Chapter 152: Thousand Treasure Auction
A week later, Nash updated the final module system he hadn't refined: the [Memory] and [Recovery] module systems.
After optimization, the [Memory Module System] could now process and store information much faster.
Before, he still needed to read each word to register the details; now, just a quick scan was enough.
It now possessed automatic language recognition, which enabled faster processing and categorization.
The [Memory Module System] also featured automatic subdivision for each new topic he read and uploaded.
He no longer had to create separate files for each new category added, like tiers of dark beasts, types, professions, materials, herbs, etc.
It was now slightly intelligent, which allowed him to retrieve the needed data faster.
It might not seem significant, but in a tight battle or situation, it could be the difference between heaven and hell.
On the otherhand, the [Recovery Module System] designed to amplify his natural recovery, could now harnessed void energy.
With the aid of void energy, every moment would be like he was taking a high-grade potion.
If he did take a potion, the module system could amplify its effect at least thirtyfold.
With the optimized [Recovery Module System], Nash no longer had to worry about minor injuries.
It could also be used in conjunction with the [Overloading] and [Overclocking] module systems, allowing continuous use at lower amplitude.
The only downside was that it could only heal his body, not his soul.
Integrating the blue runic programs into the [Recovery Module System] was harder than he expected.
His foundation with the blue runic programs wasn't sufficient for such an advanced operation.
Tidying himself for the upcoming event, Nash stood and began to prepare.
"It's finally time for the Auction."
A week before the cosmic competition, a grand auction would take place in the Virtual World.
Not wanting to miss the excitement, Nash ended his current retreat.
---
Thousand Treasure Auction House:
"Is this the venue?" Nash wondered, checking the coordinates Warren had given him.
Seeing the matching virtual coordinate and the lively atmosphere, with all sorts of people dressed in luxurious clothes, he confirmed he had come to the right place.
Walking to the entrance, he presented the Star Token, signifying his VIP status with the Star Tower.
"Please follow me."
Recognizing the token, a receptionist quickly escorted Nash inside, guiding him toward his private room.
Along the way, Nash spotted a familiar figure.
"Camilla?"
After being just months apart, it seemed Camilla had become a different person.
Besides her striking demeanor of a superior, just her void saturation rate had reached an astonishing 1000%.
Stunned by her strength, Nash was dumbfounded.
Did Camilla have some kind of cheat? How could she reach 1000% void saturation in just six months?
Even with unlimited void energy, achieving such a level was unthinkable.
He recalled that even Skylar, the most talented person in the past decade, took nine months to reach 1000% void saturation.
Suddenly, sensing someone watching her, Camilla stopped walking and glanced in his direction.
"Do I know you?" she asked coldly, not recognizing Nash.
Though they were nearly the same height and build, his disguised identity carried a different soul frequency.
Combined with subtle details, Camilla couldn't connect him to his true identity.
"Sorry, just passing by." Not wanting to engage with his current persona, Nash continued walking under the receptionist's guidance.
"What a weirdo."
Though she felt a flicker of familiarity, Camilla couldn't connect him to anyone in her memory.
Brushing it aside, she continued walking toward her subordinates.
"Are you sure Major Camilla wants us to help this Nash guy pass the Cosmic Competition?"
"Isn't that illegal? We'd all be disqualified."
"Idiot, Major Camilla only asked you to keep an eye on him, not to help him directly or anything."
"Who even is this guy? Her lover or something?"
"Ahem! What are you talking about?"
"Ah—Major Camilla, you're here!"
"We were just discussing the person you mentioned earlier!"
"Forget about it. I'm just talking nonsense. If you see him offer help if you can, no need for special care." Camilla said, flustered.
Concerned for Nash in the upcoming cosmic competition, she couldn't help but ask her subordinates to look out for him.
Now, reflecting on it, her request seemed outrageous.
Did asking her subordinates to help mean she doubted Nash's abilities?
Moreover, she wasn't even sure if Nash would attend the Cosmic Competition.
At the thought, Camilla couldn't help but blush.
---
Meanwhile, as Nash settled into his room to wait for the auction, a knock sounded at the door.
"Come in."
With his permission, the person outside the door barged in like it was his home.
"Boss! It's really you! You seem different!" William exclaimed, noticing a change in Nash.
If it weren't for the familiar mask and the star token, he wouldn't recognize him.
"Oh, don't worry about it," Nash replied, brushing it off as he looked closely at William.
"You've gotten stronger so fast. How did you reach 700% void saturation in just a few months?" Nash muttered in shock.
After not seeing William for just two or three months, his strength had skyrocketed beyond belief.
Given William's absorption speed and comprehension, he should still be hovering around 300–400% void saturation.
"Ah, that? It's because I got selected as one of the Seeded Talents of the Nova Sector."
"Seeded Talents? What's that?"
"The Seeded Talents are the collection of the most gifted individuals in the Nova Sector. It's a program to train our sector's representatives for the upcoming Domain-Level Cosmic Competition."
"The program has a hundred spots total, ninety are chosen during the cosmic competition, but ten are picked in advance. I managed to snag one for the advance selection, so my progress sped up a bit."
"Oh? Sounds like the benefits are pretty good."
"They are. First, you get free access to all the advanced astral arts, soul manuals, skills, techniques, and various professional knowledge in the Nova Library."
"Second, you get personal guidance from a War Emperor, plus sparring rights in the realm of your choice."
"Finally, the most important part is unlimited access to the Hollow Core Chamber!"
