Chapter 660: 81
As the higher-ups grovel, the guards wondered if they should walk away. They just could not handle the awkwardness and second-hand cringe anymore.
"My Lord. Can you ... like ... stop the groveling? It's embarrassing." one of the guards managed to say. What he got was more groveling, with even words of having children being born just now. Even when it was known the City Lord's wife is not pregnant, nor did the man have any wife while the Council Members' wives already past the age to give birth.
The boy, having enough, let out a sigh. He touch the metal bar, crumbling it despite the metal made off Magic resistant metal. His Mana shifted, growing ever larger, surpassing many powerful Mages any of the guards had met. Even the oldest and strongest Mages they ever seen before.
At that moment, the guards realized the reason for the panic, and why the City Lord and Council Members went straight to groveling for mercy.
'A 5th Circle Mage.' all the guards thought at the same time before doing what any respectable guards do.
Join their City Lord in groveling so the Mage wil see their sincerity.

Ardent fought the urge to slap his face, repeatedly. In only hurt his face and hand, and do nothing to the second-hand he forced to endure.
'Oh why do they have to overreact?' say the boy who created a Hurricane and Earthquake to prove a point.
Clearing his throat, he was about to say something when the City Lord slammed his head, reaching a new level of subservient that no one ever achieved.
"Please, don't harm the Ci-"
"I won't harm the City, you bunch of overdramatic moron!" Ardent yelled, his patience having reached its limit. Taking deep breath, Ardent rubbed his temple before saying,
"I'm here to force you to do something I plan on doing, not kill you without reason." he said smoothly.
The City Lord, his entourage, and the guards blinked at the proclamation before one of the entourage decide to grow a pair, "So, we can refuse?"
"No." he did say he force them, so any answer is acceptable as long as it's a form of yes.
"Okay." the entourage clearly realizing the right answer and lowered his head down, though not so subtly looking at the City Lord. Ardent looked at the man, before forcing himself to hide his gasp.
The man possessed high talent in both politic, leadership and City building. If not for the man already a City Lord of the third most powerful City in the region, Ardent would have poach him to expedite the growth of Slurom Town.
'To had about that, at least I can get them to help the growth of the Town.'
"So, what do you want us to do?" the City Lord asked, somehow able to calm himself.
"I want you, and your entire territory to join my newly form Nation." Ardent said, planning to squash any sign of rebe-
"Okay. We are now your subject." Cumbra City Lord immediately kneel, other following suit.
Ardent blinked at how fast it went.
"Well, that was quick." he could not help but say.
"Oh, it's the best option for us. The only 5th Circle Mage in the entire region, probably, decided to build a nation and asked us to join his newly formed Nation. Of course we agree. If we don't, we will be threatened by death and so on, correct?"

The City Lord prove why he is the City Lord despite being younger than his Council.
"Even if the newly formed capital is build straight up from a village?" Ardent could not help but asked, his head screaming how it's wrong for the City Lord to accept without a fight.
"Well, that probably your hometown, your Majesty." once again, the City Lord show his way with words, "So, it's make sense for the hometown of the first king of this newly formed Kingdom to be in your village, or your former village.
Your Majesty probably doing your best to get the village to become a capital suited for a kingdom, correct?" Ardent wondered if the City Lord have any ability to see the future, because there is no way for the man to guess all of that, correctly.
"You are correct in that regard." Ardent did not know why, but admitting such thing felt like he was proclaiming his defeat. Oh well. He just have to find a way to surprise the man, even if it is a little.
"Oh, and before any of you ask, this look is my true age." Ardent decided to say. The City Lord nodded, taking it all in while Ardent started the countdown.
'Three, two, one.'
"Wait, what?!"
'Right on schedule.'

After getting over the fact a child, a fourteen year old child, (Ardent corrected them of his age when they guess twice his age,) managed to achieve what many older Mages could not achieve in their lifetime, they calmly sit.
(It's a lie. They did not get over it. The look on their face spoke the truth. And Ardent laughed inside as he gaze as their pain stricken face.)
In the end, Ardent decided to give them a bone, "In my village, there is a dungeon." Life seem to return to the higher-ups of Cumbra City, who nodded in acceptance.
"A dungeon, make sense how such your person achieve that."
"Then again, a dungeon did not explain it all. Talent also a part of it."
"True. Talent and dungeon. It probably allow a young child like his Majesty reach the 5th Circle while being so young, probably 2 years after starting to practice Magic."
Ardent let their words fuel his ego. He deserve such praise once in a while.
"Still, your Majesty, what is your plan?" the City Lord asked. "I mean, your plan to conquer the entire region, which is the main plan, correct?"
Ardent let out a hum before answering, "Yes. I plan on conquering the entire region and uniting it in one banner. Starting with the Main City where my village is located. Then, Cumbra City because of the City being considered the 3rd strongest Main City in the region."
