies, food, seeds, animals, virtual signal relays, and more.
Then there were the big items, like planetary defense weapons and battleships.
The earlier terraforming covered only basic defenses.
To make them work, Nash still had to buy supporting peripherals.
Especially for ships, not just for defense but also for business, tourism, civilian travel, and, most importantly, for himself.
Though he might not leave the planet, having a personal ship was a must!
