Chapter 22: New Equipment Acquired √

“Wow… amazing! You took down that fusion magical beast so easily!”

From his hiding spot, Yake watched in awe as Aierjisi, the Little Princess, effortlessly defeated the terrifying beast. It was the first time he had witnessed her in battle, and he finally understood just how powerful this little princess was.

【Looks like I definitely shouldn’t upset this little princess in the future.】

Seeing Aierjisi’s strength, Yake thought to himself that he must never anger her again, or he might end up being beaten so badly that even his mom wouldn’t recognize him!

“Hey, Yake! What are you still hiding there for? The fight is over! You can come out now!”

Aierjisi called out to Yake, urging him to come out from his hiding place.

“I’m coming, I’m coming! That was quite the show, wasn’t it?”

Yake stepped out and approached Aierjisi, praising her earlier fight, hoping to win the favor of the little princess and prepare for their future relationship.

“Of course! I’m the Blood Clan’s princess! A beast like that could never stop me. Let’s go!”

“Go? Aren’t we going to deal with the beast’s corpse?”

Noticing Aierjisi ignoring the beast’s corpse, Yake was curious—weren’t they supposed to handle it? After all, it was a hidden lord beast!

“Oh, don’t worry about that thing; it was just a gatekeeper. The real treasure is deeper inside.”

Without looking back, Aierjisi marched toward a hole created by the beast’s destruction. Yake had no choice but to follow her, wondering what she meant by the “real treasure.”

After wandering in the cave for a while, the pair arrived at another space.

“What is this place?”

Yake looked around in amazement, seeing not only the materials Aierjisi needed but also a heap of ancient gold treasures.

“Just as I thought! To hide these real treasures, the ruins’ creator set up a double layer of security.”

Aierjisi casually grabbed a handful of gold coins from nearby. Some ruins had hidden rooms to conceal true treasures, and she remembered the countless hours she had spent figuring out how to find hidden mechanisms.

Wait, what’s a “strategy”? Where did that word come from?

Aierjisi frowned; she had sensed something was off ever since waking up. It seemed time to sort through her memories; her mind felt awfully jumbled right now.

“Is something wrong? Don’t you see what you need here?”

Seeing Aierjisi frowning, Yake approached her.

“No, just a bit of a headache. It could be a side effect of being sealed for so long. Should only be temporary, so don’t worry.”

Aierjisi shook her head; she figured it was just her brain taking time to recover after being sealed.

“Got it.”

Seeing Aierjisi say it wasn’t a big deal, Yake didn’t pry further. He continued to admire the ancient gold around them, thinking that if he could sell everything here, it would ensure a comfortable life for him, his family, and future generations. Unfortunately, he couldn’t cast teleportation magic, and repeatedly moving everything would easily draw attention. Perhaps this little princess could help solve that problem.

“Aier.”

“Ah? What is it?”

Aierjisi was still selecting materials for magic devices when she heard Yake call her. She turned to look at him.

“Isn’t searching through everything one by one a bit inefficient? Don’t you know that teleportation magic? Why not just transfer all the treasures here at once?”

“Are you just blinded by all the money here?”

Aierjisi shot Yake a deadpan look. She knew exactly what he was thinking. In any world, country, or society, people’s motives were either money or power. And now that there were so many treasures only they knew about, it was entirely normal for Yake to want to move them before anyone else found them.

“Hehe, can’t let good stuff go to waste, right?”

Feeling caught, Yake sheepishly scratched his head. After all, with so many treasures around, they definitely should take some!

“Fine, let’s wait a minute. I’ll find the materials I need first, or it’ll be hard to locate them after we transfer everything. Ah…”

Just then, Aierjisi noticed a sword stuck in the ground. It was a uniquely designed sword, with the hilt shaped oddly, but more importantly, its quality was evident—this was definitely a rare good sword!

“Wow, this is indeed a fine sword! I wasn’t wrong! Hey, Yake.”

Holding the sword carefully, Aierjisi decided it would be better to give this sword to Yake for now, while she put the magic devices aside for the moment.

“Ah? What’s up?”

“Here, catch. You can use this. I only pick items that are guaranteed to be good!”

Aierjisi tossed the sword to Yake, who reached out to catch it.

“Oh, this is definitely a good sword!”

Yake swung it a couple of times, confirming it was a significant upgrade from his current iron sword. Since the little princess was giving it to him, he happily accepted!

“Huh? Is there some kind of mechanism here?”

Bringing the sword hilt close for a better look, Yake spotted a button he could press right where he held it. Curious about what might happen, he considered pressing it.

“Whoa!!”

“Yake?!”

Aierjisi paused her search for materials, glancing over at Yake after hearing his loud scream.

“That was close! I nearly lost my head!”

“What happened?”

Aierjisi inquired about what had just occurred—there had to be a reason Yake had yelped like that.

“Look! This sword can transform into a bow!”

Yake proudly showcased the weapon to Aierjisi; the sword had magically morphed into a bow, with glowing strings made of light on either side, and both sides could also be utilized as blades for close combat.

“A weapon that can change form!”

When she was at the royal palace, she had read about such weapons designed to adapt to ever-changing battlefields. But seeing one in person was a first for her!
