Chapter 20: Chapter 20 – “The Darkness That Refused to Obey”
Final Ending – Volume 2 Finale
> "You made systems to control fate.
I became the darkness fate hides from."
— Jake Lagon
The battlefield was empty now.
Thirteen System Gods lay shattered across the dimensional void — stripped of their code, memory, and authority.
Jake Lagon stood in silence.
His hair flowed without wind. His eyes, pitch black with red fragments spinning like dying galaxies, stared at the core of everything:
The Throne of All Systems.
It pulsed once.
Then spoke — not with voice, but with command lines.
> "Jake Lagon.
You are not recognized.
You are an unregistered force.
This reality rejects your existence."
Jake didn't flinch.
> "Then reality needs to be updated."
He walked forward, past the broken gods, toward the ancient throne that ruled all fiction.
The System Core tried to rewrite him:
[ERROR: Cannot delete]
[ERROR: Level 0 not accepted]
[ERROR: No system detected]
[ERROR: Hain Yar undefined]
The throne glitched.
> "Why… why don't you follow rules?"
Jake stepped onto the platform.
> "Because I'm not a rule.
I'm the thing rules fear will wake up."
He raised his hand.
No energy. No attack. Just his presence.
And then…
The throne broke.
Not exploded.
It cracked from within.
Like the system realized:
> "We can't hold this being anymore."
Everything went quiet.
---
AFTERMATH:
Jake appeared back in his futuristic Tokyo.
Mansion untouched.
The sky calm.
Reality stabilized.
He walked into his room, shirt half-torn, calmly opening the fridge.
> "Elira."
> "Yes, my lord?"
> "Remind me next time not to fight the system gods before eating."
> "Noted, sir. Do you want ramen?"
> "No. Pancakes."
He sat down, eyes glowing faintly, watching the world outside.
> "They tried to delete me.
But I never needed their approval."
