Chapter 10: It Is Justice for the Golden-Haired Loli to Be a Tablet!
"Good morning, Jiang Cha. I'm He Qin, from Room 2."
The next morning, just as Jiang Cha stepped out of the dormitory, she was greeted by a massive bun.
No—by a witch with a bun.
The girl with the elaborate hairstyle bowed gracefully, her voice soft and her expression gentle.
He Qin’s appearance was the very picture of sweetness. Delicate, polite, and comforting to look at—like the kind of person you just knew was good-natured.
She radiated a calm charm.
"Ah, hello, Maru— I mean, He Qin. I'm Jiang Cha."
Jiang Cha found herself distracted by the sheer volume of hair piled on He Qin’s head. It looked /N_o_v_e_l_i_g_h_t/ like a traditional Japanese-style bun, but the sheer mass made it seem almost absurd. If she were human, it might have injured her neck. But He Qin was a witch, with the strength and stamina to match. She wore her ornate hair with ease.
'All of my roommates are such characters…'
Jiang Cha sighed inwardly. One was a complete recluse. One was loud and full of energy. And then there was He Qin—gentle, refined, and oddly traditional.
That made Jiang Cha the most ordinary of them all.
"Maru...?"
He Qin tilted her head. As her soft black hair swayed, the bun somehow looked even more exaggerated.
"Nothing, nothing. Nice to meet you, He Qin."
She waved it off quickly.
"Yesterday, Lina said you were incredibly beautiful. Seeing you now... she wasn’t exaggerating."
"You’re very pretty too, He Qin. Please just call me Jiang Cha. We're roommates now—no need for formalities."
"Then I’ll take your lead, Jiang Cha."
The two chatted as they walked out together, books in hand. For the first time, Jiang Cha realized just how lively the dorm district was.
Dozens of young witches moved about—each with their own sense of style and magic energy. The air shimmered faintly with mana.
"Jiang Cha-san?"
"Sorry, I just... this is my first time seeing so many witches at once. It’s a lot to take in."
The rush of information had frozen her brain for a moment.
"Are you an awakened witch, Jiang Cha?"
"I lost my memory for some reason, so I’m still catching up on the basics."
"Oh... I’m sorry to hear that."
"No need to apologize. I may ask for your help with common knowledge now and then."
"Of course! I’ll do my best!"
He Qin immediately perked up, taking on the role of guide with a kind of serious grace.
"This commuter shuttle will take us straight to today’s classroom. First subject: 'Introduction to Witch History.' Have you had time to prepare?"
"I read a bit yesterday."
"That’s good."
He Qin smiled in relief.
"Professor Ailivia is... strict. If you don’t prepare, she’ll call on you to stand through class."
"That’s oddly nostalgic."
"It does feel familiar, doesn’t it?"
Strict teachers, stiff old-school expectations—it was all very aristocratic. Though it was the 22nd century, many witches still clung to tradition. Some had even lived through those bygone eras.
They were wealthy, conservative, and powerful—not necessarily the strongest in combat, but with immense magical heritage and influence.
And Professor Ailivia? Her name alone screamed old nobility.
By the time they reached class, only a few students had arrived, chatting in pairs.
"He Qin~ Qinbao~ Morning!"
A high-pitched voice rang out.
It belonged to a petite, blonde girl—no taller than 1.3 meters—sitting on a desk and kicking her feet.
"I told you not to call me Qinbao in public..."
He Qin’s face turned pink. Her voice dropped to a murmur. Jiang Cha barely heard it.
But the blonde didn’t seem to care. She leapt down and wrapped He Qin in a hug, shamelessly rubbing her face into her chest before turning her sparkling blue eyes toward Jiang Cha.
"Jiang Cha?"
"Nice to meet you, Lina."
Lina’s eyes lit up. "Everyone! We’ve got a super pretty girl in our class! Let’s give her a warm welcome!"
Cheers erupted from all corners of the room.
He Qin leaned close and whispered, "Lina’s always like this."
"It’s fine. I like her energy."
A golden-haired ball of sunshine who loved to cuddle? What’s not to like?
'Right in the strike zone.'
Lina clapped her hands. "Alright, everyone settle down. We’ve got our D12 dorm together—well, minus Estel. She’s probably off in some lab again."
Then she turned back to Jiang Cha.
"Can I call you Chabao? It’s like a nickname!"
"Sure, I don’t mind."
"Yay!" Lina hugged her tightly. "Not as developed as Qinbao, but you’ve got potential!"
"Aren’t you the one who needs to grow a bit?"
Jiang Cha chuckled. Her figure wasn’t bad—certainly not flat. Lina, on the other hand, was... petite.
"Exactly! With this look and height, flat is justice! Lolitas are justice!"
"What about a black-haired loli?"
"That’s a young wife. Ultimate tier."
"Comrade!"
"My dear!"
They embraced like long-lost sisters.
He Qin stood aside, watching them bond over bizarre topics she couldn’t understand. She felt a little left out.
But just as that thought crossed her mind, Jiang Cha turned and gave her a playful wink—softly biting her lower lip like she was saying, "Don’t worry, you’re not forgotten."
'Jiang Cha… is really sweet.'
He Qin blushed and looked away.
"Qinbao! Qinbao!"
Lina tugged at her robe.
"Let me borrow your notes, pleeease."
"You got too caught up in battle and forgot to take them again, didn’t you?"
With a resigned sigh, He Qin handed her a black notebook.
"Come battle with us sometime! Your puppets are strong! You’d be amazing!"
"I’ll pass..."
"Qinbao, you’re too soft. You’ll get bullied out there."
Jiang Cha watched with mild amusement.
Lina’s sly expression gave her away—she forgot her notes on purpose just to get closer to He Qin.
