I am the Emperor of Humanity across the Multiverse

Chapter 195: Chapter 223: Life During Warp Travel

In the shimmering glow of the warp space, the Hero-class super-heavy cruiser moved forward smoothly without encountering any turbulence or unknown disturbances.

Meanwhile, in the daily training area located above the hangar in the belly of the ship:

"Lehman! Take your brother down!"

"I've bet two rounds of drinks on you!"

A large group of ODST (Orbital Drop Shock Troopers) and AECS (Emergency Countermeasure Force), dressed in their training uniforms, gathered around a ring designed for mock combat, enthusiastically cheering them on.

Lehman, standing at about 3.2 or 3.3 meters tall, was preparing for a "brawl" with his older brother Vulkan.

Though Lehman's appearance wasn't as handsome as Fulgrim's or Sanguinius', he could still be considered "decent-looking." However, his scruffy beard and wild, long hair gave him a disheveled look.

More importantly, Lehman was currently shirtless, cracking his knuckles with loud pops as he gruffly declared, "If I win, you all owe me half your winnings for drinks!"

"Win first, then talk!"

"Hahaha, don't get flattened by Vulkan's punch!"

Several ODST members joined in the teasing. It seemed they didn't hold the same level of awe toward the Primarchs as the rest of the world. After all, these ODSTs, stationed at the front lines of Fertile Star Base, were battle-hardened elites, and Lehman had lived with their boss at the front line since he was just a "kid."

Over time, even though Lehman grew into a giant over 3 meters tall, in the eyes of the ODSTs and AECS, he was just a "big kid."

Lehman's bold personality also meshed well with the ODSTs, who were known for being a bit crazy. They often drank and grilled together.

As for Vulkan, though standing at an imposing 3.6 or 3.7 meters after shedding his power armor, he only arrived at the base as an adult. He hadn't bonded with the others as much as Lehman, but no one dared to show him disrespect either.

The two brothers circled each other, neither making the first move.

"Achoo!"

At that moment, Lehman sneezed, closing his eyes in the process.

!

Seeing this, Vulkan quickly stepped forward, intending to end this leisurely spar with a submission hold.

"Hey."

To his surprise, Lehman let out a sly laugh, dodging Vulkan's arms at the last second and swiftly landing a flurry of punches to his brother's right side.

Boom—boom—!

Each punch made the ship tremble slightly as Lehman's straight and hook punches connected with Vulkan's massive frame.

"Whoo-hoo!!"

"Nicely done, Lehman!"

Instead of causing alarm among the spectators, this only excited them more, even though they couldn't quite make out what had happened.

By this time, more than 80 Earth days had passed since they entered the warp space on June 10.

Although every ship had cryo-chambers that allowed personnel to "sleep" through the journey until reaching their destination, the ODSTs and AECS preferred to stay awake and continue training, maintaining their combat readiness without any mandatory orders to sleep.

So, when an opportunity arose to watch two Primarchs "brawl," it naturally drew a crowd.

"Nice one, kid!" Vulkan praised, then braced himself to take the blows before overpowering Lehman, pinning him down and locking his right arm in a basic armbar.

"Wait?! Okay, okay, I surrender! Surrender! Don't break my arm, big bro!" Lehman tapped out in a panic, his tone and expression showing he was genuinely afraid Vulkan might accidentally snap his arm.

At this moment, standing on the second-floor external walkway, Halsey observed the "brawl" with mild surprise, despite being accustomed to the existence of Primarchs.

This was probably the first time she had seen how two Primarchs fought.

To be precise, she hadn't even been able to see what had happened—before she knew it, the fight was already over, with a clear winner.

It wasn't just the speed that shocked Halsey; it was the fact that their clash had caused the entire ship to tremble.

How much power did these Primarchs actually possess?

That wasn't something human beings could achieve.

After being mentally implanted with information and project details by Samuel Young through psychic powers, Halsey had no qualms about switching sides and becoming a researcher for Atlas.

After all, she had never felt much loyalty to the UNSC.

Both sides were working for the continuation of human civilization, and Atlas seemed like a better choice. Plus, the possibility of traveling to other universes intrigued her greatly.

Now, Halsey was working with Alexia to develop the next-generation intelligent AI. Alexia had proposed using cloned brains to scan and replicate neural networks.

When Halsey officially joined Atlas, Alexia's research was already well underway, and all Halsey had to do was offer some helpful suggestions.

Once the next-generation AI was complete, Halsey would shift to the research department, focusing on reverse-engineering Forerunner technology.

She found this work "interesting," much more so than her time with ONI, where she felt more restrained.

Moreover, their nearly 200-year-old boss had promised her that, if conditions permitted, she would be allowed to start her "Spartan" project.

This filled Halsey with immense anticipation.

Atlas' biotechnology was far superior to the UNSC's, with the Inquisitor serum and the nanobots containing the 24th chromosome pair being the kind of drugs the UNSC had long dreamed of—perfect for creating soldiers capable of taking on multiple foes.

After reviewing the data on Thunder Warriors and Astartes, Halsey realized how far her previous concept of the "Spartans" had fallen short.

Thus, she was determined to spend time learning and absorbing as much knowledge from the company as possible to perfect her vision of the true Spartan warrior.

"Hahaha!"

Halsey's deep thoughts were interrupted by Lehman's hearty laughter.

Looking over, she saw Lehman leaving the training area with the ODST and AECS, clearly headed to the dining hall for a drink.

"They're just… kids," Halsey sighed softly.

She turned to leave and passed through a hatch into the outer deck corridor. Glancing at the warp space scenery outside the windows, she boarded a small internal rail train headed to the front of the ship, ready to assist Alexia in the final phase of the next-generation AI.

——

At this moment, in the living quarters of the Hero-class ship, in a specially enlarged cabin:

"Father, after three months of military suppression, the situation on Earth-02 has stabilized," Horus' voice echoed through the enclosed space as he reported to Samuel Young.
