Chapter 111: Execution
The reason why the Daimyo wanted to kill Hashirama was that he and Madara were disrupting the established order and hierarchy.
Before the formation of the one village, one country system, the Daimyo held immense authority and could even order the massacre of an entire clan without fear of repercussions.
That was the extent of their power, backed by wealth and status. However, after the display of strength from both the Uchiha and Senju clans, it changed dramatically. Many major ninja clans no longer dared to challenge Hashirama and Madara.
The Fire Daimyo, feeling threatened by this shift in power, reached out to his cousin from another country to plot Hashirama's assassination. At this time, the Daimyo were essentially all family, with relatives often being sent as queens or concubines to other countries, making it easy to request their aid.
The other Daimyo agreed with the Fire Daimyo, as they too felt their authority was being undermined by this new system. They believed that by eliminating Hashirama and Madara, their influence and power would be restored.
Now, the Fire Daimyo was tied to a stake, and Madara summoned everyone nearby to witness.
"Today, I will punish our Daimyo for misusing his position to kill innocent people," Izuna announced.
"What?"
"What was that?"
"Are they crazy? They want to punish a Daimyo?"
"Stop this nonsense!"
"Why aren't the guards doing anything?"
Madara and Izuna let the crowd murmur, allowing them to witness the consequences of crossing the Uchiha.
"Silence!" shouted Madara after a few moments.
"Now, back to the matter at hand," continued Izuna. "Because of the Daimyo's sins, we will execute him right now."
Izuna then took a kunai and executed the corrupt Daimyo. His head fell, and blood splattered across Izuna's face.
After the execution, the crowd dispersed, and Madara and Izuna entered the mansion. Inside, they found the Daimyo's relatives, including his daughter and concubine.
Terrified, the women stared at Izuna, who was covered in blood. Some of them begged for mercy.
Izuna wanted to kill the entire family, but the Daimyo's six-year-old daughter suddenly stood in front of her mother, bravely protecting her.
"Don't hurt my mother," she declared, shielding her.
"Nono, come back here," cried the concubine, holding her daughter close and trying to protect her from Izuna.
Seeing this, Izuna paused, silent. The scene reminded him of his own wife and daughter, imagining this could have been their last moment before they were killed by an enemy.
Izuna turned away, sparing the mother and daughter. He then began searching for the treacherous minister who also had a hand in Nezuko's murder.
One by one, the guilty were executed by Izuna, with Madara following close behind. Madara wanted to intervene but knew this was Izuna's moment of revenge.
Suddenly, Setsuna appeared in front of Izuna, swirling into view, and brought eight ninjas from Takigakure. Setsuna had removed their forehead protectors earlier.
"Huh, who are they, Setsuna?" asked Izuna.
"They're the ones who accepted the assassination mission from the Daimyo," Setsuna replied.
Without hesitation, the execution resumed, and one by one, the heads rolled.
---Hashirama Came---
The messenger used Shunshin no Jutsu as fast as he could, but the distance from the Daimyo's castle to Konoha was about half a day's journey.
By the time the news reached Konoha, the Daimyo had already been killed by Izuna.
"What? Madara and Izuna went on a rampage inside the Daimyo's castle?" Hashirama said in disbelief. "Why did they attack the Daimyo?"
"We... We don't know. They suddenly arrived and attacked everyone in the mansion. I was sent here by the team leader to ask for support," explained the guard.
"Brother, I think it's because of the Nezuko incident," Tobirama reminded him.
"What?" Hashirama thought for a moment. "You're a guard of the Daimyo, right? Did the Daimyo send assassins to kill Uchiha Izuna's wife?"
"No... I don't know. I work outside, so I didn't hear what the Daimyo discussed inside the mansion," the guard replied.
"Okay, even though we don't know his exact motive for attacking the Daimyo, we need to intervene. Tobirama, did you place a mark at the Daimyo's location?" asked Hashirama.
"No brother, my closest mark is 15 minutes nearing the mansion" revealed Tobirama.
"Ok good, teleport me there" ordered Hashirama.
They then teleport into the location where Tobirama had put his mark.
When they arrived at the location they was shocked with the blood and coprse on floor.
Setsuna who had noticed Hashirama and Tobirama coming decided to flee, he didn't want get a bad reputation in the Uzushiogakure because his wife and children are all in Konoha.
"Izuna don't tell Hashirama that I am involved with this matter, those people I will sent to replace the Daimyo. His daughter are still young but with the right people she can still govern the fireland" said Setsuna.
"Okay setsuna don't worry, we will protect your secret " replied Izuna.
Setsuna just smiled hearing Izuna confirmation, he feel happy knowing Izuna had spared Daimyo daughter. Looking at the mother and daughter, deep down Setsuna knows they remind him of Kazuha and Nezuko.
Setsuna swirling in and teleported to Uzushiogakure, his job are settle and now only Izuna and Madara is left to handle the consequences.
---He Is the Culprit---
"Madara, what are you doing here?" asked Hashirama.
"Hashirama, that should be my question to you," Madara replied. "What are you doing here?"
"We're taking revenge, of course," Madara confirmed.
"You... do you even realize what you've done?" Hashirama pointed accusingly.
"Shut up, Hashirama," Madara said coldly. "The Daimyo ordered people to kill my niece. How could I sit back and do nothing?"
"What? How do you know that?" Hashirama asked in disbelief.
Izuna then handed a scroll to Hashirama.
"Open it. There's proof that the assassin who infiltrated Konoha was paid by the Daimyo," Izuna said.
Hashirama opened the scroll, and along with Tobirama, they read through the evidence of the Daimyo's wrongdoing.
"This... but why?" Hashirama asked in disbelief.
"Because they felt threatened and decided to kill my niece," Madara explained.
"I understand he's guilty, but have you killed all of his descendants?" Hashirama asked.
"No, his daughter is safe," Izuna responded.
"Why are you so concerned about the former Daimyo's descendants?" Madara asked.
"Because without them, the civilians will suffer. They need someone to govern them, which Konoha cannot provide," Hashirama answered.
