I Became a Little Vampire Princess After Being Infected by a Game Virus

Chapter 6: What the Heck is This Code?

Chapter 6: What the Heck is This Code?

“Hey there, big guy and little miss! You two here for the selection too?”

While they were still lining up, a young man with black hair greeted them from behind.

“Selection? Isn’t it just shouting out the secret code to meet His Majesty the King? Why is it called a selection?”

Yake turned to chat with the black-haired guy.

“Ah, big guy, it seems you don’t know yet! I heard that His Majesty’s beloved wife was kidnapped by some thugs from who-knows-where! Right now, His Majesty is recruiting brave souls to rescue her.”

The black-haired guy went on to explain what this meeting opportunity was actually about.

“Apparently, any warrior who passes the selection can join the rescue team, and if they successfully bring back the wife, His Majesty will give each one a hefty reward. That’s why so many people are showing up!”

“I see, so it’s all about the money, huh?”

Aierjisi finally understood why there were so many people here. She had thought they all came to help King Gaia, but it turns out they were all here for the cash! But that’s normal; a big reward will surely attract many unusual folks.

[But why does this selection involve using a code?]

That was the only part that still baffled Aierjisi; she couldn’t wrap her mind around it.

“But the selection is about the code, right? It can’t be that easy! If it was just a casual pick, that’d be one thing.”

“Hey! Don’t underestimate me! I, Juno, have both bravery and wisdom! I can match that code in a flash!”

Juno proudly pat his chest, confident in his ability to pass the selection.

“Well, let’s hope you don’t get tossed aside.”

After Aierjisi said that, she and Yake continued on their way, curious to see what this so-called code was all about.

“Only one person can enter at a time. Which of you is going in first?”

A Guard blocked Aierjisi and Yake’s path. To prevent the code from leaking, only one person could go in at a time.

“I’ll go in first. Yake, you wait here for me.”

“Understood.”

After giving Yake a nod, Aierjisi stepped in alone to face the code.

“Welcome. Huh? Why is there such a little girl? This isn’t a toy store; you should hurry and leave.”

Seeing that Aierjisi was just an 11-year-old girl trying to participate in the code matching, the examiner frowned, thinking she was simply causing trouble.

“Wait a minute. His Majesty said anyone who can match the code is to be considered, so let her try.”

Another examiner stopped him. Regardless of who showed up, everyone deserved a chance to give it a shot.

“Alright then, let’s get to the code, little girl. I’ll say a series of codes that you need to repeat back to match. Got it?”

“Okay, okay, I got it. Just hurry up and give me the questions!”

Aierjisi was also a bit impatient. Ugh, why are humans in this world so slow?

“Fine, I won’t hold back. Listen carefully: Three bottles, hit twice. What’s the next line?”

Honestly, when Aierjisi heard this code, her mind went blank. Why did it sound so familiar? Hadn’t she seen it online before?

“Big brother does military boxing?”

Although she had no idea if she was right, Aierjisi shot out the answer she’d heard.

“Not bad! You actually got the first one right! Now, let’s see if you can keep up with the next ones.”

The examiner realized this little girl could possibly be the true partner His Majesty was looking for.

“Come on, spit it out! I’m waiting for your next code.”

Since she had already got that one right, she felt she probably knew the answers to the next ones too.

“Leave the card number, money for love.”

“Whether more or less is a matter of fate.”

“Show the scar, serve time in jail.”

“Stir up gambling, drinking, and all kinds of trouble.”

“Jump from the fifth floor, won’t die.”

“Messed up the nerves, feeling good.”

“Run to the small county, sneak into the internet café.”

“Steady as a betting dog setting the limit.”

“Borrow small loans, Alipay.”

“Big brother as steady as a graveyard grass.”

“I borrow money based on strength.”

“When has there ever been a reason to pay back?”

“Hmm, wait here a moment. I’ll go inform His Majesty.”

The examiner could hardly believe that the first person to match all the codes was a little girl. He needed to consult with King Gaia about whether to meet this girl.

Before long, the call was connected. But it wasn’t King Gaia on the line; it was Ouxs.

“Lord Ouxs, I have something to report.”

“What is it? Speak quickly! I’m busy here.”

Ouxs looked at the examiner, wondering if this communication was urgent.

“Right. His Majesty wants us to use the code to select the true partner. We’ve found someone who matched all the codes.”

“Nani?! Someone actually matched all the codes? Are you sure?”

Hearing that someone matched all the codes excited Ouxs. If that’s the case, maybe this country could be saved!

“Yes, absolutely true. But…”

The examiner had a hesitant look, making Ouxs uneasy.

“But what? Spit it out! We’re on a tight schedule here!”

“Actually… the person who matched all the codes is an approximately eleven-year-old little girl.”

“A little girl?!”

Hearing it was a girl made Ouxs’s mood plummet. What good is a little girl?

“Should we let her meet His Majesty?”

The examiner, looking nervous, asked. Ouxs didn’t seem pleased at all.

“Let her come. After all, it’s the King’s order; we need to see what kind of miracle she is.”

Even though he didn’t have high hopes for the girl, it was still Gaia’s direct order. As long as she matched the code, anyone could get the chance to meet King Gaia himself.

“Got it. I understand.”

With that, the examiner hung up the call.
