I Ascend to the Divine Throne through Arcane Means

Chapter 602: Wanting a Few Life Ancient Trees_2

Haddad's interest wasn't simply in an Elf Station; he viewed Lis's proposal as a deeper collaboration between Lis and the Elf Kingdom.

Originally, Haddad's attitude towards Lis was more about the respect due to a World Tree Favored.

In his view, Lis's talent and strength were commendable, but it was Lis's identity as the World Tree Favored that was most important, representing the embodiment of the World Tree's will.

In the face of potential future dangers, Lis might play a crucial role, even serving as a bridge of communication between the Elf Clan and the World Tree Yggdrasil.

However, with the establishment of [Nature's Wrath] and the cooperation Lis reached with the Church of the Gods on behalf of the Elf Kingdom, the changes Lis brought to the Elf Kingdom had become quite evident.

The more obvious impact was among the elves of the Elf Kingdom, as they had become more amicable towards the Human Clan because of the Elf Sage Lis, leading to increased interaction between the two parties.

With this trend shifting, the greatest beneficiary was the Jade City.

This was something Haddad didn't want to see, but he couldn't stop it from happening.

The destruction of the Elf Royal Court proved that the Elf Clan could no longer isolate themselves and ignore the affairs of the world.

Even the Day Elves realized that the Elf Clan and the Elf Kingdom needed to change.

The Elf Clan needed to join the era's grand wave in the Gaia World with a more proactive attitude, seeking allies and gaining support from other forces.

And the best ally for cooperation was, of course, the strongest Human Clan.

The Church of the Gods was certainly willing to see the Elf Clan's changes, eager to draw all forces into the Human Clan's camp to ensure greater confidence in the face of future crises.

And at this point, whether for the Elf Kingdom or the Church of the Gods, Lis's existence was even more crucial.

Both the Elf Clan and the Church of the Gods trusted Lis as the World Tree Favored.

And with this trust, the changes Lis brought were welcomed by both the Church of the Gods and the Elf Clan.

But for Haddad, he wanted to have control over this change.

So when Lis suggested the Elf Kingdom establish an Elf Station on his territory, Haddad was quite interested.

He signaled to Rosde to satisfy Lis's requests as much as possible.

Haddad was pleased that Lis did not cooperate directly with the Jade City but instead engaged with the Elf Kingdom, willing to make concessions in the cooperation.

"In that case, all the better."

Lis nodded and then said with a smile.

"Of course, I am also here to seek the Elf Kingdom's support this time."

"Lord Lis, please go ahead."

Rosde nodded, smiling at Lis.

Lord Haddad had already made a decision, so Rosde did not pay much attention to Lis's requests.

This was a cooperation between Lis and the Elf Kingdom, so even if Lis made high demands, it wouldn't be an issue.

That's what Rosde thought, but when he saw the materials list Lis handed over, even as a Legend, he was a bit dumbfounded.

Looking at the list in his hand, Rosde uncertainly asked Lis:

"Lord Lis, is this really...?"

"These are the materials needed to build the Elf Station!"

Lis blinked at Rosde and said matter-of-factly.

Faced with Lis's response, Rosde felt a lump in his chest, unsure whether to let it out.

Though he was not a Mage, having lived for hundreds of years, Rosde understood the value of the various precious extraordinary materials on Lis's list.

To say the least, it was worth several times his entire wealth.

Asking for what amounted to the entire wealth of several legends, even if the Elf Kingdom could afford it, how could they easily agree?

If the World Tree Yggdrasil needed it, the Elf Kingdom might accept it, but Lis's reason was simply too far-fetched.

Building an Elf Station?

You wouldn't need that many rare materials to rebuild a Human Royal Capital!

Rosde had no doubt that if he agreed to Lis's demand now, he'd get a beating from Lord Haddad later.

The Day Elves were notoriously fiery-tempered, only little known because of their small numbers.

"The Jade City is willing to provide Lord Lis with some support."

Julian, who had been quietly listening on the side, said with a smile, though his tone was quite serious.

What?

Rosde quickly turned to look at Julian, wondering if the old fellow intended to stir things up.

"However, Lord Lis, the precious materials you require are numerous, and with the limited foundation of the Jade City, we can only provide a tenth of the materials."

"Thank you for your assistance, Councilman."

Lis smiled and nodded to Julian, expressing his gratitude.

As for why Julian agreed to the support, Lis undoubtedly would have communicated with the Jade City before contacting the Elf Capital!

An excellent tradition: secret dealings!

Two cunning tacticians reached an agreement pleasantly.

And as Rosde felt Lis's gaze turn upon him, he felt a numbness.

"The Alorotti family is also willing to provide... two-tenths of the materials."

Rosde gritted his teeth, regretting why he came here today.

Wouldn't it have been better to stay quietly at home?

"Thank you for Lord Haddad's generosity!"

Lis's eyes lit up, and he smiled at Rosde, shaking his hand.

Rosde forced a smile, though he didn't feel very enthusiastic.

Being a Legend meant he wasn't stupid.

He could see that Lis and Julian had planned this in secret to lure him into a trap.

But this was an open conspiracy, and he had no way to refuse.

As long as Lis's demands weren't too outrageous, Rosde had to agree.

Two-tenths is two-tenths; it's not impossible to refuse.

Recalling Haddad's previous instructions to agree to all of Lis's requests, Rosde felt somewhat relieved.

"By the way, I have another request."

Lis, as if suddenly remembering something, addressed Rosde.

"Lord Lis, what else do you need?"

Rosde felt his throat dry, laughing bitterly as he spoke.

"Since the Elf Kingdom is building a station on my territory, of course, I hope the cooperation can continue forever."

"It's like this... If possible... could the Alorotti family transfer a few Golden Life Ancient Trees to the Elf Station."

Lis looked at Rosde with an apologetic expression and said.

"I understand."

Rosde didn't say much, acknowledging that this was indeed no small matter.

To "give away" the Tree of Life, regarded as the foundation and symbol by the Elf Clan, required the Elf Kingdom to consider more ideological constraints.

Moreover, with the destruction of the Elf Royal Court, the Elf Clan had already lost a portion of their Elf Ancient Trees, let alone the rare Life Ancient Trees.

If it were the previous Elf Clan, such a request would have been impossible to grant.

But now... the Elf Clan was different from before.

As a World Tree Favored, Lis having a few Life Ancient Trees didn't seem too unacceptable.

Rosde no longer wanted to worry about these things and prepared to return to the Elf Capital immediately to let Haddad make the decision.

For Lis, the benefits that Life Ancient Trees brought to his territory were considerable.

Firstly, the Life Essence emitted by the Life Ancient Trees was greatly beneficial to the territory's residents and increased the territory's allure to talent.

Secondly, for the curious players, it was simply irresistible; it would definitely serve as an excellent attraction.

Lis had already decided to transplant two Life Ancient Trees when the time came.
