Chapter 86.2
Stage 3-20. Chris Ragnika
“What?”
“[Thunder Flash]!”
A lock of my hair fluttered in the air. Just a moment later, if Reina’s magic had been even slightly slower, Alice’s strike would have landed perfectly, and it wouldn’t have been my hair flying—it would have been my head.
The chill of narrowly escaping death ran down my spine.
“Are you okay, Ouga-kun?”
Reina landed beside me.
Her gaze at Alice was filled with urgency and hostility.
Alice, too, leveled her sword, fixing us with a sharp glare.
“…I thought it was odd. A prisoner without any restraints? Unthinkable.”
Wait, hold on… What is happening here?
The only words my confused mind could muster were her name.
“Alice…?”
“You’ve been saying ‘Alice, Alice’ for a while now. Who is that supposed to be?”
It felt like I’d been struck in the head with a blunt object.
Her words made it clear. I understood completely.
This wasn’t the Alice we remembered. Her behavior made that impossible. And we knew what could cause it.
“…Dark attribute magic.”
Frone had already? No, someone of her caliber couldn’t have escaped my notice.
Then how? Could Andraus have…?
Questions and possibilities flooded my mind. My brain, refusing to accept reality, tried to escape into speculation.
But reality, merciless and unyielding, forced the truth upon me.
“Allow me to inform you. I am Chris Ragnika, the blade of Juke Andraus. As a knight, I will eliminate you intruders.”
—Her crimson eyes, robbed of their light and as deep as a bottomless swamp, glared at us coldly.
