I Became a Malicious Streamer

Chapter 18

“So to sum it up, you want to use my sister as a model for your clothing store?”

“Yes, that’s right! I have an offline store and an online shopping mall, but I’m searching for a model for the site.”

Ji-yeon nodded as if she understood, looking in my direction.

Maybe she had received such proposals many times before.

Her gesture seemed to ask how I wanted to proceed.

It didn’t seem like she intended to stop it.

In this aspect, she wasn’t overly protective.

A model, huh…

I heard something unexpected.

The woman who introduced herself as Eun-ha began her pitch with bright, sparkling eyes.

“The new arrivals are in, but there’s no model! I can’t use an amateur, my pride won’t allow it.”

“I’m an amateur, though…”

Could it be that Ji-eun had modeled in the past?

I cautiously said this while checking Ji-yeon’s reaction, but it seemed Ji-eun had never done modeling.

Eun-ha looked surprised at the mention of amateur status, her eyes widening like a rabbit.

And whatever it was that hit a nerve with her, she started to appeal even more intensely.

“It’s surprising that you’re an amateur with that face, but that’s even better! Your image hasn’t been consumed yet, plus you’d be doing your first project with me!”

“But I have no experience, so it might be tough for you to shoot…”

“I’ll take full responsibility! Just trust me!”

Eun-ha said this while thumping her chest like a warrior!

Wait, she wasn’t that boisterous before!

The innocent and unaware woman who had been guiding me had vanished, replaced by some bold character!

Maybe she wanted to give me a strong impression, as she repeatedly pounded her chest, blowing out puffs of air.

It felt a bit awkward…

“But do I really have to be the model? I feel like I’m belittling myself by saying this, but I’m not good at smiling…”

“No, no! It has to be you, Ji-eun! I’ve made my decision!”

“You’re exactly my type!”

As she said this, she grabbed my hand and locked eyes with me.

I flinched momentarily, showing my surprise.

Earlier, she couldn’t even make eye contact, right?

Is this what artists are like?

Once they get fixated on something, they charge ahead without looking back?

That mad gaze of hers is intimidating!

It’s a look that clearly screams she wants to possess me.

So that’s the creepy vibe I felt earlier!

“…Could you please let go of my hand? My sister is a bit uncomfortable with physical contact.”

That’s when Ji-yeon, who had been quietly respecting my wishes, jumped in.

While I was flustered, she seized Eun-ha’s wrist.

“Oh, I’m sorry if I made you uncomfortable! I didn’t mean to put any pressure on you!”

“No, it’s fine.”

Eun-ha stumbled as she pulled her hand away, seeming anxious that I might be hurt.

If anything, that was a bit like the person I saw before.

She had changed so rapidly.

Clearing her throat, Eun-ha spoke again.

“So! If it wouldn’t be too much trouble, can I ask for you to model?”

As I remained silent, her voice grew a little louder.

“Of course! All the clothes you try on will be free! And naturally, you’ll get paid!”

“Um, could it… not be me…?”

Eventually, I had planned to go shopping with Ji-yeon anyway, since my wardrobe was bare.

It seemed more efficient to go to Eun-ha’s store rather than hopping around different shops.

I decided I’d figure out whether or not to model later.

Looking at the two eagerly awaiting my answer, I finally said,

“Shall we head to the store first?”

*

Eun-ha’s store wasn’t too far away.

It was about a 10-minute walk from the cafe we were at.

Since she was someone who frequented the area, it made sense that she could lead me there.

Arriving at Eun-ha’s store, I found myself in a slightly awkward situation.

“Sis, try this one on first!”

“Oh, and can you wear this next?”

“Wow! This is pretty. There are so many nice clothes here. You’d look great in it, sis!”

“Right? The moment I saw it, I thought it was perfect for Ji-eun!”

This wasn’t some doll dressing game…

I mumbled to myself, dragging the pile of clothes into the dressing room.

I had already lost count of how many outfits I had tried on, but at least they hadn’t insisted on dressing me themselves; I would have been mortified if they had.

I’d have to accept help with certain clothes, though, like those with zippers in the back.

This outfit was one of those.

I roughly closed the front and stepped out, asking them to zip up the back for me.

Once dressed, I turned around to show my look.

Cue the applause!

“Wow, you look so beautiful!”

“When we saw you at the cafe, I was unsure, but you didn’t wear any makeup. Yet, you still look this good… No retouching needed!”

This wasn’t a fashion show; what was happening here?

From casual everyday wear to fluttery styled dresses, the choices were endless.

But I outright refused to wear skirts.

It seemed most of the outfits were mixed with skirts, and I felt sorry for Eun-ha, who looked like she was about to cry.

But I couldn’t help it; I couldn’t mentally handle that yet.

Luckily, Ji-yeon respected my wishes.

Eun-ha nodded, as if understanding me, approvingly stating that having personal fashion principles was a good thing.

Fashion principles? I don’t have any of those.

As someone who found shopping bothering, I preferred to have a few comfy outfits to rotate through.

The more versatile and location-agnostic, the better.

Whether at the house, a restaurant, or for the rare outings.

I favored multipurpose fabrics that could be worn anywhere, and unfortunately, Ji-eun’s closet had very few of those.

That’s why I wanted to go shopping for such useful clothing.

“Should we try changing the color this time? No, that might be too bright and make you uncomfortable, so how about the material—.”

“Let’s go a bit more minimalistic. You haven’t tried that one on yet!”

The odds of my preferences being met looked slim.

From thin summer wear to clothes for the winter, I was trying on whatever came my way without regard for the season.

I still hadn’t agreed to model yet.

Even without a shoot, I was already feeling exhausted.

If that’s how I felt just trying on clothes, maybe it would be better to have an actual shoot?

When I first arrived, things had been manageable.

Eun-ha’s store, specializing in women’s clothing, had many pretty items even I could appreciate.

I shrugged, realizing I made a good decision to come straight here instead of wandering elsewhere.

But that thought changed in an instant.

I had come out to shop with Ji-yeon, yet somehow, I was the only one trying clothes on.

How many times had I worn something they insisted suited my sister?!

I watched with a warm face as my sister sifted through the pile of clothes.

Yeah, I’m just a mannequin, aren’t I…?

As long as you’re happy, that’s all that matters.

But I needed to say this before it was too late.

“Shall we do a shoot?”

Eun-ha looked excited as she handed me more clothes while glancing at her camera.

*

“Great! Could you twist your body slightly to the left? A little more! Perfect!”

The flash goes off.

The smooth camera lens is aimed right at me.

Soon, a click sound signals that the picture has been taken.

Despite naming this a shoot, not much had changed from earlier.

I still stepped out in the outfits Eun-ha handed me.

Then I posed as instructed.

Choosing concepts that suited the clothing and expressing them—they seemed easy enough.

The only hiccup I encountered was one small area.

“Could you smile for me? Just a slight lift at the corners… Yes, a little more!”

My lips quivered awkwardly.

My face froze.

I endeavored to move my stiff facial muscles.

The result of trying to smile ended in this weird expression.

I knew it’d come to this!

This body, I mean Ji-eun, doesn’t smile easily!

Was it a natural-born issue? A naturally unsmiling face?

I discovered this after twisting and turning my face in front of a mirror on the very first day this body transformed.

I’ve heard people say I have a humorless face too.

I don’t smile easily either, but Ji-eun took it to another level.

Other poses and expressions came easily, like those showing off confidence or a more smug demeanor.

With just a tiny bit of effort, there came a green light from Eun-ha.

And the indignant expressions… well, she just told me to hold my expression and stay quiet, which I appreciated!

The outfit I currently wore was casual with bright colors.

I had to create a lively atmosphere to match it, and of course, I had to smile!

Ji-eun’s expression, however, was far from bright.

What kind of expression am I making right now?

From the frantic swirling of Eun-ha’s eyes, it must not have been great.

Wouldn’t she be unable to criticize me since she said it was okay?

She seemed confident, but maybe she didn’t expect this.

The shooting continued.

I wanted to finish it desperately in a way that I could at least manage a smile.

I was running low on energy!

Is there any trick to it?

Just then, Eun-ha looked at me with a serious expression and asked,

“Ji-eun, do you know what land is filled with people who do everything half-heartedly?”

This sudden quiz threw me off.

What is she talking about?

I pondered briefly.

“What’s the answer?”

“The answer is ‘Eul-reong-dung-dang’! Everything’s done half-heartedly! Eul-reong-dung ‘dang’!”

As Eun-ha finished her quiz, Ji-yeon looked at her like she was incredulous.

“…Did you really think that joke would land? What do you think my sister is?”

Pfft,

I couldn’t help but burst out laughing.

No, jokes like that should be illegal!

Eun-ha seems to have an unexpectedly good sense of humor!

Ah, I was in the middle of a shoot.

Again, my laughter was cut short as I focused back on the camera.

Eun-ha stared at me, eyes wide with surprise.

Ji-yeon carried an expression that seemed to say she felt betrayed.

I quirked my head in confusion.

…What’s going on? Did I do something wrong?
