Chapter 55
The Contracted One of the Corrupted Spirit King, Fowler.
He was the boss appearing in the story, so he wasn’t that strong.
About on par with the Black Shadow Rabbit? Just about that.
In fact, he was even more adapted to virtual reality than back then.
The Major Corporation Party quickly secured victory against the revealed Fowler.
‘Looks like that cutscene is about to come out.’
The next cutscene would proceed from Celestia’s perspective.
The overarching theme of the cutscene was very simple.
How does an object of destruction come into being?
There was a time when I thought a lot about this.
The Ancient Necromancer. He was someone ideally suited to be an object of destruction from the very beginning.
The World Tree and the Spirit King. These two were transcendent beings, each guarding another world and the spirit realm.
So, would a third party like the Salvation Church intervene to create such an object?
That could be the case. That was the most likely possibility.
However, the Twisted World Tree and the Corrupted Spirit King.
These two held hidden backstories.
At that time, I didn’t know, nor could I know, what those secrets were.
The reasons why the World Tree must twist and why the Spirit King must fall into corruption.
The protagonist of this Elderheim story, Celestia.
She was, after all, the main character of that story.
.
.
[ Main Story – The Records of Twisting and Corruption ]
.
.
The immortal species, elves, do not come into existence in ordinary ways.
Before the World Tree, when feelings of love are exchanged…
The World Tree, having received the feelings of its creations, blooms flowers and bears fruits.
Once those fruits fully grow, only then does a new elf come into being.
Thus, the number of elves has decreased over time.
All elves were dedicated to the World Tree from the moment they were born.
But one day, an elf was born who did not dedicate himself to the World Tree.
Celestia.
She was an elf born from the love between elves and spirits.
An elf born from the love between an elf and a human existed.
Half-elf. That existence was an elf infused with human emotions.
Yet she inherited the elven characteristic of ‘blind devotion to the World Tree.’
However, between elves and spirits…
The elf born from both, Celestia, was different.
The spirit was a concept shaped by the elements of nature.
Designed to serve the Spirit King from the moment of creation.
Elves dedicated to the World Tree and spirits serving the Spirit King.
Celestia, born between the two, inherited neither of their traits.
An outcast, belonging to neither elves nor spirits.
Yet, Celestia had a special ability.
An ability to communicate freely with the World Tree and the Spirit King,
which was something even the noblest high elf could not easily do.
Communicating with the Spirit King without any restrictions was a feat that even the highest-ranking spirits could manage only rarely.
The most special elf in the world, Celestia.
To the World Tree, she was like a daughter.
And to the Spirit King, she was a unique companion and a treasured bond.
But one day, Celestia was attacked.
Who would attack Celestia?
The Salvation Church? An object of destruction? Or humans?
It was none of those.
The identities of the attackers were, in fact, elves and spirits.
Celestia merely wanted to improve the dire relationships caused by a lack of communication.
But the elves took this as blasphemy against the World Tree,
and the spirits dismissed it as slander against the Spirit King.
A half-elf, half-spirit. A being rejected by both sides.
Her ludicrous claims as an outcast were silenced,
and a witch hunt began against Celestia, who brought chaos to Elderheim.
Thus, Celestia could no longer remain in Elderheim.
She became a hunted being and had to erase all traces of herself.
She abandoned the breathing techniques of the forest. No longer did Celestia’s scent carry the aroma of grass.
The identity of the elf was erased.
She forgot the flow of water. No longer could the elemental magic be sensed within Celestia’s body.
The identity of the spirit was erased.
The World Tree and the Spirit King could no longer sense Celestia’s existence.
The night Celestia escaped from Elderheim.
The high elf representing all elves stood before the World Tree and recounted the events of the day.
The accomplishments of sending back the entity cloaked in the shell of the elf who blasphemed the World Tree to nature.
The highest spirit, representing all spirits, reported to the Spirit King.
The results of banishing the being mimicking the spirit who slandered the Spirit King from the spirit realm.
This was the backstory of the birth of an object of destruction, not recorded in history a thousand years ago.
And now, a thousand years later.
The twisting and corruption, which had plunged into a deep slumber due to the hero, Aurora,
was once again brought into the present due to the intervention of the Salvation Church, a faction working to bring forth the god of destruction.

Suzuka felt as if she was dreaming.
Twisting and corruption. In that cutscene, Suzuka experienced many emotions.
The feelings of betrayal the World Tree and Spirit King felt toward their creations.
The sense of loss from losing something precious, guilt, anger, and sadness.
“To save the elves, I must…”
The dying Fowler reached out toward the Twisted World Tree.
Did he instinctively understand? That the World Tree does not forgive its creations, the elves.
In the past, the original sin committed by elves and spirits.
The old elf, Heidal, who asked Fowler not to kill the World Tree.
Perhaps he left that request because he understood that original sin.
“Such a pitiful expression, Suzuka?”
“… Celestia.”
Celestia stood beside Suzuka, her gaze fixed on Fowler.
“What you just witnessed is a part of my memory. How do you feel?”
Suzuka, flustered by Celestia’s words,
quickly regained her composure and answered her question.
“I feel sorry for everyone. The elves, the spirits, the World Tree, the Spirit King, and… you too.”
The elves could not comprehend the true will of the World Tree.
With simple communion, it was bound to face limitations in communication.
The same went for the spirits.
The absence of communication. This was the beginning of all tragedies,
and it was also heartbreaking that Celestia, who tried to solve this issue, suffered devastation.
“They paid their debts. They have settled their karma. There is no reason to feel sorrow, right?”
“…”
Celestia’s words were valid. They were one hundred percent true.
Suzuka couldn’t help but feel compelled to agree and could not retort.
“I don’t care about my kind. I just want to save my mother and my friends.”
*Chuckle—*
Celestia’s gaze turned toward Fowler.
Above the fallen figure was the silhouette of the Corrupted Spirit King.
Giving off an unsettling laugh, it stared at Celestia.
“Elly. Just wait a little longer. I’ll return everything to how it was.”
The Corrupted Spirit King showed no reaction.
It merely gazed for a moment, and perhaps losing interest, vanished.
“… It has returned to the spirit realm.”
Celestia turned her gaze back to Raven and Suzuka.
“Your goal is the object of destruction, right? I can help.”
“You can help? What do you mean…”
Suzuka’s words could not be completed.
An overwhelming pressure tightened around her, causing her to instinctively shut her mouth.
Raven, Celestia, and Suzuka all looked at the same spot.
The place where the Twisted World Tree was situated.
Dark Elves were glaring at them with crimson irises.
Did Fowler fall, and thus the seal was broken?
“Like the method Hero Aurora used, we will quell the twisting and corruption.”
“Hey, hey! The Dark Elves are coming this way!”
[ Dark Elf Lv.70 ]
Roughly counting, there were hundreds of Dark Elves charging like beasts hunting for prey.
Celestia, who viewed the sight nonchalantly, opened a space of A-Space.
The crack formed in mid-air spat out an unknown magic scroll before disappearing.
“It’s a teleport scroll. Best to stay put if you don’t want to be eaten alive by those Dark Elves.”
With Celestia’s next words, the panicking Suzuka caught sight of something.
An elf guardian who was collapsed in front, Fowler.
He was breathing, albeit very faintly.
“W-wait a moment!”
Without even a chance to stop her, Suzuka dashed out from the teleportation magic circle.
Following Suzuka, Raven also rushed out,
while Celestia, watching the scene in a daze, placed her hand on her forehead.
“Why…?”
“I don’t know!”
Ignoring Fowler’s question, Suzuka lifted him in a princess carry.
“Suzuka! Lower your head!”
Raven, who caught up late, hastily began to cast the black magic, Dark Spear.
Both the Ancient Necromancer and the Sorrowful Witch could use the black magic,
and Raven utilized the black magic more through the powers of the Sorrowful Witch than that of the Ancient Necromancer.
Although Raven, as a male, didn’t quite mix well with the power of a witch,
it seemed as if he was not simply a vessel made to hold the god of destruction; he quickly grew accustomed to it.
Thus, while receiving Raven’s protection, Suzuka successfully rescued Fowler.
Barely entering the teleportation magic circle, the spell activated immediately.
They were transported to the outskirts of Elderheim, near the entrance.
“You’ve lost your mind.”
“Ahaha…”
As a consequence of her reckless actions, Suzuka had to endure Celestia’s barrage of nagging.
Gazing at Raven with eyes pleading for help, but it had no effect.

The Major Corporation Party consecutively moved through all of Elderheim’s main story.
The outlines of the Twisted World Tree raid, which was rumored only, became clear.
In this raid, NPC ‘Celestia’ would join them.
However, she wouldn’t fight alongside them the entire raid.
Rather, Celestia would appear at certain moments to lend her assistance.
The Twisted World Tree raid. Minimum entrance level 80.
Currently, the highest-level character was Master Kim’s warrior, at level 66.
The rest of the Major Corporation Party was at level 65.
The average was about level 63 based on the advanced party.
Different dungeons were hidden in and around Elderheim,
and hunting grounds were filled with Dark Elves, the Salvation Church, and corrupted spirits.
While everyone was frenzied to reach level 80,
I logged in with my long-forgotten alternate character to prepare for the raid.
I was still not at the minimum entrance level required for the Twisted World Tree raid.
What I wanted to do was the solo clear of the Elder Lich Raid.
Solo clear, short for solo victory.
It was the act of defeating a boss monster meant for multiple people all on your own.
The problem was that the first gate of the Elder Lich Raid was a Great War.
The difficulty of this first gate was designed for a raid party.
In other words, it was set up for 32 people.
But I couldn’t find a raid team, so I had no choice but to challenge it alone.
Even if the holy maiden, the rice-eating holy maiden, and the nuclear bomb, Pera = ㅁㅁㅁ, etc…
Even though everyone called Akare all kinds of nicknames in the community.
Wasn’t it odd that not everyone doing Akare was doing so in Akagall?
It was a legitimate question to have.
But there was a sad backstory to all of this.
– An Inquisitor…? What kind of job is that?
– Bro, it’s a PVP one-trick trash job.
– Oh, is that so? Then… I’m sorry.
“Ah.”
Why did I choose to be an Inquisitor?
Why can’t I play the game normally?
I couldn’t blame anyone else.
This was the path I had chosen.
I entered the Forward Base alone.
Buzz, buzz—
As expected of the number one game, many people gathered at the Forward Base.
Like how during school lunch, all the other kids wander around in groups,
I felt isolated, sitting alone in a corner eating my meal.
Just when I was about to enter the first gate alone…
“Ms. Pera.”
“Who…?”
When I turned around to the sound of a familiar voice.
“I will help you.”
The mage-dressed Akachan was looking at me.
“Akachan…!”
She said she wanted to have fun before.
Looks like she was leveling up like me!
Just as tears of joy were about to come out.
“We have one DPS spot left in our party.”
A warrior with a blond, tanned, delinquent character stepped in between me and Akachan.
“If you don’t have a party, why don’t you come with us?”
He pulled some NTR on us.
