I Became The Vampire Progenitor

Chapter 240: Chapter 206-2: A Powerful Lifeform Undergoing Transformation (Part 2)

Li De furrowed his brow. Cave-ins had happened many times before.

Cyclopes were massive in size, and ordinary tunnels couldn't accommodate them. On top of that, these hulking brutes mined very roughly and rarely paid attention to other considerations, so collapses occurred frequently.

But these beings with ancient bloodlines were extraordinarily tough, even if a tunnel collapsed, it was hard for them to sustain real injuries.

Harrison had reported a few such incidents before. Li De had been concerned at first, but after learning how resilient the Cyclopes were, he no longer treated it as an issue.

"And then?"

Harrison's expression turned extremely strange.

"Whispering Bats can recover from injuries by consuming the fresh blood of other creatures.

Kosso was bleeding profusely from his wound, and the Whispering Bat behind him was gravely injured as well. The bat was completely drenched in Kosso's blood, and at the same time…"

Li De nodded as he suddenly understood. There was no need for further explanation. While gravely injured, the Whispering Bat had been not only bathed in the blood of the Bronze Cyclops Kosso but had also drunk its fill.

The donated blood of a high-tier being carried immense energy. Kosso, who had activated the ancient bloodline of the Ancient Giant and evolved into a Bronze Cyclops, might not quite match a dragon, but he wasn't far off either.

Especially now, as Kosso's recent injuries had fully healed and his Bronze Cyclops bloodline was beginning to reveal even greater potential.

Being able to consume the blood of such an ancient lifeform, it wasn't so strange that a low-level Whispering Bat might begin a transformation.

"How is that Whispering Bat now?"

"Patriarch, the Whispering Bat has been in a state of transformation and slumber for five days, but the process has been extremely slow. It seems to be lacking a crucial force, and the transformation has now stalled.

According to Dylon's assessment, if it cannot complete the transformation within the next three days, there is a high risk it will die."

Li De's expression darkened. "Have you fed it Mana-Infused Blood?"

"We have, and not in small amounts.

While it did somewhat stabilize the bat's condition, it still hasn't been of much use. The issue doesn't seem to be a lack of energy."

Li De frowned in confusion. Under normal circumstances, failed transformations were typically due to energy deficiency. Emi and Grote had both been examples of this. Once they were given large amounts of Mana-Infused Blood, the issue was resolved.

So why wasn't it working on the Whispering Bat?

"Take me to see it."

What kind of creature would a Whispering Bat transformed by Bronze Cyclops blood become?

A Cyclops Bat? Giant Bat? Bat Giant?

Interesting… Li De mused with a secret smile. It seemed those goofy players had rubbed off on him too.

"Yes, Patriarch."

Harrison and Emi led the way, and Li De followed the two of them out of the Mage Tower.

At the same time, curiosity surged in his heart toward the Whispering Bat that had devoured the Bronze Cyclops bloodline.

He had a vague feeling that this bat's transformation might not be so simple.

The Whispering Bat cavern was located midway up a mountain to the east of Dawn City, very close to the Holy Land where the Holy Spirit was stored.

At that moment, on a two-hundred-blade-wide platform of bluestone scarred with claw marks, Li De looked at the curled-up body of the Whispering Bat lying in the center and frowned deeply.

Emi, Harrison, and Dylon all stood behind him.

"Patriarch, this is the Whispering Bat that drank Kosso's blood," Dylon said, his burly frame giving off a powerful presence.

"We brought it back from Giant Valley, but it has yet to awaken."

Li De nodded. "Is Kosso alright?"

"Kosso was fully recovered by the next day. He's still mining ore in the valley."

Li De couldn't help but let out a wry laugh. The Cyclops were already tough, but ever since Kosso had evolved into a Bronze Cyclops, his body had become even more freakishly resilient.

To be able to resume mining the day after such a serious injury, these Cyclopes really were the ideal labor force.

Then, with some anticipation, he opened the Whispering Bat's attribute panel.

Whispering Bat (Undergoing Transformation)

Transforming Race: Unknown.

Current Transformation Progress: 32%

Current State: In Transformation

Success Rate: 1%

Seeing this status, Li De furrowed his brow and turned to glance at another Whispering Bat nearby. He opened that bat's panel for comparison.

Name: Whispering Bat

Level: 7

Innate Skills:

[Frenzy: When injured, they enter a frenzied state, greatly increasing their strength and becoming fearless of pain.]

[Blood Rebirth: Consuming blood rapidly heals their wounds.]

[Superhuman Physique: Whispering Bats raised through special methods possess extremely strong physiques.]

[Sonic Wave: Whispering Bats can emit unique sound waves to locate targets, which can also be converted into a mental spell, permanently fixed as a Tier 3 spell: Mental Shock.]

Description: Giant bats raised by vampires through special methods. They possess immense strength and incredible flying speed, capable of unleashing mental attacks. They are unique creatures of the vampire race.

The Whispering Bat's stats were excellent. Although it had been suppressed when ambushing Stanley, Cologne, and Grote of the Evening Bell Church, that was because the enemies' strength far exceeded the bat's capabilities.

Among peers of similar level, the Whispering Bat was by no means inferior to ordinary professionals.

But now, this transforming Whispering Bat was giving Li De quite the headache. Its status gave no indication of what was hindering the transformation.

And yet, the success rate was listed as only 1%, in other words, a 99% chance of failure.

Wasn't this essentially a death sentence?

"Emi, do you have any ideas?"

Unable to identify the problem, Li De turned to Emi the Blasphemer.

Among the many Level 15 top-tier professionals, Emi's combat power might not be the absolute highest, but thanks to his years in the Temple of the Knight God, his knowledge was certainly among the broadest.

Emi thought for a moment, then replied with a bitter smile.

"Lord Progenitor, I haven't done much research in this area."

He paused, then added hesitantly, "However, I think this Whispering Bat's failed transformation is due to missing some kind of critical element.

And that element is most likely not energy."
