Chapter 15: You're Pretty Strong (2)
Rip!
Mikasa suddenly grabbed my collar.
Normally, when someone trapped underneath grabs their opponent's arm and collar, they just waste energy and get choked out even faster.
Shhrrriiip!
But Mikasa tore through my uniform with brute force.
I couldn't help but gasp as my clothes shredded like paper.
"What the hell—?!"
In an instant, my chokehold was broken.
Mikasa grabbed my arm and flung me like a ragdoll.
BANG!
I crashed onto my back, pain surging through me.
My insides rattled from the impact, but I forced myself to get up.
Whoosh!
Mikasa's kick came flying at me.
A precise strike aimed straight at my stomach.
I quickly raised my guard to block it.
THUD!
Her kick sent me skidding backward.
A sharp pain shot up my arms.
It felt like getting hit by a sledgehammer.
'What the hell… Is she actually trying to kill me?!'
That choke must have pissed her off.
There was real emotion behind that kick.
Keeping my sore arms up in a guard, I studied her movements.
Dash!
She exploded forward like a sprinter.
The distance between us closed in an instant.
I twitched my shoulder, feinting a punch.
Her eyes flickered in response.
That was my chance.
Instead of throwing a punch, I timed it perfectly—
And shot in for another takedown.
A split-second mind game.
Thud!
My shoulder slammed into her stomach.
It was a perfect takedown.
I grabbed Mikasa's body again, trying to flip her over.
Grrkk!
But this time was different.
Having experienced my takedown once already, Mikasa wrapped her arms around my waist and braced herself.
Her form was sloppy—far from perfect.
But she still managed to stop my tackle.
'Damn it, this isn't even technique… She's just overpowering me with brute force!'
Neither my strikes nor my grappling worked.
Should I just surrender?
As that thought crossed my mind—
Whoosh!
My body suddenly lifted off the ground.
Mikasa had grabbed my waist and hoisted me into the air.
"…Shit."
In that split second, I knew I was done for.
THUD!
She slammed me into the ground with devastating force.
My vision flashed white.
I nearly blacked out.
Before I could even gather my senses, Mikasa climbed on top of me.
Her weight was heavier than expected.
I squirmed, but there was no opening to escape.
'I'm screwed…'
I didn't even have time to surrender before she raised her fist—
"STOP!!"
A loud voice suddenly rang out.
At some point, Shadis had started watching the fight.
"The sparring ends here! Everyone, disperse!"
Shadis ordered the other trainees to break up.
Some of them backed away with disappointed expressions.
I let out a sigh of relief.
Mikasa looked dissatisfied, but she finally got off me.
"Shiniro, are you okay?"
The other trainees rushed over to help me up.
"Y-yeah, I'm fi—ugh."
I tried to answer, but a sharp pain shot through my lower back.
That slam had messed me up pretty badly.
I clutched my waist, lost in thought.
What would've happened if Shadis hadn't stopped the fight?
Mikasa's fist flashed in my mind.
A chill ran down my spine.
