Chapter 140: Testing Power (2)
Getting to the void testing chamber, Nash felt all the void energy in his body surge back.
"Please release your void energy to…"
Following various prompts, he began to channel void energy to enhance his body strength, speed, defense, perception, and more.
After a few minutes of testing, a panel appeared before him.
[Void Testing:
Strength: 441x
Speed: 441x
Defense: 441x
Endurance: 441x
Flexibility: 441x
Reaction Time: 750x
Evaluation: An amplification comparable to an elite void commander.]
[Void Ability:
Crimson Eye Perception: Rating - B level
Ultimate Body: Rating - B level]
"I didn't expect my void amplification could reach over 400 times!" Nash smiled with satisfaction.
From studying how each rating was calculated, he learned that a typical void commander at 100% fortification could boost their strength up to 100 times.
Yet, at just over 630% saturation, Nash was already four times as powerful.
Of course, this didn't account for those who advanced with a solid foundation.
If someone advanced with 1000% saturation, their void amplification might reach thousands.
Fortunately, such talents were rare in the Nova Sector, so Nash likely wouldn't face such a monster too soon.
Furthermore, he wasn't too helpless even if he faced such an enemy.
His initial attributes were eight times that of an average person, which didn't factor in the [Overloading] and [Overclocking] module system.
Activating the [Overloading] and [Overclocking] module systems at 20 times the amplification, his initial attributes would soar to 160 times.
Coupled with his over 400-times boost from void energy, Nash could confidently say he feared no one below Void General rank!
This was also why amplification techniques that enhanced innate body power were so rare.
Even William's ancestral secret technique, the Titan Pulse, could only boost strength by 10 times.
This made the [Overloading] and [Overclocking] systems Nash's trump card.
Turning to the two special abilities of his void energy, an interest sparked in his eyes.
[Crimson Eye Perception: Rating B
A fragmented ability unique to the Crimson Beholders.
Tip: Increasing to 1000% void saturation could evolve the ability into a complete ability of the Crimson Beholders.]
"I didn't expect Crimson Eye didn't originate from Arleanians. Crimson Beholders? Are these creatures from other cosmic empires?"
Uninterested in the history of the Arleanians, Nash began to search for information on the Crimson Beholders.
[Not enough permission. Search failed.]
"Tsk, another permission blockage…"
Permission wasn't tied to his planet of origin but to his personal status, contributions, and power.
Having no achievements worthy of attention, he only had basic permissions like everyone else.
Unable to search for any information, Nash turned his attention to the other void ability.
[Ultimate Power: Rating B
A balanced path of power that boosts amplification. Current Void Amplification: 5 times.]
"As expected of the manual I created."
Although the God Body Astral Art didn't have special abilities like Crimson Eye, it maximized the amplification of his void energy.
Such a pure pursuit of power was different from the others.
From the manuals he had read before, at a 600% saturation rate, most could only achieve 200–250 times void amplification at best.
Those with astral arts focused on abilities might only reach 80–90 times amplification at 600% saturation.
Satisfied with the test, Nash moved to the final chamber, which tested the soul.
Unlike the other two testing chambers, upon entering, the prompt simply instructed him to resist various attacks on his soul.
Bracing for the impact, Nash endured a series of torturous assaults, pushing his soul to its limits.
[Soul Test:
Saturation: 143%
Toughness: ???
Quality: ???
Ability: ???]
[Do you want to ping an alert for deep testing?]
"No," Nash quickly denied, calming down his shock.
Staring at the question marks, Nash couldn't believe his eyes.
Did this mean the low-level machine couldn't test the limits of his soul?
He had long suspected his soul was unusual, but seeing the test results left him even more confused.
Calming himself, he swiftly erased all data from the various testing chambers.
From the physical to the void energy, and most importantly, the soul, he wiped everything related to him.
Fortunately, privacy was highly valued in the Virtual World.
Unlike his previous world, where every action on the internet was recorded, in the Virtual World, no one could violate an individual's privacy.
Especially in this testing facility, where one's strengths and weaknesses could be exposed.
Having erased everything, Nash finally calmed down.
The question marks surrounding his soul left him both excited and curious.
Since the testing device couldn't measure the limits of his soul, just how powerful could it be?
Unable to find answers, he moved on to his next task.
Leaving the comprehensive testing facility, Nash went back to the front desk.
"Hello, I want to rent a combat testing facility next. How do I proceed?"
After answering various questions and paying the fee, he was led to another room.
---
In the combat testing room, Nash faced a selection of enemies to choose from.
From void warrior to void commander, void general, void venerate, and more.
The options also included various styles, weapons, professions, and combat techniques.
Nash could even change the environment to anything he desired.
The only problem was that every customization cost additional Nova credits.
The fee he paid only granted access to the combat testing room, not the choice of opponent or settings.
"This place really costs a fortune," Nash grumbled.
Tapping the selection panel, he began to customize his enemy.
[Void Commander: 100% fortification
Weapon: None
Profession: Warrior
Combat Ability: Expert]
(Novice, Expert, Master, Grandmaster, Legend, Mythic, Transcendent)
"Tsk, this combat facility is rubbish. Once I can access other virtual regions, I'll test the Combat Tower!" Nash muttered, yearning for something better.
The Combat Tower was only available on domain-level servers.
He heard it ranks all fighters from all over the domain and comes with various perks and rewards.
Unfortunately, without an official status from the Nova government, he couldn't even visit other virtual servers.
The virtual region in the Nova Sector was too barren.
Though there were virtual arenas and coliseums, they were so lackluster that few bothered to go.
Only the weakest, untalented fighters, desperate for rewards, were drawn to them.
If Nash joined, he'd be bullying void warriors who fought merely for money.
As for challenging higher ranks, he didn't want to draw too much attention either.
Unable to spar with peers of his generation, he was stuck with this low-level combat testing facility.
Customizing his enemy, Nash could only set the saturation rate to 100% fortification and the combat ability to Expert.
With no one to complain to, he reluctantly virtualized his opponent.
As the void commander appeared in his vision, a countdown began, giving him a moment to prepare.
3… 2… 1… Start!
At the start, Nash didn't bother with anything fancy and dashed toward his opponent, punching with all his strength.
Bang!
Like a hammer smashing a potato, the void commander flew back, a grievous dent in its chest.
[Challenge Over.]
[Start Again?]
"Damn, that weak?" Unable to fully control his strength, Nash had attacked with full force.
He hadn't expected a void commander to be so fragile that it couldn't withstand a single blow.
"Is this void commander fake?" Nash muttered in disbelief.
Losing interest in such a weak opponent, he switched to a Void General.
Though he still had an hour left with the Void Commander he'd virtualized, Nash didn't care about wasting money and dismissed it.
Customizing another opponent, Nash paid an additional fee.
[Void General: 30% Condensation
Weapon: None
Profession: Warrior
Combat Ability: Expert]
"Let's see how strong a Void General is!"
According to the description, a Void General at 30% condensation had about 3,600 times the power.
With his innate attributes multiplied by void energy amplification, Nash figured he was roughly on the same level.
The key difference was that his void energy was only at saturation, while the enemy's was already condensing.
If his power was like a mist of void energy, a Void Commander's was water, then a Void General's was like a solid object.
With this difference in power quality, Nash waited in anticipation, watching the countdown above.
Just how great was the gap between them?
3… 2… 1… Start!
At the start, Nash didn't change his approach and dashed toward the opponent.
As his punch was about to land, the enemy tilted to the side, aiming to grab his hand for a counterattack.
With his Crimson Eye Perception slowing and magnifying his opponent's movements, Nash held back his attack, ducked, and aimed a low kick at his opponent.
But the Void General saw through the move and jumped to dodge.
Unfortunately for his opponent, it fell into Nash's trap. His low kick swiftly shifted into a jumping high kick.
Bang!
As the kick struck his opponent squarely from the side, instead of dealing damage, Nash felt a dull pain in his foot.
Worse, as his attack landed, the Void General seized the chance, grabbing his foot and tossing him to the ground.
Feeling the shift in gravity, Nash didn't panic, as he flexibly cushioned his fall to minimize the impact.
Standing on alert, Nash grew more serious.
"It seems the difference between us is immense…"
Feeling his long-dormant battle intent reignited, Nash couldn't help but lick his lips in anticipation.
"Let's see if I can defeat a Void General today."
