When he woke up in the morning, Hades thought that he was still dreaming.
After all, this was the house where the rich used to live. Looking at the tall bed, the exquisite decorations, rows of high-end wine bottles, Hades felt a little disoriented.
This was also the soundest sleep he had had since the Apocalypse because he felt safe now and was no longer afraid of zombies.
If it was before, as a poor student who knew nothing but taking photos, Hades would never dream of buying such a luxurious house.
He’d find a job and listen to his boss’ lectures each day while working day and night.
At most, he would meet a girl he didn’t like very much and eventually get married.
But he’d eventually enter a middle-aged crisis because of poverty and loans and found himself useless.
But all of this didn’t happen because the Apocalypse had come.
Zombies swept across the world, and the millions of years of human civilization was shattered.
The earth was no longer belonged to the humans. The terrifying zombies were searching for the living in every corner of the earth.
The rich and politicians were powerless during Apocalypse no matter how much money or power they had had.
Only weapons and food could determine a person’s status.
Then, humans would build a shelter for themselves and spend hundreds or thousands of years to fight the zombies step by step and take back the territory.
This made Hades think of the tribes. Perhaps the era of power struggle between big countries was over and the humans would returned to the era of tribes, the era of seizing resources for survival with brutal force.
With the system, Hades had a great advantages over others.
His intelligence level had also been raised to a very high level, so Hades began to consider human’s future.
Perhaps in other parts of the world, some other smart people were also thinking about this issue.
They would not feel panic.
On the contrary, they were very excited.
This was a time to reshape human civilization. As long as they passed this stage, they would become the king of the world!
There were basically no survivors in those prosperous and populated cities.
The military with weapons and food supplies in the heavily guarded military zones would very probably take over this world.
Although Hades was powerful, it was impossible for him to fight against nuclear missiles.
The military had not yet used nuclear missiles or bombs, which meant that they did not need to do it yet.
They would gain nothing by destroying a city with a missile.
And missiles were extremely valuable in a world where countless scientists and engineers had died.
Therefore, the military would not immediately use weapons of mass destruction. Instead, they would keep them as a trump card and use them at the most crucial moment.
After thinking about this, Hades felt that he had to be patient. He couldn’t challenge the army; instead, when the time was right, he should work with the army.
Of course, the most important thing for now was to find enough supplies.
Before the Apocalypse, his dream was making money and buying a luxurious house like this one. But now his dream had changed.
He must keep himself safe, find his parents, and protect his family.
His goal was as simple as that.
Luxurious villas, sports cars, and airplanes were all useless in this ear.
“Brother, wake up!”
Delia, whose bedroom was next to his, had got dressed and come to his room to wake him up.
She had even prepared breakfast for Hades. Hades felt the warmth of family life and was very touched.
After eating breakfast, the two of them went out and searched five villas.
Three villas were empty while the other two had two servant zombies inside. There weren’t many things left in the houses.
After searching eight villas, there were twelve to go.
In the next two days, they brought back lots of high-end food including countless quality rice and fruits and even alive seafood.
Most importantly, they had found all kinds of seasonings and clothes.
Some houses had installed power generating units and thus still had electricity, gas and hot water.
To preserve vegetables, they put them in plastic bags and kept them in incubators packed with ice.
They had stocked up these supplies for their trip.
In addition to food, they found a Hummer and a jeep. The keys were also found in the houses.
However, what Hades needed the most was a heavy truck that could be used to store supplies.
There were only a few zombies in the villas in the rich community. Delia killed them all without Hades’ help.
The rest of the villas were well-decorated, but no one had moved into them, so they didn’t find anything in these houses.
The last villa they searched was as magnificent as a palace, especially the luxurious bed on the second floor with a water mattress and pink decorations on the sides. The soft crystal lights on the walls showed that it was a house built for a rich man’s mistress.
Hades didn’t like it and left immediately after taking supplies he needed.
The most important thing now was getting a truck to carry all the supplies, otherwise the food they had collected would go to waste.
The food they had found was enough to feed a team of ten people.
For the two of them, the food could last several months.
