Chapter 154: Runic Language
Seeing the next item, Nash felt a flicker of temptation.
Besides its ability to withstand attacks from multiple Void Venerates, he was also interested in its capacity to double soul training efficiency.
Although his current soul saturation progress was fast, but what about when he became a Void Commander or Void General?
With how quickly he earned merits, it would be pointless if his soul couldn't keep up.
Meanwhile, seeing the item, William's eye also gleamed with interest.
"I didn't expect this auction to feature a runic item—a Tier 4 runic item, no less!"
"A runic item? Can you explain it to me?"
Initially, the term didn't ring a bell, but hearing William repeat the word, Nash wondered if it had a connection with his runic space.
"A runic item is etched with runic language, also called the language of laws. The advantage is that anyone can use it, regardless of tier, as long as they have enough external energy."
"More importantly, if an item from the dark plane is etched with runic language, it can still be used there!"
"Like my bracelet, it's a Tier 7 item that can withstand an attack from a Tier 7 dark beast or a War Saint!"
Hearing William's explanation, Nash became curious.
Being able to use items regardless of tier was godlike.
Does this mean that if a person had a tier 9 runic item, they could kill War God with the body of a mortal?
However, he was more curious about other things. What Runic item? Runic language? What connection did it have to the runic space?
"Can I see your bracelet up close?"
"Sure, boss! But I can't take it off, it's sealed by my father."
Nodding, Nash leaned in to examine the embedded runic language.
Unfortunately, upon closer inspection, he couldn't make out anything.
"Do you want to see the runic language, boss?"
"Hmm."
"Then I'll zoom in for you."
Accessing his authority, William magnified the bracelet in his hand and projected the image for Nash.
Seeing a projected image, he could zoom in and out of. Nash began to study what this so-called runic language was about.
After a few zooms, among the intricate lines that resembled a pattern, he finally saw the full picture of the etched runic language.
The familiar runic symbols, arranged in specific forms, left Nash in shock.
The runic language was made of the same symbols that formed his body.
Though arranged differently, he was certain they shared the same origin!
"What's wrong, boss? Are you interested in runic language?" William asked, noticing Nash's dazed expression.
"I'm fine. Just a little intrigued," Nash replied, calming himself.
"Indeed, the first time I heard about runic language, I was also stunned. Most scientists in the Nova Sector focus on matter and life, so it was rare to see runic items."
Scientists were the greatest and most respected profession in the world, as they explored the three fundamental pillars of the universe: Laws, Matter, and Life.
These were further divided into various specializations, leading to countless professions blooming like mushrooms.
"Can you tell me more about this?" Seeing the Elemental Runic Bracelet's price skyrocket to 6 billion nova credits, Nash felt too lazy to bid.
He was more curious about the runic language.
Browsing through the [Memory Module System], he realized he hadn't encountered similar words in the Spirit Pavilion.
As William began his explanation, Nash quickly understood why.
Runic language was something only Void Venerates and above could access.
Being Tier 4 knowledge, it was no wonder he hadn't come across it before.
The reason was that only at the Void Venerate rank could one absorb attributed elemental crystals.
From Void Warrior to Void General, one could only refine attributeless elemental crystals.
Hearing William explain everything he knew about runic language, Nash couldn't help but sigh.
"That's all I know, boss. I haven't studied much, sorry," William said, noticing Nash's sigh.
"It's okay. I heard everything I needed to know."
Through their conversation, Nash confirmed one thing: the runic program and module system he was studying shared the same origin as the runic language.
Though in a different form, it was because the runic symbols didn't detail his body and soul but the laws themselves!
Another thing was that scientists in this world, at least according to William's description, could only grasp fragments of the runic language.
While they knew individual words and could form sentences, they didn't understand the fundamentals, which are the runic symbols behind them.
They could only randomly combine symbols to create intelligible words, hoping to succeed.
Like grasping at straws in the dark, it required relentless, never-ending study to achieve results.
For Nash, however, the runic symbols were laid out to him like a dictionary.
He even had countless foundations and references from runic patterns, commands, and programs, like an encyclopedia.
Though he still had to study to master them, it was as if others were reviewing for a test while he was taking an open-book exam.
Filled with such an advantage, Nash immediately decided on his future path: To become a scientist specializing in runic language!
Not only was it the most respected path, but it was also the most profitable one.
Seeing runic items auctioned for billions of merits without pause, Nash felt his path open wide!
Trying to contain his excitement, he could only watch the auction proceed.
As the auction entered its fourth stage, the items up for sale became slaves, pets, eggs, unique species, and the like.
Not interested in the slightest, Nash slumped in boredom.
Fortunately, before he could doze off, the item he had commissioned Warren to sell was next.
"The next item is a Bloodsnake Egg. Though it has only Tier 6 potential, if nurtured properly, it could ascend to a War Emperor Void Beast! The starting price is 100 million nova credits."
Hearing the host's enticing words, the guests were tempted and began bidding fiercely.
Finally, after the intense bidding, the Bloodsnake egg was sold for 2.4 billion nova credits.
"It's a big profit!"
From a few hundred million merits, it was sold for over two billion nova credits.
Watching the rest of the items being bought one after another, the final segment of the auction finally began.
