Chapter 25
– I’m looking to hire a YouTube editor.
– As for the revenue, it’s quite a sensitive issue, so let’s meet directly to negotiate. If anyone’s interested, please apply through my email.

– Regarding the revenue…
– Let’s meet directly to negotiate.
Rattle rattle.
– Let’s meet directly to-
Click.
– Let’s meet directly to-.
Click.
– Let’s meet directly to-…
It’s a dark room.
With blackout curtains on every window, it’s so dark that you can’t tell if it’s day or night.
A woman sits in front of a computer, diligently manipulating something.
The voice on the screen begins to repeat what the woman has made it say.
With every click of the mouse, the 20-second voice shrinks down.
From 20 seconds to 10, then from 10 to 5.
The voice of the broadcaster Mollru gets chopped up.
It seems her goal was to listen to specific parts repeatedly, and with a satisfied face, she sets her hand down from the mouse on the now 5-second voice.
“To meet directly…”
She exhales, tilting her head back.
How long has she been sitting like this? Her entire body feels heavy.
She can’t even remember when she started.
As always, after stretching out a little, she checks her inbox.
Sent mail.
Before Mollru announced that she was looking for an editor, she had sent an excited application email.
The woman checks once more to see if there were any shortcomings in the email she sent.
Video quality.
Fan appeal.
Experience appeal.
She successfully sent the email exactly as planned, yet she can’t shake off this anxiety.
Should she attach another video she had made and send another email now?
Just as Mollru finished editing “The Driving,” it occurred to her.
No, that might seem too clingy.
In her view, Mollru, the streamer, preferred things concise and neat.
Not being overly persistent or nagging.
If Mollru’s preference was to be clingy, she would be crawling on the floor multiple times.
Creak
What if she doesn’t get picked?
The anxious woman, who habitually chewed on her nails, closed her mail and logged on to another site.
It’s the EOW Gallery, which she now checks at least once a day.

Suddenly, the mysterious community is filled with chatter about streamer Mollru.
<Are they really picking a Mollru editor?>
ㅇㅇ: Finally, they’ve listened to us! Please start a YouTube and upload some EOW videos. I’ll watch them whenever I have time.
ㄴ ㅇㅇ: Looks like they’re definitely lurking around the gallery, lol. Not just about the editor, but during the last drinking stream, they seemed to know most of the gallery’s gossip.
ㄴ ㅇㅇ: Mollru is a gay noob.
<How many will Mollru even have on YouTube?>
There hasn’t been anyone with this kind of style until now, so it’s hard to gauge, lol. Is 100K even possible?
ㄴ ㅇㅇ: Does 100K look easy? Lol. Live streams and YouTube are different.
ㄴ ㅇㅇ: Still, with Mollru, I can see applicants pouring in. The moment they start, it’s clear they’ll do well.
As she scrolled through the comments attached to every post, the woman furrowed her brow.
There seems to be a lot of agreement that there will be many applicants.
Most gallery users apparently clicked a lot of likes on that comment.
The woman somewhat agreed with that notion but didn’t hit like.
The more applicants there were, the further away her dream seemed.
She wasn’t lacking in skill.
In fact, she was very confident.
If it came down to a fair competition based solely on editing skills, she wouldn’t lose.
What worried her was something else.
When it comes to editing skills, once you’ve reached a certain level, to the average person, everything looks decent enough.
While she didn’t believe Mollru’s standards were that low… who knows?
What if Mollru, overwhelmed by the crowd, didn’t recognize her?
What if she ended up hiring someone else as the editor?
I was the first to like.
I was the first to recognize Mollru’s charm.
It’s only me who knows all the little details like when she gets flustered and goes quiet.
Or the slurping sounds she makes while turning pages.
Or how many gulps it takes when she drinks.
These are my secrets.
I was also the first to subscribe, to chat, and to promote in the community…
At the peak of her anxiety, something irritating caught her eye.
<What’s up with all the hype around Mollru? Lol>
She just does boring streams, doesn’t care about the viewers, just does her thing and logs off, and you’re all praising her? You guys are such sheep!
“What a freaking…!”
Naturally, her fingers instinctively went to the keyboard, but she calmed herself.
She almost spilled some cuss words, but she realized her position.
She was using the same nickname on both the switch and EOW gallery.
With that nickname, it’s obvious she would be identified as Mollru’s manager, making her actions too reckless.
If unnecessary drama arises, it could reflect badly on Mollru.
But there was no way she could just sit still after seeing such unpleasant comments.
She decided to leave her thoughts in a comment, tucking her feelings in as politely as possible.
Rain: Then just don’t watch! Haha.
This should be okay.
A somewhat grumpy comment, par for the course in the gallery.
Her heart filled with rage began to settle down a bit.
When she saw likes appearing on her comment, she quietly smiled.
Twinkle
A notification popped up at the top of the screen.
Startled, she opened the window to check the message.
New mail (1)
From: Mollru
Mail, mail has arrived.
The woman’s eyes widened when she saw the notification.
She almost let out a cheer but quickly shut her mouth and just rolled her eyes silently.
The awaited news had arrived, but whether it would be good or not was still uncertain.
Before she could confirm the content of the email, she wouldn’t know anything.
They might send an email saying, “You can’t join us-.”
If it were the streamer Mollru she knew, that would be totally plausible.
With tension tightly coiling her body, she hovered her shaking hand over the mouse.

“What’s with all this…?”
I glanced at the overflowing inbox, my tongue stuck out.
Countless emails lined up under the title [Editor Application].
Since yesterday’s stream, I had received applications that were pouring in.
What made them apply in such numbers?
I don’t think I possess a particularly attractive element as a broadcaster.
Maybe the opinions of professional editors are different.
Could it be…? Am I somewhat amazing?
Ahem.
Clearing my throat lightly to refocus.
Arrogance is always dangerous.
These folks probably just supported me as fans.
If that’s the case, then these many people applied purely out of fan emotion.
That’s also a pleasant thing.
I started reading through the applications one by one.
From applications overflowing with praise to those confidently stating they could grow the YouTube channel while analyzing me from head to toe,
There was a variety of mail.
It was my first time working with someone in a business like this.
Choosing such a partner means I had to be cautious.
I was evaluating the applicants on my own strict terms.
What mattered most was undoubtedly editing skills.
Not effects or subtitles added to videos.
That was just a matter of personal editing style, so judging the quality wasn’t relevant.
What’s most important for an editor?
How well they can ‘cook’ the subject matter, in this case, ‘me.’
So, how engaging and appealing the video made about me would be key.
In that regard, all the applicants I’ve seen so far were eliminated.
The videos were entertaining.
The edits were neat at times.
However, these videos could have been substituted with someone else in the starring role without much difference.
If it weren’t for me, they wouldn’t feel particularly out of place.
What I wanted were videos that captured the characteristics unique to my broadcasts, ones that screamed “Mollru.”
There was only one such video.
I opened the earliest application—the one that arrived even before I mentioned I was looking for an editor.
– The swordsman is a tier 1 agent.
– The waterfall that the older ones adore is-.
The most ‘Mollru’ video, in my opinion.
It features dazzling EOW gameplay, yet the broadcast elements shine through.
I appreciated how well they edited my best jokes.
It’s a ridiculous thought, but I could almost see the editor enjoying themselves while working on this project.
The editor was decided.
With my own standards carefully weighed,
I reread the application sent by Rain one more time.
– From the moment I first saw it, I thought, this is the person. This feeling of falling in love at first sight. –
Could this excessive fan sentiment lead to the making of the video?
It feels a bit burdensome, as it seems they like me a little too much.
But oh well, it should be fine.
I sent a reply stating my wish to hire her as an editor.
