Chapter 575: A New Tradition in the North
"Let's see how the mood of this Historical Imprint is..."
Lu Yuan closed his eyes and meditated for three hours before he vaguely glimpsed a scene.
On the dome of the spacious main hall hung three hundred and sixty Mithril chandeliers, each lampshade made from the skull of a certain type of fish, with wicks burning the never-extinguishing fish oil of mermaids.
The small piece of Mithril he held was part of the chandelier.
Under the bright lights, a grand banquet commenced as scheduled.
The Patron Civilization's song and dance evening party!
This race resembled humans somewhat, with elongated arms and legs, dressed in red or brown tailcoats, walking upright, the only difference being the three eyes on their foreheads, making them look imposing and quite dashing.
In the banquet, glasses clinked, flowers covered the ground, music was pleasing, and the singing was delightful.
"Two families united, newlyweds together, a perfect match made in heaven."
"Let's bless them for a hundred years of harmony!"
The sound near his ear was blurry; perhaps it was the voice of the emcee?
Lu Yuan couldn't be sure, but he was intrigued, feeling the charm of the Exotic Realm Civilization and puzzled as to why a wedding had the qualification to be recorded in history?
"Wow, the meal is quite rich, fish, shrimp, pastries, meats..."
"And some aliens...wow, even dwarves? Eighth Epoch pastries?"
Immediately after, he heard a "bang," a sound of glass shattering coming from the east, and the bridegroom with a flushed face fell to the ground.
Panic-stricken screams and cries of agony echoed through the hall.
"Enemy attack, engraving bullets!"
"Protect the Lord!"
The groom was shot in the back, blood gushing out like a spring.
A guy in black clothing with a contorted face roared furiously, baring his teeth and claws: "She is mine! Don't even think about it!"
"Bang, bang, bang!"
With the sound of the gunshots, Lu Yuan was thrown out of the "Historical Imprint," unable to regain his senses for a while.
He jokingly complained: "Hiss... so it was a crime of passion after all."
Feeling something was off, he took out a "Crystal Stone computer," this Crystal Stone computer was a gift from the dwarves, recording quite a lot of historical tidbits.
[The Patron Civilization was quite a promising civilization in the Northern Territory during the Eighth Epoch.]
A level two civilization was indeed quite high-grade.
[They built Sky City, trying to unite the humans of the Northern Territory to form a political and military alliance. The simplest way, of course, was through political marriage.]
[But for some reason, the whole plan completely failed.]
"Oh, maybe it wasn't a crime of passion but a political intrigue?"
Lu Yuan shook his head, then described the scene he glimpsed to Miss Conch.
"So you can create Legendary Equipment again?" The girl wasn't interested in politics, raising her curved eyebrows, "Can a historical imprint create such a legend?"
"No, it cannot." Lu Yuan shook his head, "The mood of this crime of passion is too strange. I have no life experience in this aspect; what do you want me to create?"
"Would experiencing such a crime of passion allow you to create?" Miss Conch laughed, "Maybe we should play around in some dream?"
Lu Yuan remained serious: "No. I can create sheltered areas because I have truly experienced similar events; life's hardships, I have personally experienced them, with the ability to empathize."
"And for the historical imprint of this piece of Mithril, at most, I can only regard it as a story."
"Even if forcefully creating a piece of work, its use would be very niche and unnecessarily waste inspiration."
He paused for a moment and put the Mithril away: "However... collecting more Historical Imprints is still beneficial."
"Maybe they'll come in handy in the future?"
The two lingered at the Patron Ruins for three days, ultimately only locating a small piece of "Mithril," some minerals in rat holes, and a few steles with ancient writings.
Beyond that, there was nothing else.
But they were satisfied; having a harvest is better than none.
"Let's go, to the next destination."
...
This kind of travel was quite interesting for the two of them, counting as a significant long holiday from their long-term busy life.
The dangers on the road weren't many, the "Greedy Demon God" was too powerful, whether it was cold waves, blizzards, or avalanches, or even robbery, these didn't really affect them much.
The only minor risk was when Lu Yuan, in human form, ran into a famished "Unihorn Bear."
This bear followed them for quite some time.
It was eventually fed a few pieces of meat by Miss Conch and was tamed through the "Animal Affinity" ability.
"Aw, aw, aw!" Old Wolf growled discontentedly.
In the end, the two didn't make the "Unihorn Bear" their pet but released it into the wild.
They even encountered an extreme cold wave, with the Greedy Demon God freezing outside, while Lu Yuan and Conch enjoyed hotpot in the space capsule, occasionally playing some adult games when bored.
"I said so, bringing a nuclear power station has benefits. Look at this abundant electricity."
"Squeak, squeak!"
"Aw, aw, aw!" Old Wolf continually howled at a newly arrived white mouse.
"Even jealous of it, you silly creature."
After the cold wave, the Greedy Demon God continued moving; it only took one or two days to reach the next civilization, spending not much time on the road.
In the local area, they would spend one or two days sightseeing, giving small gifts, displaying their talents, or savoring the local cuisine, trading small items.
If they could find Extraordinary Items with "Historical Imprints," it would be best.
