Chapter 644: 64

"Yeah." Catlin agreed. "If thing goes the way we wanted, the dungeon will not exist and we will grow to become adult and live our peaceful life in the village, and have many children."

Ardent hide his face, not wanting the blonde to see the blush forming on his cheeks.

'Children.' he never was married in his previous life, and did not have children of his own. The thought never escaped him, though.

Unfortunately, to raise a happy family, he need to have better, higher paying job to support his family. With his income barely able to support himself, the idea of a family was shelved.

It was ironic that when he was transmigrated, he did not need to worry about marriage as his ideal partner decided to show herself by arguing with him.

'Fate is a funny thing.' it took him being sent to another world before he can get married. If that was not funny, in the dark humor kind of way, he did not know what is.

"Yeah, children." Ardent scooted down, following Catlin's action.

"So, how many do you want?" he asked.

"What?" it took Catlin three seconds before understanding dawned on her, "Oh, children. Hhhmm, I want a large family, so, maybe 4 to 7."

Ardent almost choked on thin air.

'T-that is a lot.' he thought inside his head. Even three is a lot, yet the minimum his fiance want was 4?!

"Well, with both of us being Royal, maybe we don't need to worry about supporting a large family." Ardent replied.

"Yeah, a large family." Ardent looked at Catlin, wondering what was going on inside her head as she seem to be complimenting something.

"Ardent, what is your thought about Stella?" she suddenly asked.

"Stella?" Ardent wondered where the conversation would go, but answered regardless, "I think she could be an excellent alchemist. She has the talent. The only thing she need is to practice and learned as much as she could-"

"I don't mean it like that!" Catlin cut him off, "I mean your honest thought of her as a man. Think of Stella as a regular woman. How beautiful she is, and things like that." Catlin explained.

"Oh," Ardent really don't know the path the conversation would took, but had agreed to answer the question, so he will.

"I think she is a beautiful woman. Her figure is more mature than yours, but that to expected. Other than that, well, she is determined and well-mannered, but that probably because of her upbringing." Ardent replied as honestly as he could, while hoping he did not step on any landmines.

"... I see." Catlin muttered to herself, before asking, "Then, what about me?"

"..." Ardent feel like he was in grave danger, that a single wrong answer would lead to being slapped, or worse.

He wondered if he need to give the best answer possible, before deciding that no, he should be as honest as he can.

"You are beautiful, probably the most beautiful teen in our village. You also have a personality I found cute, and you determined, wanting to chase after your father and latter myself.

Not to mention, you are still growing, in various way." the last sentence might be perverted, but Ardent believed he need to show he find Catlin's figure attractive, or it will be bad for him.

"... I see." she caressed her bust, clearly taking everything he said seriously.

"Alright, one last question."

'Oh God, not another one.' was what he thought. As for what he said, "Sure. Why not?"

"If I allow it, will you take Stella as your fiance as well?" Ardent cleaned his ears, once, twice before saying, "Can you repeat that? I think I might have misheard you."

"I mean what I said about you taking Stella as your wife." Yup, he still hear the same thing, or at least as close to the same thing.

"What bring this on?" Ardent asked with a worried tone, "I love you, and you are my fiance. I don't plan on taking in another woman no matter how beautiful they are."

"I-it just," Catlin choked, to which Ardent brought her on his lap, letting her nestled in his arms. Putting her in such spot, Ardent watched as Catlin become appear smaller than she actually is.

"It just," she managed to continue, "I learn from my father that kings and powerful nobles would have many wives and mistresses. Most of it because of lust, but that it's important for the lineage of the king to exist for the sake of the nation." she added.

As she explained her reasoning, Ardent's head went through a great crisis.

'Father-in-law! Why did you tell her these things?!' he had the urge to throw something, preferably a mountain, at Cross.

( A certain 3rd Circle Mage shivered, as he felt he would be in grave danger should he not apologize to her daughter. )

"That's other kingdom. We don't need to follow their standards." harem might be a dream for men in both worlds, but the logistic to manage them is near impossible to achieve.

Not only the money needed for everyone in the harem, but there also the fact the husband would need emotionally support everyone, ensuring their mental health and showing his love for every member of the harem.

Plus, Ardent did not want to have a harem that would be plotting the other demise or downfall if he can help it. The best way to achieve that is to not have a harem in the first place.

"Maybe, but you will be the first generation king. If something happen to you, which will be likely the moment the great powers realize the existence of the new kingdom, they might try to assassinate you." Catlin quickly pointed out.

Yes, Ardent recognize the possibility, but he prefer to focus on the presence, preferably finished subjugating the other Main City before thinking of ways to avoid assassination and whatnot.

"Why are you so eager in me building my harem?" Ardent asked. Usually the man would be asking the women, or not depending on the person. But for him, Catlin is the one eager to make a harem for him.
