I Became a Little Vampire Princess After Being Infected by a Game Virus

Chapter 26: Let Me See the New Weapon

Chapter 26: Let Me See the New Weapon

After lounging around the town for a while, Aierjisi was already quite satisfied. She had no intention of lingering here any longer. So, together with Yake, she returned to the Royal Palace.

“Sorry. Mr. Ouxs has been in the lab developing something, and no one is allowed to enter during this time.”

The guard standing at the entrance spoke to Aierjisi with a hint of regret.

“Well, it seems his development is still ongoing. I won’t disturb him then. What about Lord Gaia? Can I see him now?”

Aierjisi had no options left. She just returned to the Royal Palace and wanted to see how things were progressing, but judging by the current “No Entry” sign, it seemed like nothing was ready yet.

“As for Lord Gaia, he can be found anytime. However, I personally suggest that it’s better not to disturb him; he should still be working.”

“Alright, we understand. Thank you!”

After thanking the guard, Aierjisi and Yake could only head back to their room.

If she had known they were so busy, she would’ve chosen to roam around the city a bit longer.

“Hey, Aier, can I see that weapon now?”

Yake hadn’t forgotten the promise the Little Princess made to show him the new weapon once they returned to the palace.

“Oh, fine! Since you want to see it, I’ll let you have a look at it. But I should warn you, if it doesn’t recognize you, it might attack you, so be careful!”

After saying that, Aierjisi placed her hand on her chest, then slipped her hand into the “door” located there. She was accessing her spatial pocket to retrieve the weapon.

Once she found the weapon inside, Aierjisi grasped it and pulled it out from her body.

“Is this the new weapon? Just looking at it feels terrifying.”

Yake gazed at the sword Aierjisi pulled out, feeling an unusual aura radiating from it.

More importantly, compared to normal swords, this one seemed to be meant for backward usage. Aside from that, for some reason, the part of the sword hilt looked like the head of some creature.

“Here it is, the new weapon I prepared for you, but right now, you probably aren’t ready to wield it.”

Aierjisi handed the sword to Yake so he could experience the power contained within it.

“Wow, this sword really looks amazing! It’s nothing compared to the one I found in the ruins!”

Yake swung the sword around, feeling like a child with a shiny new toy.

“Be careful! If you swing it like that, you might wake it up!”

Seeing Yake swinging the sword wildly, Aierjisi quickly tried to stop his silly behavior.

“Huh? Wake what? This sword?”

Yake suddenly recalled that Aierjisi mentioned something about this sword having human-like intelligence.

“You idiot! Are you enjoying shaking me in your hands? I’m about to toss my lunch with all this shaking!”

Suddenly, the sword opened its mouth, which was strangely located on the hilt, and zapped Yake’s hand, forcing him to drop it and send it clattering away.

“Ouch! That hurt! What kind of weapon is this? Isn’t that a bit excessive?”

Yake cradled his right hand. If he hadn’t thrown the sword away just in time, his hand would have turned into a grilled bear paw!

“I told you to be careful! Don’t wake this guy up!”

Aierjisi walked over to the sword that was sticking in the ground and reached out to pull it out, only to get zapped again.

“Ouch! You need to check who your attacker is when you strike! I’m your creator, and you attack me like this?”

Rubbing her finger, Aierjisi was quite irritated. After working hard to create this sword, it dared to attack her!

“Hmph! I don’t care whether you’re my creator! Anyone who tries to use me better be prepared. They’d better impress me first!”

“So, I told you, you won’t be able to control this guy.”

Aierjisi pointed at the sword embedded in the ground, wearing an expression of helplessness.

“Then I want to know: what would satisfy you?”

Yake was curious about what it would take to make the sword willingly accept him, allowing him to wield it.

“Simple! A reason to fight.”

“A reason to fight?”

“Exactly! People fight for all sorts of reasons—a pursuit of wealth, love, power, and even those fools who fight for world peace. I want to know why the person wielding me fights. If you can give me a satisfactory answer, I might let you use me.”

The sword spoke as if it were a real person.

“Okay, I got it. So, my true reason has to satisfy you, right? Well, here goes: I fight to protect Aierjisi, to defeat the Adrian People together with her. Is that good enough?”

Before saying that, Yake recalled why he decided to embark on this journey with her. This reason should satisfy the sword, right?

“Fool! That reason is totally inadequate! It doesn’t satisfy me at all. More importantly, your words carry no weight. I can’t feel your determination from what you said. Think carefully about why you fight. When you find your true fighting reason, come talk to me about it.”

After hearing Yake’s reasoning, the sword mercilessly criticized him.
