I Ascend to the Divine Throne through Arcane Means

Chapter 693: The Assailant

Lonely Mountain City,

The fiery atmosphere of the Fiery Fire Festival continues, and the dwarves are indulging in the exquisite wines.

Although the Dwarf Kingdom is somewhat exclusive, Lonely Mountain City still has a number of outsiders.

Of course, humans make up a considerable portion.

Many humans come to Drum Mountain City, bringing a variety of exotic wines.

For the dwarves who don't particularly chase after material pleasures, the wines are the most welcomed.

Even though ale is still the dwarves' favorite drink, they wouldn't turn down the chance to experience different flavors.

And the dwarves are the most willing to spend money on this, so the profits from transporting wines are the highest.

In Lonely Mountain City, there are several human-run taverns that are quite popular.

Thus, during the Fiery Fire Festival, human figures can occasionally be seen mingling among the dwarves.

They are also quite interested in the celebrations of the Dwarf Clan.

Kelleb feels the same.

Having been busy for days without any significant results left him a bit frustrated.

Fortunately, the Fiery Fire Festival came along, and he's planning to experience the dwarves' ale.

He's going to the tavern he intended to visit last time.

Only now it's daytime, so he shouldn't encounter attacks, right?

That Legendary Day Elf has not appeared since that incident.

Even though he and Richie have found several Evil God believers' hideouts, they have found no related clues.

This has left Richie somewhat indecisive.

Wondering if his assumptions were wrong, and that the Legendary Day Elf was indeed sent by the Elf Kingdom.

Kelleb believes this possibility is very low, but he has no way to provide evidence.

Thus, this matter can only continue as it is, without discovering new clues, it might remain stagnant here.

Sigh~

Kelleb shook his head.

Just having become a Legend not long ago, he encounters such things, which leaves Kelleb quite vexed.

However, it's obvious that this issue is not something one or two Legends can solve.

Shaking his head, Kelleb temporarily puts these bothersome thoughts aside.

Now, it's time to relax!

In fact, Kelleb quite enjoys fine wines.

Or rather, no Divine Officer of the War God Church dislikes fine wines.

And Kelleb actually prefers the ale of the Dwarf Kingdom.

Compared to those transported by trading caravans, from all sorts of exotic wines from the eastern Fanor Continent, Kelleb feels the dwarves' brewed ale retains the purest malt aroma.

Rich and flavorful, lingering aftertaste!

With that thought, Kelleb heads towards the tavern he remembers.

At that moment, a sudden change occurred!

In the corner of a small alley, at the dim corner of the wall, an imperceptible Shadow quietly stealthed.

Ordinarily, just an interplay of light and dust, yet now it seemed to be awoken by some indescribable strength, starting to slither slowly.

Like an unusual awakening from slumber, each expansion and contraction brought with it a peculiar rhythm.

Without Kelleb noticing, the Shadow suddenly erupted with unprecedented speed.

Its volume expanded at a remarkable speed, and in a flash transformed into a gigantic, unfathomable Abyssal maw.

Within the giant maw formed by this Shadow, it was pitch black, exuding a chilling, horrifying aura.

Kelleb was yet to sense anything amiss.

His footsteps were light, possibly his mind was still immersed in previous thoughts, completely unaware of the impending upheaval.

At that instant, the Abyssal maw suddenly opened wide, with a thunderous motion swallowed Kelleb whole.

Everything occurred so suddenly that Kelleb didn't even have time to react before being tightly wrapped by the eerie Shadow, vanishing without a trace.

After engulfing Kelleb, the Shadow slowly retracted, eventually reverting to the seemingly harmless corner Shadow.

No one around noticed the transformation that occurred here.

...

What!?

Everything happened too fast, Kelleb had no time to respond.

Kelleb's consciousness gradually awoke amidst the chaos, only to find himself in an unimaginable alternate dimension.

His surroundings were no longer Lonely Mountain City, but an eerie domain woven from Shadows.

He tried to move his steps but felt each step trod upon nothingness, echoing hollow and heavy footsteps.

This Shadow Space seemed alive, breathing and slithering, instilling Kelleb with a certain indescribable sense of oppression.

Looking up, the eye's reach was limited to just beyond ten meters ahead, beyond which lay deep, unknowable darkness, seemingly harboring countless secrets and dangers.

Numerous Shadows circled around Kelleb, entwining, at times reverting to a lifeless darkness.

He could sense the malice and surveillance embedded in these Shadows, as if countless eyes lay hidden in the dark, silently observing his every move.

Kelleb was overcome with an inexplicable sense of danger, yet he was aware, at this moment he must remain calm, seeking a method to escape this bizarre space.

He began to meticulously observe the surrounding environment, striving to find any possible clues or exit.

However, this Shadow Space seemed a perfect cage, no matter his efforts, he couldn't find any clues or hints.

Just as Kelleb prepared to unleash all his strength, attempting to break through this Space, a voice suddenly emerged.

"Are you Kelleb, the Legendary Priest of the War God Church?"
